To the OP...

What does the crown look like at the bore edge? If it's clean and uniform... I wouldn't sweat it.

Take your Qtip like in the one pic and rub move it around the inside edge of the crown... as long as your not pulling chunks of fiber like that off from your threads... don't sweat it. Go shoot it and let it tell you how it's shooting.

Yes the overall finish of the crown work could be nicer looking.

Here’s what an accuracy robbing ding looks like. My favorite walk around rifle and I went for a ride down a mountain. It actually used to be worse, that rifle (M-70 375 H&H) would stack my pet load in a solid .6-.7 hole, after the tumble, 1-1.5. I just kept shooting it and it wore down a bit, since it’s my bear fighting gun, 1.5 moa is good enough.

A crown can be damaged to the point you cannot see it with the naked eye and it can cause accuracy issues.

That one though in your pic... that's bad!

Most mounts are tough enough. Any steel mount will be stronger than alloy mounts.
Is it needed? Depends.
The original M40 A1 mount is about as tough as any I’ve seen. Yet it’s heavy and limits what scopes can be used.
Scope mounts have virtues beyond brute strength.

I went there once in 2016 and at that time there were thousands of homeless people roaming the streets aggressively panhandling (walking up and touching people) nodding out or coming down. All kinds of people sleeping under bridges or in any wooded area. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit if most of the bodies were od’s or bums drunk out of their minds falling into the river.

It’s a super high concentration of the type of people who end up dead in public places, right next to a body of water.

My ssg69 shoots .5" groups with my handloads very easily. It is a sleeper let me tell you. One of my favorite rifles. SOO fuckin mad I didnt get what I thought was a lame attempt at updating a classic (the 'tacticool bolt knobbed, threaded muzzle w/ no iron sights) SSG from CDNN 10 plus years ago. MAN what I would give to have a threaded ssg with a slightly heavier barrel these days....

My intention was not to bash rather highlight what can cause accuracy issues while testing on a bench as most people would, truth be told there is probably not any difference in accuracy when shooting off barricades that the chassis was designed for.

Russia is the "big man on campus?"

Russia is weak, and they've been getting their absolute shit kicked in by one of the most disorganized barely functioning countries in Europe for years now.

We know why Rooskie Animals are getting the business these days- they refuse to do right based on a burning resentment of everyone else's meager success after the fall of the Soviet Union, which to them alone was nothing more than a name change. It is the "deeply unfair" Western-dominated international order that is always holding them back from glorious greatness.

They also have a TON of land, much of it polluted by toxic waste and radioactivity, and would do better to divide up into a dozen or more new, more manageable entities and focus on developing those and providing services for their people- who have been suffering every day, war or no war, for decades.

Russia has no say in what happens to it, or what people do to it. They are a weak nation.

Their best move at this time is to withdraw to their borders and sign any-and-every piece of paper that can make it stop. Putin is well aware of this, but needs to puff himself a bit in front of his people first. Putin is a weak leader, and dull and dim on top of that.
