Because the amount of control you would need to have is more complex than you think.
You can’t just do a thing. You’ll be labeled a domestic terrorist. You’ll be taken away and thrown in a black hole somewhere, assuming you’re not killed doing whatever it is you want others to do.

You need organization. Order. Leadership. Clear and effective objectives to make progress towards a defensive and well resourced enemy, namely the government I presume.

Because you would need to commit to war. And to be able to war, you would also need to garner the support, resources, numbers of variably skilled individuals, and logistics to wage your war.

Allowed is not the word. Tolerated is more accurate. And what was the 2A written for? To wage war whenever you don’t agree with something? That’s what the opposing side with feel, say and think. Whoever you think is the enemy also thinks they’re the good guys.

250gr a-tip clocked at 1009 m/s, that was only thing odd when i've fired a shot and with my left eye saw the numbers i was like omg that was 140m/s more than it should be and the next comment was "that action aint gonna open" . Well next few minutes sure were interesting to say the least as action with some wooden convincing actually opened and bolt was then tapped out.
Everything was contained and the only reason it broke was because case head simply could not hold the pressure and maybe its designed to give way there. Everything else was OK, barrel had to be cut and milled out as it didn't budge via conventional means.
It really got scary after the fact when we've seen the amount of damage and based on speed you can easily calculate the pressure with Quickload at its peak (RS60 powder which is i think Reloder 17). Better to be lucky than smart i guess moment. One life down i wonder how many left...

Wow, I remember talking to Ian when Kelbly's switched from the gate style extractor to the Sako style they now use. The change had some big cost and function advantages but the biggest concern was ensuring the Sako extractor could not escape and become a projectile in an over-pressure situation. This involved some testing to failure. I think you hit some higher pressures than the test action I saw though. Wow, that is scary stuff. I'm glad everything held together. From an engineering standpoint the deformation on those lugs looks excellent. Lots of defformation before a catastrophic failure. The case head staying intact instead of rupturing is also a big plus both for the case maker and for the case head support on the Kelbly bolt design. Did the lip peice of the case head support that broke loose beside the extractor cut stay contained in the action body?

I still have my Sako Quad. It currently exists with a Lilja 17HMR barrel and serves as a sage rat/ ground squirrel gun. Love the thing. Can still source parts and it still just shoots.
