Maggie’s Man's Best Friend Thread

A bit of a watch but worth it. I think that at the deepest level our dogs love us because of reward/food. The video seems to agree. It takes on other beautiful aspects, but that how the first ones got tamed probably. Cave individuals sitting around a kill cooking some meat and a wolf keeps showing up. So for fun you throw him a piece of meat and wolf thinks...hmmmm that beats chasing a deer and getting kicked in the face. And today we have all the beauties in this thread. But its all due to food.

Comey being investigated for wanting to 86 the 47th.

Exactly I was about to post how this is what they want morons to think about instead of the fact they haven’t done shit that will make any changes long term. Everything they’ve done is short term and will be gone after the next election.

As much as it pains me to phrase it this way, make the shit laws or shut the fuck up.

The amount of legislation coming from Congress is mind boggling. If you are an ant.
The excuses as to why are laughble. People blame it on a handful of rinos but they are just convenient. It's the entire party except for a few.

Time pieces/Watches?

When my mother got her nursing degree, we gave her a "nurses watch" which is sorta-like a broach that is pinned to the lapel of the uniform and is actually 'upside down' so that way both hands can be used taking blood pressure and pulse, whilst looking down at the watch second hand.

I hope that initial explanation of what it is and what it does conveys the pragmatism and history of it's uniqueness.

Precision Rifle Gear New Athlon Rangecraft Chronograph-Garmin Xero Killer?

Maybe, maybe not. So far no news from Garmin and they had more than enough time to fix the missing shots.
Actually they made this post here. Mine was missing shots after the 3.30 update but since updating to 3.32 mine is back to working normal again and not missing shots.

Bankruptcy R700 woes

I can't stand to have a short screw in an action. Seems most chassis use a standard length off the shelf screw and sometimes(usually) they only engage 2-3 threads in an action, not the 5 threads that are there. I have an assortment of 1.25, 1.5, and 2" long 1/4-28 socket head screws that I shorten to get 100% use of threads in an action. Maybe ridiculous and not needed, but I still di it.

Sidearms & Scatterguns I think I want a new range belt but don't know which one

I see Blue Alpha has a rig with a 1.5" inner belt which I like. I think I like this one.

PortaJohn

What she is saying is that they are intentionally trying to capitalize on his weakness of hubris and form a blind spot with regards to them, not just favor. They are laying praise on him with a trowel, to quote Shakespeare.

I would be leery of taking all of the pomp and circumstance associated with this visit as being sincere. I rather suspect it is also for manipulation. It isn't hard for governments to do personality tests and do those things that help to create favorable situations for them, both immediately and in the future.

Trump surrenders to AQ Emir

...it seems like you run on emotions instead of facts.

I think you may be a closet liberal(not a terrible thing, you just seem to fit the mold)

???

I'm literally one of the very few conservatives in here. This place is crawling with little-red-book Commies talking bad about the United States and trying to help the Soviets and Red China spread the Communist revolution.

Relevant to this thread though- you know that Abu Mohammed al Jolani is an Emir in al Qaeda, yes?

...or did you get "alternative facts" from some fake news source? (If so, which one?)

Back to the topic at hand:

WHY do you suppose the American President would surrender to AQ, at the command of their leader, to enable the success of one of their Emirs?

What type of coercion are they using to operate him?

Is it positive- gifting the plane, letting him build his Golf course, bailing out Jared's losses in 666 5th Ave, letting him join in one of their headchopper sword dances?

Is it negative- threats against him, his family, his business interests, blackmail via Epstein (we all know it exists, and anyone can bluff actually possessing it), other manipulation?

...or IS IT BOTH?

The only bond market you know about is bail bonds. Your baby momma has got to shop every one them so often she has them on speed dial.

I know about every kind of bond, and bondage.

LOL- you thought your girl fell on her booty 25x last weekend when she went to help her friend study for a final exam?

Lyman M die on 650

I was loading 308win today. Cases are Lapua on their third loading. FL sized, and trimmed with the Dillon rt1500. I put a Lyman M die in station 1 of the loading toolhead, because everything I read said that I would not need to chamfer. Somewhere I went wrong. I was seeing copper shavings after seating. Then re read M die directions, and it said to flare 1/16" at mouth. I am guessing if I go this route I will need to crimp said brass after seating? I had gone this route because everything I had read says the Dillon size/trim die really shrinks the neck and that I needed to expand it back up to .306 and that the M die would do it and also eliminate chamfering. WIN WIN, or so I thought.

The questions I have now are

1) how bad is this going to affect accuracy?
2)Should I just go back to chamfering before going onto the loading toolhead?
3)Is their a better die for this job than the Lyman to expand?
4) Is their a better die to trim with than the Dillon?

NEW From Zermatt Arms - RimX Actions

How’s the new bolt doing?

Perfect to date…
Let my kid borrow it the other day.. after a cleaning, without grease.
He took a brick and didn’t bring much back, so i’m guessing it’s close to 2000 rounds… and the last 500 or so were run dry… 😳

Edit: Pic added. Looks the same as when delivered.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

I already said it.
Martians.

That's right. And not just Nazis but very cunning Nazis, so that no one would guess that they were Nazis, they elected a Jew as president in truly independent elections.
There are synagogues operating throughout Ukraine, a Muslim by faith, a Crimean Tatar, the Minister of Defense, was also chosen for cover.
They did not even officially ban the Moscow Patriarchate of the Orthodox Church, for the same purpose.

You do know that the ultra-nationalists in Ukraine have openly threatened Zelensky's life, right?

Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Wanted something known to run in AA Glock kits to break it in.

Found this at WM, I have not seen it before. Seems to be a 40g version of MM.

Going to try Federal Auto Match since it is 325/$19.99 at WM but reportedly Federal is problematic. Remington Golden Bullets are supposed to run as well.
Those CCI minimags work well in the AA upper. I used them at first for break in also, but I used the 36gr. No worries. Just disassemble the slide, barrel, and lube the heck out of it and she will run. Slow, aimed, supported I had no issues holding a 1" group at 10 yards with a red dot and I'm not a great pistol shooter. After the break in the wife has run a few thousand rounds of Aguila 40 gr thru it without issues as long as I clean it and relube it every couple hundred rounds. I find she hands it off to me to clean or swap the 9mm slide/red dot combo on it for her as she struggles to field strip the Glocks.

Vertical Strings

Hold the trigger back ALL the way through the follow through. No need to crush it, but don’t let it go.

If shots are going high, your rifle’s back end is slipping down in recoil….it “wants” to be lower than you are placing it. So, lower it. Not by actually holding the rifle butt-down, but by slipping the recoil pad down a bit. Then, you shoulder the rifle to what looks right to you and the contact with your shoulder will be lower…down where it would otherwise be sliding to. Thus, no slide under recoil and no shots going high.

^ I like this in bold, and it is easy to tell if you dry fire and notice your reticle moving up a tenth or two.

There is already quite a bit of good information in the responses regarding body position and forward bipod/rest control. I just wanted to add that your rear bag control can also be the culprit...especially if the design of the stock/chassis butt end doesn't interface well with whatever bag you're using - or - if you are letting your rear hand relax at the moment the trigger is breaking, or even if you have inconsistent rear bag pressure... Those will always cause a high flyer.

KRG Midas trigger

After a good 100 dry fires the Midas actually feels better than the first initial pulls. I reduced the weights to 2.90 total with an even 50/50 split between 1st and 2nd stages. It feels excellent ! Very happy so far. I wasn't exactly feelin it in the beginning, but now it's the shizzel.
