I’ve been waiting to see how those loads performed in hot weather, I was battling some serious Mirage so I'm going to load up another hundred of that 24.3 and go out early in the morning so my targets aren't dancing around in a mirage.

Yesterday was our first 90° day and my concern was that the TAC not being as temp stable would show pressure spikes at the 24.5gr mark and it did.

I'm still going to do some testing with XBR, with the 73's and 77's when I start load development for the Geissele Heavy Contour Chromed lined barrels.

Here is the data for the 24.5grs of TAC, just broke the 2900fps barrier but starting getting ejector swipes.



Those are definitely impressive numbers, if you look in the other thread I just Updated with a 22 ARC Build (The Green Goblin) the 20" 22 ARC barrel is pushing the 75gr ELD's around 2950fps.

The Geissele 18" SPR Cut Barrel is definitely among the fastest .224 Cal Barrels I own. Looking forward to the results of the 73gr Bergers and ELD's.

Seriously. Just squirt your dose in 8 ounces of water and drink it, easy peasy. Don't put it in juice o4 pepai or nothing. Lots of watwr helps it work. Stay hyddrated

Really shiny brass is the only benefit to using the wet method and pins. The cons to this method is damage (peening) to the neck and the possibility of pins getting stuck in the case. The cons definitely outweigh the pros.
If you want REALLY shiny brass, get out the Brasso.

Back of a pickup truck, with the Brazilian handgun silhouette shooting team, in town for the international meet. 60 miles south of Ft Stockton.
We’d gone to the Cupelo Peak ranch, to prairie dog, and as we were moving to another side of the P Dog town, a jack rabbit bolted out about 100 ft from the truck. Moving at high speed, it angled away from us getting further away by the second. I had a Contender in 223, with muzzle break and a 4 power pistol scope. I was sitting on the rail of the truck, still moving along the rutted two-track. I hollered to stop, followed the Jack, with the scope, getting smaller every second, allowed for a guess lead, and touched it off. The head of the jack came completely off, as the 50gr VMax hit the neck. 227 ft. The Brazilians came unglued. All I could think, was “WTF was I thinking, taking that shot in front of all these serious shooters?”
It was a good F’n thing I didn’t miss. They took 100 P Dogs that day, all with various Unlimited class handguns. I’ll never forget that shot.
