I had a 3.6-18 MK5 for about a month. I thought I would upgrade one of my MK12s to something more current and some more magnification would help. Made the mistake of comparing it to my 3-12x50 S&B PMII. The glass quality isn't even comparable. The old PMII was days clearer then the MK5. I have looked through at least half a dozen other MK5s and they all look the same. Just looked through a new FDE 3.6-18 with the PR2 reticle, it's a little better, but still a no go for me. Good looking scopes on a lot of builds. But the glass quality, small sight picture and not so great reticles make it a no for me.

WTB Badger Ordnance M4 SA BDL

U are correct, it’ll fit the recess but to be perfect a bit of bedding/fill req to be perfect, vs a Rem 700 BDL cut out, you’ll need to hog out.
Now Hawkins makes a BDL style piece that fits the M5 cut and works great, but if your looking at an old school look in your build..bout only choice left n with Badger no longer making n PTG not making replicas, you might find a heavy duty version with Sunny Hill or an older Williams piece…

I’m spending a lot of time loading ammo and (re)cleaning guns. Just trying to stay out of the crossfire.

When we had ours done, granite, we were picking between 4. There was 1 that I said "Absolutely not!!' I got home after it was installed, guess what we have? :mad:

The last scope I bought new was a MK5 7-35, and it was pretty much the same price as the new Theos I bought previously… and the Theos is a hell of a lot more scope.

It’s not a bad scope, but it’s definitely not spectacular.

Appears they were stealing cars- Mercedes specifically from an Airport rental service . Hot riding them around for a while because who’s gonna pull them over ? And then selling them to the local chop shop for about 25% of market value .

They cut out the middle man and didn’t hire local thieves or entrap them into stealing 30 luxury cars - nope did their own leg work to ensure max profits.

Where they messed up- they could have just “suspected “ the cars came from the proceeds of crime and taken them under civil asset forfeiture and auctioned them for full market value .

Odd, they specifically talk about missing BMW's, not Mercedes. It's almost like you can't get your facts straight.
Also, it's PG county. What do you expect? They have had a reputation for corruption for at least 50 years.

What upper receivers are you guys using to get a good thermal fit?

Centurion and BKings offer advertised thermal fit uppers. I like the Zev/Solgw/Icon stuff but they aren’t a thermal fit. Generally advertised as a slip or resistance fit. However barrel extension size always has a say.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm inclined t go with Centurion, but man, the BKing is half the price. Now I'm on the fence. I'd like to stock up and don't want to buy a bunch at first. Maybe I'll get one of each.
