There's nothing inherently wrong with the zev method of attachment(posts and 4-40 screws). The posts act as another set of recoil lugs and allow lower milling of optic. The use of blue loctite is the problem. Degrease all threads and use a product like vibra-tite. It will retain torque and also allow removal better than the thread lockers.

There has been lots of mention of the ACOG and as usual, the assumption is that we're talking about the TA31, 4x. Many forget that there are other ACOGs. My preferred is the TA11, 3.5x model. A little heavier, but still lighter than an LPVO; a little bigger, but still smaller than an LPVO; a little less field of view, but still more than an LPVO and the extra eye relief makes a big difference in the shooting experience. I am also hard pressed to see the difference in magnification between a ta11 and ta31. The TA11 is also great at low light situations.

The only time I use the NX8 is when I think I'll just plain need more magnification.

The estimated buffalo population was also bullshit. They claimed forever that it was 30 million at the point of Europen contact. This was based on one guy observing a single herd travel for a few days, then he came up with some sort of calculation based on the area they occupied and spit out "30 million". The number was actually 5-8 million. Also, the natives were killing the buffalo for tongues just like the Europeans. Entire tribes were dedicated to killing them, just like the buffalo hunters. The last big herd was killed in Canada near the red river by a tribe. There was never a US government or a military policy to eradicate the buffalo. The problem was that Sherman was never in Texas within a decade of that claim being made. He was lying. Nobody else ever claimed to have heard such a speech either. Even the guys who were doing the killing never had any idea they were killing them off. They all believed there were millions more out there wandering around. All of the aforementioned site members have been negative at some point particularly in the most recent couple months. Plenty of passive and direct bashing in other threads. Passion fuels emotion. No big dick contest here, I’m Portuguese so I lose by default….. just calling it how it’s seen.

Good thing we’re talking about a hobby with toy 22’s… no lives in danger, no mortgage at stake…

It’s entertaining seeing all these action updates from the various manufactures. Feels like a race to the moon.

Having both a trued 700 and a few "custom" actions:

You will never be ahead if you buy a 700 to get blueprinted. The only time truing a 700 makes sense is if you already have it. My worked-over 700 locks up like a vault and is a thing to behold...but it is no better than my Origin, and lacks a lot of the features...for what would essentially be the same price.

Then you will want to rebarrel, so the barrel on that rifle becomes a tomato stake immediately.

That Boyd's stock and Nikon scope are two items you'd grow out of pretty quickly too.

A lot of us have been down your road before, and figured out that eating Ramen for a few more months and getting what you truly want the first time around is the best and even cheapest approach in the long run.

LEGO® Set Build
So back in August the Concorde Supersonic Jet that is on display here in NYC at the Intrepid Sea and Space Museum was relocated to undergo some restoration work. It was lifted onto a barge and then tugged down the Hudson around Lower Manhattan and up the East River where it eventually would pass under the Brooklyn Bridge. I am a photographer who has been capturing scenes around the city for years so when I heard this was being moved I went down to Brooklyn Bridge Park and waited for the moment. Took the photo and simply shared to my various social channels and it just blew up on FB with shares everywhere.
