300 yard consistency

Not realistic to think you can consistently hold sub moa at 300yds with a 22lr...just too many variables come into play. I strive for gun/ammo combo that can hold that at 200, beyond that it is what it is on any given day.
This X 1000

There’s a reason there aren’t national BR comps at 300.

22rf is “a shoe box” at 300 if you shoot enough no matter what you spend.

Vudoo closed the doors…

What rimfire action do you think feels better? Looking at going a different route and interested in your experience
RimX by far. I started with a Bergara and then upgraded to the RimX. Hell even the Bergara felt better to me than any Vudoo I've ever shot.

Although I would wait till they get their current issue with the bolts ironed out before buying.

KMW & TAC OPS Poss Second Go Around

Good morning all.
Checking in with an update.

This project is totally waiting on me.
Per previous posts, the lockup for the folding stock of the Zealot is being tweaked. The original wasn't bad. In fact it was quite good. But I was not happy with it so here we are. . . .

While we were in the assembly model, I tweaked a few tiny things that I would not have changed had we not already been in CAD modifying the model. Most would never notice some of the updates but they will cumulatively make the Zealot chassis even more rugged as well as smoothing out some assembly steps.

The latch buttons are already machined, nitrided and delivered to KMW. Just that part is over $6,500.00 in inventory sitting here. That combined with the inventory of other custom springs, Z-latches, etc. that is staying the same makes for a juicy carrot dangling on the end of the string for us to get this done ASAP.

Final tweaks on the fixturing and tool path programing are being made.
We may finally be getting close.

Thank you for your patience and have a great week.

Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Hmm... Now THIS is an oddity for sure. I'd call it the 'platypus of firearms'. It's got the bird's head grips of a Colt Lightning revolver, the semi-rolling block action of the 1866 Remington Rider Parlor Derringer, a tubular magazine of a lever rifle, and a pump action. In a pistol. From Tippmann Ordnance, the creators of the .22LR Gatling Gun. This is their upcoming "Pirate Pistol". Cal: .380 ACP.

I can DEFINITELY see this as a niche piece that would be more used in movie and TV production and secondary as a range piece. It would fit quite well into the post-apocalyptic sci-fi "Wasteland" western or space-western genres...

What a missed opportunity to chamber it in 10mm or .50 AE

Any reason you never see builds on Winchester Actions?

Some M70 (and FN SPR) stuff we've done. (new and old)

Need UPS for FX120i

Zero drift is a function primarily associated with the temperature of the electronics in the scale/balance. It comes from two sources, the initial powering up of the electronics when the scale is turned on and changes in ambient temperature. It is important to remember that the drift is not detectable below the resolution of the display. In the days before digital scales common practice was to zero the scale before every item weighing. The only time it is not advisable to use the auto zeroing function is when trying to trickle very small charges from 0 grains (or other units) as the scales lock for small deviations and slow change around that zero. The zeroing function is independent of calibration. Rezeroing a scale does not require re-calibration. However, the scale should be recalibrated prior to each use.

Digital scales are not overly sensitive to power source noise and when they are affected it normally displays as erratic readings not a bias in any one direction. Cell phones, CFL and shop lighting is not a likely source of issues. In the case of force balance scales they can be affected if the source is very close to the scale, particularly if the pan or material is magnetic.

Badlands "Shell Shock" 5.56 - snake oil?

It might be worth keeping some of the 77gr Black Arc around for those special occasions when I just need a bit more. Oddly, in my 16", having zero for the 77gr AAC is spot on with the Black Arc at 100. Right on in windage and within a tenth or two on elevation.
I don't know, every time I think I'm gonna keep something extra spicy around for special occasions I end up being annoyed that I need to develop and use entirely different dope for it, and then when the performance increase is only incrementally better I give up and just go back to one standard heavy bullet load.

allegedly, i have a 40x converted and built by Black Ops Precision. i dont reget having that at all, but ive had it for 8-10 years.

i have PM'd you before on this 40x conversion above. i still have the magazines with the spade on it. any way to confirm you did the work and built it? i have pictures and would like to discuss this old build with you, if you are willing.

Thanks in advance.
Hey Dude, I was away for a while and came back after lots of recent outreach. Shoot me a PM, I'm sticking around for a bit.

Vudoo must have been a fairly mismanaged company to go this way. I should have waited some more before getting into rimfire 😆 I feel like a dummy picking one up within the last 6-7 months.

Yep. I would like to have all those too. I hadn’t bothered to pick up spares yet.

Check your PMs.

Hunting & Fishing Cayuga" Hunting Bullets

The DA when I was shooting was close to zero. 12.2C @29.92Hg @156 MSL. My Proof barrel is a true 1:8, as I measured and confirmed it as soon as I got it.
Took a couple measurements to make sure my process was good. Rifling engaged, rod spinning as soon as I started to push, lubed bearings etc.

Looks to be right at 8. Most of my measurements were 8 or barely under. Had one at 8-1/16 but that was before I lubed bearings as this rod sat in the garage a bit.

Camera is centered so it makes it look like lines are inside of 8 on either end but it’s actually pretty dead on to just a hair under 8.
Hmmm sounds like we have some sort of larger issue here then, that's good info. Thank you.
