Let’s talk carbon fiber stocks

I have a Peak 44 Bastion with an Origin short action and 20” 300 WSM barrel. It’s new to me, but I really like it so far. Bedding was easy and its silly light. Peak 44 is also very responsive with questions via email or phone which is nice these days. I had this barreled action in a weighted KRG-B for load development and only recently put it in the Bastion and was surprised to find the recoil not being bad at all for the weight drop and it grouped better. That’s a win win. I’ve held a Gamewarden at Bruno’s and it was nice. I have no experience with the others.

223 Powder Issues

I've always considered it kind of a natural law that if a 223 Rem won't shoot well using a 50-55gn bullet and either 25-ish gn H335 or 26-ish gn W748... either the gun or the shooter is defective.

The center gate at our property is named Don't Shoot because I decided to bring out a 556 with Barnes bullets as we had seen a bunch of pigs and no bucks. My buddy objected. I did it anyway. I promptly saw the best buck I've ever seen on our property 187 yards away while holding a 14.5" 556 with an old 51T mount/M42K I didn't fully trust to hold true. I didn't shoot. I should have brought anything else.

Yeah, with all the scammers even targeting our members I can see that being an issue. I don’t have a problem with having to sign for it, just wish I would have known that even with a My Choice account with UPS that I pay for that this shipper, Euro, has everything so locked down that I have no choices. And yes, it is the shipper, Euro, who has it locked up this way, not UPS. I strongly suspect Euro has gone this route because of UPS being difficult to get to cover loss claims, but it can make things very difficult for the receiver.

Reference pics below that it’s the shipper who has tied UPS’s hands in this situation, some of which I understand and some of which I don’t; I’m not sure why I can’t have it held or change the delivery date to 7/29, which would be the 4th business day, when I am actually at home. They tried to deliver today and no one was home. This is a screen shot from my My Choice account.

All I’m saying is, if you order from Euro, call them, see when it will ship, get an estimate of when it will arrive, and make sure you will be on the poach waiting for the brown truck, as you have no other options. Period.
