Lets see your USMC M40-M40A6!!!

While not the M40A1-A6, here are the US bolt Action Snipers for the previous Century that lead to them.

That's spectacular! For those that might not know, everything about the M40 is an original US military sniper rifle. Those are some of the rarest vintage sniper rifles in the world, it an outrageously impressive collection! If you and @Topgun117 combine your rifles, you'd have the ultimate USMC sniper rifle collection!

Thou shall not take the king's fish(bluefin)

They said it is illegal to fish forcthem from shore.
That is a fucking lie. Again, you can't just make law to cover a rathole you never thought you'd need.
Again, same thing with sailfish from shore. You need an HMS.......but it is for a vessel.

How bout you alphabet assholes take your medicine, or better yet, put it to the people.
You can't just mal3 rules for state and federal waters, then stand on the beach and say because this fish did something we never saw...we control this now too.

I don’t know of anyone that uses a Lilja blank. That said, two friends of mine that had a Lilja CZ457 prefit eventually sold theirs for other custom offerings which shot much better. Could be a number of factors but you just don’t see them much at least on the RimX side of the house.
Yeah, I bought a Lilja prefit for a good deal, so I'm going to give it a go and see how it does!

Hating these Hornady 105gn BTHP Match 6mm Creedmoor bullets for reloading

I already read your post. You didnt post the info I asked... You measured your mandrel, and your bullet and ID but said you used a caliper which is not an accurate way to measure ID necks.. Doesnt give an accurate reading. Thats why I asked if you measure the OD of your neck after all your sizing is done and did you measure OD of your neck after seating a bullet.. This will be the most accurate way for you to measure if you dont have either pin gauges and/or the proper mic

Also, you havent mentioned... How are you sizing down the necks before you use your mandrel?? For example on why Im asking these very specific questions, I run different size bushings for Lapua brass vs Alpha brass to squeeze the necks down before running my 21st Century mandrel in because using the same size bushing on Lapua and Alpha gives completely different final neck tension.... They are not the same.. Neck thickness and springback are different.

By take all the right measurements, you can see exactly what Im talking about and know exactly what the necks are doing and when...
I measured OD of fully sized neck at .270. Loaded round OD is .271. So as I said before there is .001 neck tension.

POI Channge @100 Yards With a 'Similar' Load

The primary change is most probably due to barrel harmonics causing the barrel release point of aim varing between the two but recoil is probably playing a minor roll. As for external ballistics the 100yd variation due to only the velocity/Ballistic coefficient difference is about +0.2" if you assume the barrel POA does not change. The internal ballistics variations can also be playing a part, especially those that effect the variation in the barrel POA relative to the bullet spin axis at muzzle release.

It only takes about a 0.008" variation in the POA of the barrel to cause a 1 MOA variation in POI at 100yd.

Look at the top 50 rimfire benchrest equipment list year in and year out.. all button barrels.. 90% Mullerworks and Shilen with a couple Benchmarks sprinkled in...

It is well known that button barrels dominate the rimfire precision world
Do you guys have any experience with Lilja rimfire barrels? From what I understand, they are button-rifled. I am putting one of their 25" 1.2" straight taper on my RimX action.

I think the good eating size range for BFT is 40-200 pounds. After that the "Toro" part becomes bad. The fat almost turns into hard rubbery rows. The meat in between is ok. It really depends on what the fish are eating as well. I know those NE fish feeding off the scallop boats are super oily, just like the YFT in Venice, LA following the shrimp boats. The fish are super greasy with dark meat.

The guy I fished with in NC used to drag the live fish behind the boat after the catch while they were still alive. He had some sort of giant carabiner clip he would place through the lower jaw. The fish would look like it took a deep breath and the color came back. Then they drug it onto the boat and spiked the brain and bled it by cutting these 3 cords near the butthole and stabbing it through the heart. The blood left the fish in mere seconds. The meat color was far better and he sold the fish for much higher value than the morons on the TV show. Single fish were selling for like $65k to his buyer from Japan.

Out here we spike them, cut the gills and place them into the RSW tank (33 degree saltwater). Usually the meat is sashimi grade. I tend to sear or eat tuna raw. I have grilled our Albacore when they were around to catch. Bonito here in So-Cal are excellent if you bleed them and get them cold quickly. Very good raw. I had some seared skipjack and it was pretty decent too. Not much tops swordfish or wahoo to me. I hear Opah is good but I have never had it and we don't have them here in CA.

I have been very fortunate to have fished all over the US but working for a large fishing manufacturer helps. I still have a lot of boxes to check for fish I would like to catch in other countries. I just lack the money to go target them. I could give a shit less about catching billfish unless it's a sword and that would be purely for the meat. Panama (the country) was one of the best places I have fished to date. Several species and really good fishing. I fish lures 99.9% of the time so it was perfect for me. Bluefin Trevally, Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Almaco Jack, YFT, African Pompano...so many species. One of the guys even caught tarpon on the pacific side. Amazing fishery down there.
