Man what you stated is right on the mark! It's pretty insane no one has built a super stout pcp repeater yet. The potential is already present for pcp's to out do 22rf using current slug designs and as a bonus super low SD too.I love the idea of the slugs catching up to rimfires, but as you said, we need some actual air rifles that can be consistent. Air rifles might have consistent ammo unlike rimfires, but rimfires have consistent rifles.
Take for example that Skout… I have never seen an air rifle have so many problems just to fill the dang gun and stay filled! Accurate but a pain to deal with. Seems like FX has a few rifles that have excelled in slugs, but their reg issues and wondering POI issues keep them from being consistent enough to actually compete with rimfires too.
It is nice to pull the CZ out with its favorite ammo and know I will have zero issues.
I've already mentioned it here on SH but those 25 cal Altaros 60gr are noticeably superior in the wind at longer distances than 22rf standard velocity because of the .245 G1 BC they have. In windier conditions I can stay on the steel with these more whereas not so much with 22rf.
Firearms wise at long range a loose comparison could be like a 223 using 77's/22rf vs a 6mm Dasher using 105's/60gr Altaros slugs.
