Ukraine war Bullshit.

I am by no means an expert in this realm but I don't think we sent them the latest and greatest.
I'm sure you are correct. Just like the F16s that were sent, I'm sure a lot was early generation stuff.

For example from what I have researched on the MIRV that hit the undergrond facility in Dnipro last November, pieces from it have been recovered and are being looked at.
No shit? !
I knew they/we weren't letting much if anything out about that Oreshnik strike. They must have excavated a hell of a hole to get to one of them!

Is bedding the AR barrel a myth? What's the best way?

It's not hard to knock out a barrel glued in with green loctite. I woukd trust jb with .002 clearance to stiffen the connection more than silicone. I trust green loctite bearing retaining compound more.

I do make sure I don't have a problem child barrel before gluing, but a little heat and and oak dowl they come back out with out much fuss.

Australia bans machetes

At 25 degrees does it hold an edge or are you constantly sharpening?
To tell the truth, I haven't chopped very much with it. What I have chopped; small branches and brush, the blade has performed really well.

To emphasize this, I got the earlier version which probably had about a 40-45 degree grind. That really sucked. So a shallower, 25 degree grind was applied.

For any sort of cutting jobs, I use the Silky Japanese pull saws. If you haven't used them, I encourage you to give them a try because they beat any other manual saw by a wide margin.

For chopping, I use the Cold Steel Kukri. I have an older version with the San Mai steel. I also have other Kurkis from Kailash Blades in Nepal which are great.

I like the Cold Steel gladius, not for chopping, but it's a cheap ass short sword.

You are mistaken.

You should look up the history of SA and who settled it.

Look up Rhoedesia also and what happened when the people were kicked out by the animals

The opposite- the "Animals" were told to leave, but they stuck around because it was easier to steal than work. Can you imagine any of these guys could have agricultural laborers for a penny-a-day plus house servants to do their laundry and cook their food if they stayed in jolly 'ol growing turnips?

The People had to forcibly Remove-Yorkshire-Pudding.

These Scum who are leftover should just be gentlemen about it and start honest lives in their home countries- we don't need them in the United States.

Are all Venezuelan illegals criminals....oh...

The salient fact is that they are here illegally. If they were not here that young soldier would still be alive, and you can't talk your way around that, because some drunk redneck could have done that same thing, because they didn't. The illegal aliens did. They are guilty of negligent homicide, manslaughter, whatever, but the damage is done, and it shouldn't have been, and we have to stop this by getting them all OUT!

If they self deport they are basically given amnesty, a clean slate, for their previous crimes and can apply for a visa/citizenship like anyone else. That is far more generous than they deserve. I'm sure the family of the deceased wouldn't agree with me, but I say remove them to Venezuela rather than pay to feed and house them for years in the penitentiary.

In Venezuela they will get released and become folk heroes. I would gladly pay to keep that bitch in a 3x6 cage with the light on 24x7x365 for 60 years. That is probably too good for her… but there ya go.

Glacier / land slide.

There was no global warming when a mountain slipped and completely buried a town somewhere in Wasgington or Oregon.

I'm not a true believer when it comes to climate change. Yes, the climate is changing but humans have nothing to do with a normal climate cycle that has been proven to exsist before 7 billion peaople arrived. Thank goodness that our tecchnology allowed the entire town to live through it.

Rifle Scopes 2.5-20x50 NX8 or 4-16x42 ATACR for 18” DMR

It kinda is. . . . .
but that is exactly why they can get the great performance and forgiving characteristics out of it.
It's not big just to be big.

The Dark Lord of Optics/ @koshkin has been on a few podcasts discussing the optical design limits and what is typically penalized when trimming down physical size (length).

He even specifically discusses scopes larger objective lens and short lengths from the turret housing to the front of the objective. . . which is exactly describing the NX8 2-20. . . .

The 4-16x42 ATACR isn't small but it is very forgiving in actual use with huge depth of focus and great resolution.
And don't let any old school fuds tell you the 42mm front end won't perform in low light.
I'll go on the record that 4-16x42 and 7-35x56 are the best of the ATACR line and the best that Nightforce offers.

I used to own the 4-16x42 with Mil-R when it first popped up. Loved that scope.

Cleaning High Performance Rifle Barrels - Video

Ask Mark here (shoots mostly short range BR and I got him into F class as well) and Mark currently holds two or three world records in BR.

