Did Hornady Change 147 ELD-M Bullet?

I wouldn't quite say significant. Berger has been very close lot to lot, while hornady is absolutely significantly different. I sold all my hornady bullets and replaced them with berger and the difference is very minor compared.
I have two lots of 105 hybrids that are .040" different in length. I emailed Berger about it and they said they dont track bullet dimensions across lots, only within a lot. They both shoot great so idc but it is strange

Smarter Than You

Here is AI's greatest accomplishment.

I was watching Godzilla on sci-fi channel for about 5 mins with my computer on. Now I'm getting fucking ads for Godzilla related crap, t-shirts, sheets and useless shi
Seriously fuck Bill Gates.
One of the shopping sites used to track the stuff you were looking at before checking out then just as you're checking out offer you one of the things you looked at for a discount if you add it to the cart right away. "AI". :p
Sounds like everyone should be careful that they don't accidently click on something woke or faggot related.

Is Campi Flagrei about to cook off?

And all this during a solar maximum... Supposedly a coincidence. But I don't like coincidences.

An article ini Nature linked solar activity with increased plate teuctonics and vulcaniism. But the USGS or NOAA or someone wrote an article refuting it.

I wonder if their article 'refuting it' was designed to point to everything being because of climate change... not solar periods and similar effects that you can't fix by raising taxes and screaming "How Dare You."

That said, 'supposedly' the number of quakes and volcano's is right in line with 'normal numbers.' I guess that the 'normal numbers' are more interesting when they happen in Southern Europe than, say, The Philippinies or some other third world craphole.

Be interesting to do a deep dive on the statistics on this.

And despite the exhortations that 'all is well' with solar events whacking our upper Van Allen belts or whatever they are... I am not so sure!

This was interesting reading last night: https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/images/u33/finalBoulderPresentation042611 (1).pdf

Is Campi Flagrei about to cook off?

Campi Flagre falls under the category of Supervolcano. No 'cone' it is a huge caldera-type.

I also remember reading that it is 'capped' by limestone from Vesuvius. Which is really famous because it is this limestone that is used to make the super-hard, super-enduring Roman Concrete that has lasted 2,000 years! Whenever it gets wet, it re-seals itself. So if there is a "Cap" made of what is, in essence, super hard Roman Concrete... then pressure may build up to the point that when it does blow it's gonna be like a pressure cooker going boom.

IIRC also, it is believed that Campi Flagre may have been the final nail in the coffin of the Neantrathal in Europe. Not sure if they have proved that, but it is a good theory.

Goldilocks centuries are great until the bears come home!

Customer Accuracy Expectations

50y sub .3 if mag fed, sub .2 if single loaded.
100y and 200y, I don’t really have enough experience with non-factory rifles to speak definitely. My Anschutz barreled Sako has fired numerous .5 groups @ 100m, so I can only guess a factory Anschutz would perform that well or better. Drawing on that, I’d expect a bit better from a custom build. I haven’t done a lot of testing at 200, preferring to play at 300-400(shooting to the limits of the range I have access to😉), but have a 40XB that didn’t seem to have issues holding 1” at 200 with a bunch of us watching my friend driving it. Again, that’s perhaps an exceptional factory gun, I dunno, it came from the CMP. You already know my Bergara had no issues shooting sub 3” groups at 300y, and at least one fellow who didn’t believe it possible later posted his own groups far tighter from a custom Rim-X, so there’s that. Attitude affects how we shoot, and not everyone has a test bed to eliminate human input, thus we have good days and bad. I think if you believe something isn’t possible, you may not see the best results.
I believe ammo today isn’t what it was even 20 years ago, but I believe rifles are far better. If the ammo can catch back up, maybe the grand days of exceptional mid grade fodder will get more of us out there tripping triggers!
I actually believe that current high end ammo is much better. They have improved bullet shape and the upper tier is more consistent. Back 20-30 years ago 100yrd accuracy was nowhere near as good as it is now.
