He is tough to listen to. Ive listened to a few of his interviews over the years and they always have a couple what the fuck moments. Reminds of some ranger buddies so its really not his fault I guess.

Not a gun guy, not a ballistics guy and really only talks about what he has observed.

I know SOTIC trained ranger snipers who I have had to help zero their guns and set their shit up. Good guys but they only know what they were told, which was just enough to pull the trigger to mostly get hits on target within a couple shots.

Not uncommon for guys from LE/sniper community to really unimpressed you when it comes to guns/long range employment of the rifle.

I'm definitely going to agree with you on the occasional verified professional not knowing the ins and outs of ballistics etc... to the savants that occasionally grace us on this site.

But my problem comes from fabrication of stories.

It is like anything else in life; You are frequently excused if you don't know something and own up to it. You are not excused for lying or fabricating the truth (unless you're in Congress apparently).

Powder IN-STOCK thread

Stack it deep NOW only going to get very expensive

In my experience stacking it deep can lead to tossing it out later; unfortunately powder doesn't last forever.

I've had several containers of vihtavuori N1XX powders change color and develop a very acrid smell around the 10-12 year mark, whereas I've yet to have that issue with the hodgdon and alliant powders I use. I tried loading some of the "sour" Vihtavuori and besides smelling very weird after the shot the velocity/es/sd were all quite a bit different and very inconsistent compared to earlier data when the powder was fresh. All were stored indoors in the same location and conditions.

I do like to buy cheap and stack deep, but after having to toss that bad vihtavuori and then pay a second time to replace it, when it comes to N1XX series powders I try to keep only enough on hand for a 7ish year supply.

This reminds me, I need to check my inventory of N120 and N133 before the price increase...
