Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

Starting using them in my angry little .45-70 because the 300gr Rem JHP's I had been using were really let me down (lack of penetration).

The only Nitro Express thing I have, and am likely to ever have is .450/400 which I load to very untraditional levels, 300gr TSX's at 2700fps.

All my other big .45's all shoot big hunks of lead, often wrapped in paper. ;)

SOLD Winchester 70 Coyote .243

I'm listing for sale a very nice Winchester model 70 "Coyote" in .243. I am the second owner of this rifle and have owned it for about 5 years now, I have probably only put 50 rounds through it or less since then. I don't know the total round count but judging by its condition, maybe a couple hundred rounds fired at most. It has some handling marks and cosmetic flaws, but nothing I would consider major or anything that affects function at all. I've tried to picture the flawed areas best I can with the photos. The last time I shot it, I had fired some handloads for another 243 I worked up and this one was shooting them pretty well. If I remember right, just under 1" at 100 yards. The trigger is heavy though and could use some work. Someone that has the time to tinker with it will have this rifle shooting great. I am asking $950 shipped for the rifle with Leupold bases and rings (lapped). I would sell rifle and VX-3 3.5-10x40 duplex for $1350 shipped. FFL must accept from individual. If you have any questions feel free to ask. Thanks for looking!

243

Edited to add: Decided since I had the rifle out I'd take her for one last spin. shot a few rounds of hornady 95 gr and the results were not impressive, but the barrel was clean and may not have been fouled right away. After the Hornady I sent 4 of my handloads downrange and was able to print a pretty impressive 4 shot group at 100 yards.

Straight-Pull? Which is the best?

I dont know if steel action rifles are available in the us.

They are not as "proprietary" as many of the other European straight pull rifles. Not as much BS.

Picatinny mount in the action, barrel threaded in the action as common bolt actions, so a rebarrel shouldnt be too expensive.
10 rd double stack magazines available.

Chassis available

Disclaimer, I havent shot one.

A thing to note on the Blasers, they use a proprietary mount that is (fucking!) expensive.

They are quite common here, as much as i dislike them, i have yet to see, or even hear about, one that doesn't shoot. And they do make for a handy hunting rifle. You gain a good 2" barrel compared to a similar normal action.

From what i know they can be a bit iffy to reload for, as the run thight chambers, many shooters here use small base dies for them.

Optics Athlon Helos 4-20x50 APLR6 MIL

Looking to sell my Athlon Helos 4-20x50 APLR6 MIL scope. It’s seen around 500 rounds on 4 different rifles and has tracked and performed flawlessly. It’s been on my LVSF 22-250 the last few months but I stumbled upon a more nostalgia correct optic for that rifle and really don’t need this anymore. It’s in like new condition with the exception of a small cosmetic blem on the battery cap (pictured).

It will come with the original box and everything as it would new plus it’s in Warne Mountain Tech 30mm medium rings. I will not separate the rings, it’s a package deal.

These things are now unobtanium due to being to popular and the new tariffs so are cleaned out everywhere.

$625 shipped takes it. That’s quite a bit less than I’ve got in it after my discount off MAP and buying the rings.

Payment via Zelle or Venmo. No trades.

Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

My dad had a plumbing contractor in Kalispell MT come out and replace a toilet, vanity, sink, 1 angle stop, the shower valve and two faucets. The guy was on site less than 6 hours total. When dad got the invoice it was for, the toilet, 20 hours of labor, 3 round trips of drive time to and from the contractors parts warehouse, 8 angle stops, and 20 feet of copper pipe. I supplied the vanity, sink and faucets. He was supposed to bring the toilet, the second round trip they charged was for him to go back into town and get the toilet. The third round trip was to come back the next day because he didn't crimp two of the connection on the shower valve. The guy used maybe 1 foot of copper pipe, only changed 1 angle stop and got all of the work done in one day, except having to come back and crimp two lines the next day. When I called the owner of the plumbing company he got really indignant with me. I asked how he could charge for 20 hours when the guy was on site less than 6 hours. I also asked how he could charge for 8 angle stops when he only replaced 1, why he charged for 20 feet of pipe, and why is he charging to come back the next day when it was his fault for not crimping two lines.

My dad has been lettering this plumbing company's trucks and doing all of their signs for many years and the response I got from the owner of the company was "I don't have time to deal with this kind of shit". Is it any wonder they are the most expensive and have the lowest Yelp rating of any plumbing contractor in the Flathead Valley.
I use a plumbing outfit, all union plumbers (100 employed) I always ask for a particular guy with 37 years experience, who is a master at diagnosis, and fixes everything right first time out. Truck full of supplies too.
I pay top dollar, but quality i the long run is cheap.
