Rifle Competition Events Cleaning for Competitions

I change cleaning techniques as the barrel wears in. My 6 BR crossed over 1200 rounds at the last match. I noticed a dry patch was starting to drag more than it used to in the first 4-5 inches forward of the chamber after my usual C4 and brush routine. Under a bore scope I could see I had layering building, so I thoro-cleaned that area a little to smooth it out and the bore scope shows it is just about all gone but for the corners of the grooves. Velocity had built from 2720 to 2745 in those 1200 rounds and after this cleaning I am down around 2710. I'll be going to the range today to verify drops w/ adjusted data using the new velocity. The second objective will be to see if the velocity builds back up quickly or if it will be a slow climb.

So to answer your questions,
Do most of you feel like getting all the loose shit out of the bore is cleaning?
>For the most part, yes.

Do you think you need to strip it down to steel to be clean?
>Not unless "clean enough" isn't working.

What have you experienced performance wise doing different methods?
>I found that sometimes it's not the cleaning method but the powder that makes things screwy but for solely "changes due to cleaning" my experience has been a slight loss in velocity, usually around 10-15% from what it was before cleaning. Then as the barrel is fired it will slowly speed back up as it becomes more fouled.

If your groups go to shit, I feel that it's likely one of two things occurred.
1: The powder is slow for the caliber/bullet combo and the clean barrel is not currently building the pressure to give you the performance your used to yet.
2: Barrel may be near end of life and cleaning removed more than just fouling

Kestrel Meters Ballistics Official Thread

After a rather disappointing back and forth with Kestrel support, the current Link for Windows app can't tell between certain new and old hardware revisions. They wouldn't provide the correct firmware via email even when I gave them all of the identifiers from unit.
Their current stance is use android or iOS.
Unfortunately, I cannot use iOS becuase I have a non-link unit, so it does not have Bluetooth. I am on version 1.49, which is perfectly fine, but I would like to have the new update that has the 5 yard increments on the range card.

White Oak Armament knows exactly what it takes to make award winning gas guns.
The barrel nut is important. Which is why they use a massive steel barrel nut on their builds.
Bought this for a precision AR build. Assembled the upper. Never even shot it. So I’m parting it out.

Firearms Colt M2012 .308 Rifle

Up for sale is a lightly used Colt M2012 in 308. Probably has 500 rounds through it, mostly of norma or federal match ammo. This is the model that has a spiral fluted barrel. The original muzzle brake has been replaced with one made by my local gunsmith, he also coated the rifle as well. I added a area419 rail and adjustable cheek rest to it. Will not come with a mag unless I can find the original 5 round mag. Could add a lightly used 10 round mag for an additional fee. Asking 1700 shipped and insured to your ffl. I would rather they accept from a private individual, if not please add $25 for the transfer fee from my ffl.

Payment via PP, Venmo, or USPS MO

BTT, Price drop - $1500 shipped

Ukraine war Bullshit.

What's wrong?
33 pages before my appearance and the previous thread with lies were completely satisfactory to you?
Isn't there a corpse lying on the central square there?
Aren't there rituals held there with the presence of officials?
Doesn't the team from Olgino work here?
Who are the people who pretend to be native americans but choose specifically russian words (very unusual words for the average American) for their nicknames and who are unable to logically explain it?
Are you simply ashamed of the Moscow faggot brothers?

Native Americans? I do not think that phrase means what you think it means.

Shop Sako blow:

Connor,
I bought my first Sako TRG 22 from you guys about 15 years ago, it's an absolute hammer.

Euro Optic used to sell Factory Sako TRG ammunition in 6.5 CM, specifically with 136 grain Lapua Scenar bullets. I haven't seen you guys or anyone else carry that specific ammo in a long time, but I have seen it on recent YouTube videos. Any chance you guys are going to start carrying that again? I hate to ask you to look into it, but that was the only ammo I ever bought that made me consider not reloading for 6.5 Creedmoor.

“Texas Plinking” 1 MOA/1K Yard Challenge Videos

Nice shooting considering the wind! Normally I wouldn't even make the trip to the range if that was in the forecast. I'll be making the trip there in a couple of weeks and hoping for a calmer day!
That week we had fairly calm winds, 5-10 mph but when I got up Saturday morning the flag on my house was standing at attention! I knew it was going to be tough at the range. His range is wide open other than right at the shooter (protected by trees and trucks) and right at the target. Between shooter and target is lower than both so our bullets are much higher than the grass on the ground. Thankfully his new berm was fluffy, dry and visible so I was able to spot my misses. I initially dialed for 1.7Mil of wind but first shot was 1Mil right. I held that to get the impact. Never could connect on the 5", even after recording a shot 10 rounds at it and scared it good, but still no impacts. My reticle almost fully covers the 5" target. May think about changing scopes for more magnification and thinner reticle lines or a floating dot.

Either way, it was a lot of fun, glad I did it. Super thankful to my buddy Chad at Custom Reloads of Dallas for his help in load development. He's a great guy so if any of y'all are in need of precision ammo, hit him up.
