Whose barrel is better?

Yeah, I remember that. Well, it was their threads and perhaps a bit of a ham handed owner twisting the shit out of threads that didn't mate properly. And...er, not sure if he used any sort of anti-seize on it.
Yep, there was some contributing factors also, that I forgot. I do remember Ted at ARC went above and beyond to make owner whole, ill remember that when I action shop!

More fun with 308 Win

I hit 2850 with the 180 grain Gamechanger using Power Pro 2000MR, Alpha SRP brass and CCI 450s. I blew my first primer with this load however that piece of brass is on its 15th firing all of which have been over book max. This is from a 20" barrel. Bolt lift and extraction still smooth on the origin action. Accuracy was acceptable at 1" 5 shot group. Several other groups were smaller so will focus on refining those. SDs were all higher than I wanted.

Not another gun wont shoot thread.

Check your bolt lugs to see if there is even wear. If the wear marks aren't even, start by lapping the lugs. Then disassemble your bolt. Without the spring you should be able to see if there is uneven contact on the sear engagement and the sides of the striker under the bolt shroud. Also check firing pin clearance. You may need to have it bushed if it's too loose coming through the bolt face.

If anything is rubbing on the inside of the bolt that really shouldn't be, the rifle will never shoot accurately no matter how many barrels you try. Clearance everything first before you try another barrel.

Why do people load so hot?

@XP1K Those old Speer manuals were HOT. :D

Dad used to just look at whatever was max, and load that. I've had to add cylinder and yoke endshake bearings to two of his old S&W revolvers because he shot them loose in only about 3K rounds.

I'm still sitting on a ton of his old 240gr, .44 Mag loads with 11.0gr Unique. Same for .41 and .357 mag (different charges obviously, but still "max AF". Fortunately I have some Ruger revolvers.

Sane with his .410 shotgun loads with 2400. I've shot I think 8 shells (he gave me about 10 boxes) at snakes etc. around here, and have pierced probably 6 primers.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Handguns...show 'em

My church carry pistol, a little P-01. This is an example of a gun that fits me so well that I can shoot it as good as a $4K 1911. There are few *for me* where accuracy is natural, but this one is it.

I've added a CGW spring kit, upgraded the two crucial pins, replaced the guide rod with a steel one (unnecessary), and replaced the sights with some decent night sights. For ~$900 all-in ($1,050 if you want an optic cut), it equals or even beats the Shadow 2 Carry in most areas.
