Bankruptcy R700 woes

Your brass looks fine, your sticky bolt may be from a front action screw that is a tad long. You changed stocks, minor fitting can be required.

When going from stock to stock, the action screws can need fitting.

-way back when HS precision was cool, I had a stock take a dump, HS sent me a replacement stock. The original action screws were a tad short and the replacements screws were too long (hs ships new action screws with their stocks).

There should be a mark on the bolt lug if the screw is too long.

If unsure:

Take a marker or paint and coat the top of the front screw, reassemble the gun and work the bolt, if the paint is in the bolt or paint is missing from the screw then the lugs are making contact with the front action screw.

Brass looks fine. Is there any galling/wear on the bolt lugs on the back side of lugs? Might be as simple as a lack of lube or a rough mating surface for the lugs.

House Budget Proposal to remove Tax on Suppressors but not remove it from the NFA

Makes me think more and more that someone with a vested interest in making and selling suppressors is pushing this...Otherwise people like me would file a bunch of form 1s, print up some and carbon fiber wrap them. When one wears out, toss it and put on a new one. I would put in for dozens and have a suppressor for every rifle, with a spare ready to go...
Of course it is.

Machine tools and the internet ruined the plans. Anyone can learn. Took me less than 6 months, on a 1950 lathe covered in old shop grime, to turn out my first Ti/17-4 masterpiece.

I'd build 2 for every weapon if it wasn't for the paperwork. The kings men know this.

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake ruins muzzle crown

Pictures would help.

I think it might be plausible depending on load, pressure, etc. but also the nature of a clamp-on brake might leave gaps or similar internal features near the muzzle that “might” cause gas to blow back or create some kind of vortex or the like that could erode or work at the muzzle.

If, instead of venting gas out as a brake, it was channeling gas right back at the muzzle because of a constriction or an internal design… maybe plausible.

Again, pictures of the brake, the wear and, especially, the brake would be imoortant to see. And an idea of brake-crown fit. Also, what kind of crown? Reverse dish? Straight across? Standard sporting crown? All can have a different effect on how high pressure, high velocity hot gas flows! And if the combination of factors is coming together at the muzzle in a certain way, it could be setting up some kind of a consistent laminar flow that always channels gasses along the exact same areas of the muzzle/crown…. If this is happening, I could see the potential for damage over time. IF.

Last, anything clamped on a barrel of a precision rifle is trouble waiting to happen. You do not want to “clamp” things on to the OD because of the very nature of the internal ballistics and barrel dynamics.

Hopefully the OP can post pictures because I’m certainly interested in what is happening!

House Budget Proposal to remove Tax on Suppressors but not remove it from the NFA

Take a win, even if you think it’s not enough. Removing a $200 fee, that has been in effect for 90 years, is a pretty big step in the right direction.

Everyone I know who does not own a suppressor, has listed the wait time and the cost of the stamp as their reasons. With wait times down, the possibility of the stamp price going away removes the second big barrier for people. I’ve never had someone tell me they don’t own a suppressor because of the fingerprints or the paperwork.
This is not a win. This is being patronized. They literally have the opertunity and power to do exactly what they say they want to do but they refuse. Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining. Don't give me this, oh it's a little better shit. Just like, "we're big bad repbulicans and if you put us in power we gonna repeal obamamcare. ""well we got rid of the individual mandate." Same shit smeared on a diffrent cookie.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

2. That wasn't Ukraine national Guard. That was NATO mercs.

3. The only thing that stalled the armored colums was blown bridges and flooded wet lands. The area surrounding Kiev is low lying wet lands. North of the city is a massive reservoir. They blew bridges and opened the spill way, armored columns can't move through flooded wet lands. Thats why Bucha was destroy and about the furthest the west part the Russia advance made it. And they fucked that place up.

Try to toss it to the Russians ran out of gas is fucking retarded.

Kiev's Geography makes it a very hard city to storm. It be akin to trying to take New Orleans through a swamp. Especally when you flood the area with very few Roads in... you ain't getting shit through that.

THAT IS WHAT SAVED KIEV. NOT RUSSIA INCOMPETENT OR TrUmP giving them a couple so Anti tank missiles.

4. Biden N Co are not in Cahoots with Putin. Please stop with that insanity.

Are you really going to counter CIA propaganda with facts?
Remember the saying, "Facts don't matter. We have our truth". That's what we're dealing with here.

They wanted a defacto ban on anything more concealable than a sporting rifle or shotgun.

It's been well documented.

You are indeed correct! And I had forgotten about the attempt in Roosevelt that also helped get the ball rolling. Talk about an attempted overreach!

Thanks for that! I learned something!