He will tell you... he cleaned one of our barrels (prior to him working here) following Tony Boyers procedure for cleaning with Iosso. Mark wrecked the barrel with one cleaning and he only had like a couple hundred rounds on it. After he cleaned it with Tony's way... it never shot the same.

New MPVO - Zero Tech 1.5-12x36 FFP Vegence HD

Understood. Are you referring to the optics on this thread or the one you mentioned?

My response was to the statement challenging other companies to come up with a similar 1.5-12X range optics. I was just pointing out that the March 1.5-15X42 already exists, and has been around fir while already.

That said, it's always a good thing for other manufacturers to come up with new offerings, at various price points.
The one I mentioned. I have no connection with Zerotech. March 1.5-15x is a very nice scope (I have one here and use it quite a bit), but dual FP and 10x erector introduce limitations and advantages all at the same time. For some applications, that's the right balance. For others, it is better to do things a little differently.

Most importantly, it is a $3k scope. That limits who it is for, definitionally.

I’m a 71 year old boomer that refused the jab. I figured out it was shady from the jump.
I’m happier than a pig in shit that I never got the jab , nor ever put on a face diaper.
I do have a fresh supply of Ivermectin , going to get my niece , a Veterinarian , to figure a dose for me and my arthritis . She’s a proponent of using it big time.👍
Her and her hubs wouldn’t take the jab either.

Maybe this is helpful.
You are going to be glad you tried it

What happened here? Case blew up, magazine disintegrated

Well I'm just lucky I guess lol. Thousands of these fired and before this only the odd dud.

As someone suggested I mentioned it to CCI and they asked for lot numbers and pictures and have been quite communicative.

I cleaned the bore again and it looks fine. I got quite a few more gophers after this happened.

Only real damage is the lost magazine spring, which unfortunately Tikka doesn't sell. That is not at all surprising as the firing pins are known to break and they don't sell those either only a complete assembly for $115CAD! Sorry, I'm still a bit sore about the cost of a firing pin.
Yeah I should of mentioned what questions they'd ask you. My buddy called them and their first question was "Are you okay?". I'd keep all records and keep all POC names. They were real good with my buddy. We both worked in ammunition/ firearms manufacturing so we spoke on what we knew. I'd just keep things simple and honest. They appreciate that and should treat you fair/ well.

Thank you for this info. Will try this starting today
I had 4 of my vertebrae fused together 3 years ago and I still have a constant ache.
I took the ivermectin when I got sick and noticed my back ache went away.
3 days of ivermectin will get me a week of pain free. I do it once a week now

Cleaning High Performance Rifle Barrels - Video

This makes a lot of sense to me. Thanks for taking the time to explain.

I find it interesting and a bit confusing that Bartlein claims that paste type cleaners can leave the barrel too smooth. I understand from a tribologal perspective how that might be the case if you’re worried about surface roughness acting as a resovoir for lubricant but I don’t understand otherwise how a barrel could be “too smooth”.

I do understand their fear of dimensional change through the abrasive of the paste but in my experience it takes a hell of a lot of force and a more abrasive media to do that in a short amount of time.

You wouldn't believe how fast a shooter can wreck a barrel from cleaning. I've seen it where a shooter only cleaned the barrel as little as two times.

Also picture a shooter where he's only shot a 110 rounds on the barrel... cleaned it and took a full .001" out of the bore. Not only does he complain to us but then blames the bullet maker for bad bullets/bullets failing and it all went back to cleaning damage.

Also by making the bore too smooth with using abrasive cleaners too much.... the bullet/copper wants to stick to the bore more is the best way I can describe it. If the copper is building up in layers (like plating) and especially on tops of the lands...that is typically the accuracy killer. A smidge here and there on the lands not a big deal. Same with the grooves... copper in the grooves and the barrel doesn't seem to care.

Mark here was down shooting at the super shoot last week. Number one topic came up was cleaning of course. Mark told the group that was all sitting there BS... the number one thing we see is the misuse or overuse of abrasive cleaners.

If forget the actual number but test have been done and measuring the throat that after each time an aggressive abrasive has been used... the throat advances a .001" each time.

I have two hang ups with Litz's video when using JB.... No bore guide is one and the other is you don't need that much JB on a patch to clean/keep the carbon in check.
