Retesting some reloads today. Very odd results!

Worked up a few great rifle loads last week. SD'S anywhere from 2-6. ES anywhere from 5-10. Reloaded the same this week. Same powder and charge, brass and primers and seating depth with same bullets and A&D 120 scale and Garmin Chrono. Well I must say this shocked me. SD'S were running in the 20's and ES was anywhere from 30-60. How can this be? I can't figure this one out! All Alpha Brass was prepared at the same time. FL sized with neck bushing and then ran a mandrel thru them before reloading. Am I missing something here?

Is the March FX 4.5-28x52 my new ZCO?

They sure make em sound nice on the internet but they did with the 3-24x52s back when as well. And that was a $3k POS. Fool me once..
The March 4.5-28x52 is in a different league vs. the 3-24x52 - meaning it is considerably better optically and with the new Shuriken turrets mechanically as well. Just because one scope from a manufacturer may struggle doesn't mean they all do. I think I explained some of the shortcomings of the 3-24x52 in my high magnification review I did a few years ago where I mention that I think it makes a great 3-20 scope but optically struggles above 20x. This is typically what I see from 8x and higher erector scopes, the sweet spot tends to be much more defined vs. shorter erector designs that tend to be more forgiving. For this reason I am skeptical of the new Kahles K540i but early reports say it is a forgiving design... waiting to get my hands on one.

Well, it appears that 100 MPH is the sweet spot. I know you should not make projections beyond your data, but I have a feeling 250 MPH might have landed well after clearing the signs.

Who made the sign? Have them design the car and it will survive.

NYC and those pesky helicopters

This was a VN-era Bell 206. The transmission above the cabin locks up from a failed bearing or lack of lube, snapping the shaft and allowing the main rotor to hit the tail boom. The impact caused the main rotor to separate, and the cabin falls like a rock without the main rotor acting as a parachute.
I'll never ignore the change oil soon message on my dash again...

Interesting… and raises ethical questions!!

If I am wrong would someone please tell me. The wolves being reintroduced in all the western states where it's being and has been done are from Canadian wolf stock correct? Which are way bigger than what roamed the US at one time?
The wolves that roamed the continental US until being wiped out no longer exist, correct?
Yes and no. My undcerstanding is that the wolves are from Canadian stock. And, it is true that mammals tend to be larger as you move further north (it is a survival strategy that conserves body heat). But, there are big white tailed deer in Canada. And there are small white tailed deer in South Texas and really small deer in the Florida Keys. In fact, there are something like 18 recognized subspecies of white tailed deer. But, they are all white tailed deer. The same goes for grey wolves. Grey wolves in their southern ranges would be expected to be smaller than the grey wolves in the northern extremes of their range. But, they are still grey wolves. They would be expected to be able to interbreed to create viable and fertile offspring. They are the same species, and have the same genes, but inbreeding and differential expression of those genes create localized subspecies that exhibit different phenotypes (outward physical manifestations of the underlying genetic code).

This is different than grey wolves v dire wolves, who are separated from each other by approximately the same amount of as humans and chimpanzees. In fact, evidence suggests that dire wolves (despite their names) are more closely related to jackals than grey wolves.

Loads for 6.5 SAUM 4S

Quickloads says
with a 2.915" COAL,
a 23" barrel
and with 63.2 grains of N570, you will be at 102% fill (so your powder will be crunchin'...)

Max Psi for the 6.5 SAUM is 65,000

It states the pressure with a 156 Berger and 63.2 grains of N570 your 6.5 SAUM pressure will be 58,800 psi
and the velocity will be 2910

Thanks
Perfect - exactly what I was looking for. Much appreciated sir!

KAHLES K624i - EYEBOX COMPARED TO PRESENT SCOPES

Yeah, and they're not the same scopes as they were 12-15 years ago. They upped the game on the newer K624i's after launching the K525i, which has an upgraded optical system in it. They put the same system in the K624i's and gave them a much overdue upgrade.

That could be the case, but as one of the largest Kahles dealers at that time. Nobody cared about the K624i.
