The A/R wheels are 'take-offs' from the other daughter's Firebird until she decides what she wants, but may stay on because
'it's like what Dad had on his' .
We were originally going to do the build together, but age and health have diminished my confidence in a successful project...especially when it is her money at stake.

It's not a earth shaking project....but it's a big deal to her.
She's dreamed of this for 20 yrs now.

That intake is going to make it a tight fit for the hood on the air cleaner. There's a drop style air cleaner for the Holley carburetor that will give you a bit of extra room.

My bet is that somewhere between 41.5 - 43.5gr of Varget, IMR-4064, or Reloader 15 will shoot to the best of your barrels potential with 168-178gr bullets.

It is a great cartridge to load for.

Those threads in all forums are kryptonite now. The CGN one was locked/deleted also. They expose too much reality. The fact that they are scrubbed, even on conservative forums, informs the noticer about the real world here in the west.

Alpha had a bad batch of 6GT. My buddy bought some a month or two directly from Alpha and they contacted him to replace it.

And on topic, for me Alpha is in the same tier as Lapua for me. I'm happy with either and glad both are available options.

Hope this is just a bad piece of brass or I figure out something I am missing that caused it.

It could be bad brass, but 90% of the time it is caused by excess head space, either in your rifle or the one your "once" fired brass came from.. If your loading for more than one 6.5 Creed your technique is great, since they have to fit multiple chambers. However, if your reloading for just one 6.5 Creedmoor, your bolt action Bergara, then the best case gauge is your rifle's own chamber.

To do that you must neck size only. Then test a dummy round to see if it fits. If it does, it does not need a shoulder bump yet. If it does not fit, then do a partial FL resize, in small increments, until that case just fits.

You may have a chamber that's on the large end of SAAMI tolerances and a resizing die that's on the small end of SAMMI tolerances. At least this is a easy and inexpensive way to check how your brass fits before you bump it back .002 or whatever. It's trouble shooting 101.

Next day I get a text asking for a google review. Happy to.
