Pencil or heavy? I have a pencil and it will start to walk if shot too fast, so I am having to do multiple 3 shot groups with a significant cool down time between each group.
It's the "heavy" barrel offering, although it's not really really heavy.

I've started thinking about maybe getting a new aftermarket barrel.

Tac Ops Rifles

Hide Members I spoke with Wally at W.E. Birdsong the other day and he wanted to offer the Hide members a group discount on his Black-T and other Colors he is offering.

If you mention Tac Ops name when you call or send your firearms in you could get a complete handgun done for $125.00 ( Plus Shipping and Handling on the return ) and $175.00 on a long rifle. I believe an AR platform maybe around $250 or so with the discount you need to ask him… Glock complete uppers should be $110 with the discount.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I've 2 scopes on order, both will get piggy backed dots.
One's the Steiner H6xi 2-12 . It checks a lot of boxes, price is reasonable and I like Steiner turret system, I can't imagine ever having it set below 6 or 8X so I'm choosing to not worry about usability at 2X.
The other is the Vector Optics Continental 2-12x44,same as llamas mentioned, because it's very inexpensive and their 5-30X56 and 6-24X56 were startlingly impressive for the cost. ($379 on Dvor, not typical, they're normally $599), and they've held up very well so far.
The 4-24 is the rattle canned tan one between the Vudu and my AC, the 5-30 is between my 5-30 Steiner and my Trijicon 1-8.
I don't have any ZT or TT experience, but out to 300 yards, which is my regular, the glass seems pretty even with my more expensive scopes, the locking turrets feel actually great and the zoom and parallax controls are the smoothest of any of my scopes, period.

The 2-12 is on Amazon, so if it is an utter shit fest, return will be painless. I imagine it's going to be very Athlon like, but I like the locking turrets on the Vector

Edit- just seen it cheaper at Eurooptic....ah welll.

Hunting

Scouting often and waaay before the deer season opener seems paramount.
If you say so. Every job I've ever worked has a couple dudes that somehow spend 12 months a year hunting or preparing to hunt. And then a guy or two that stumbles out to a stand opening morning, smoking, hungover, puking everywhere, wearing the same dirty clothes they've been in for 3 days.
Without fail the guys that don't care are more successful than the guys with thousands of dollars in scent blocker.
Been this way for the couple decades I've been paying attention.

Training Courses Colorado Precision Rifle Summer/Fall 2025 Classes

Had a great week with Colorado Precision Rifle last month for their Level 2 and Steel Safari prep courses at Cameo.
Second trip out training with Brian and Steve.

Students from all over the country with hunting, work and competition rifles.

A very calm, adult learning environment in an outstanding location.
This was our second time training with CPR. Thanks for your time brother.

Nice backstop.

6.5 Grendel

26.4 gr N133 with Sierra 100 gr Varminter HP in Hornady 1x brass

24.8 gr N133 with Sierra 107 gr Match King in Hornady 1x brass

24.5 gr N133 with Sierra 120 gr Match King in Hornady 1x brass

These worked well in 16" Lilja and 20" OdinWorks barrels. N133 burns very clean, low SD, low ES, but not as speedy as IMR 8208 XBR or Alliant AR-Comp might be with same projectiles.

I have a load test waiting on my lazy self, for N133 and Hornady 100gr ELD-VT. I'll add that later after it's been run and I sort best charge.
What are your velocities with those loads

Work compensation --how would you handle this?

In this tight labor market, the next job almost always pays more. Recruitment budgets are a lot bigger than retention budgets.

Companies have to feel the burn of financial losses after a good employee leaves before they get the message. Then, they will pay even more for your entry level replacement, plus what it costs to train them on top of that. This proves that they had the money to compensate you properly all along.

Your take on what our (society) future looks like...

I am, by no means, rich, but I worked for everything I have. Bought a house at the right time, it's up about a million from when I bought it. Kids now said don't want to work, I can't tell you how much I hate some of my younger employees. I love when they tell me they do real-estate and socially media on the side... yet they are working for me making 20 bucks an hour...
@LuckyDuck you can blame politicians! Here in CA making fast food workers starting wages at $20 an hour. Great so I get to spend 35% more for line staff. Then those same idiots who vote for these idiots democrats wonder why their rent keeps going up! Ha ha I had one ask for a 6 dollar an hour wage increase, thats 10K plus more a year and yet she had the most OT and DT in my dietary department.
I work in Healthcare so you suckered keep paying your Medicare, and dont wonder why Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing costs so much. You allowed your loser kids and grandkids to be li real idiots, its now costing you!

Thank You Mike
A video pointing to and explaining parts and function would really be helpful. Yes I am trying to get spring power down in relation to hit depth while minimizing FTF’s. I also want to minimize vibration’s.
I use no lube on pin especially in spring area. Grease on back of 3 lugs is about it. Should pin be polished in spring area. I’m trying to shoot smaller groups in relation to score. I also need to shrink strike depth variation.
Thank You Mike for all the help and a great product.

Perfect, you’re dialed in and on a good path. I’ll get the video squared away asap.
