I've been impressed with the 400x300 Burris scopes for the money. I use a NOX 35, but my son uses a first gen Burris BTS50 and it has been a great investment, killed many pigs and coyotes. I'm testing an Athlon Cronus 640 CL right now and it is very impressive at a $3100ish street price. It isn't $2000, and it is a clip on, but it is a whole lot of thermal and has a laser range finder for the $$.

Ultimately I'd strongly suggest considering spending a LITTLE more thank $2k and getting a used 640 unit still under warranty out of the classifieds.

An over-run of short uppers that will fit both the AT-X and AT-XC would probably turn into a quickly sold out group buy. I'd be in for two. Raw would be fine, the rattle can doesn't need to know.

i travel for work alot and come up here where the scope is all summer. i checked the scope out last year but was not interested at the 3800 they were asking. got up here for the first time this year and saw it was still there but marked down, figured id ask here for some thoughts while i consider my options

Borescope came in and the Centurion MK12 barrel was definitely rough just past the chamber. And I wasn’t too impressed with the gas port either. I have maybe 600 rounds on it.

My KAC LPR with Krieger has some fire cracking which is to be expected given the >6k round count, but down the barrel and gas port looked good.

I did the full FF system on the Centurion and 10 of the TMS. Following the instructions and cleaning every 5 rounds etc.

After the 15 rounds and cleaning, the ‘chatter’ looked better but not completely gone. I was running out of light so I cleaned it well and shot three 5-round groups with my 77gr SMK loads. .96, .93, and .70moa. I have struggled to get under 1-1.5moa before.

I’m going to deep clean again tonight and tomorrow do 10 more TMS, clean again, and see what it’ll do.

I’ll probably give my KAC LPR Krieger 5 or 10 of the other TMS and see what it does to the fire cracking.

Now that I have a borescope I can inspect any barrels I get before firing a shot and decide if the FF/TMS system is necessary before I struggle for 4 months lol.

would be some, usually shoot w a spotter, and i remember when we got our first spotting scope w a reticle, suddenly moa was no longer a good option w that mil spotter, that was a game changer for us.

and thats MIL anymore for me…i have my last remaining moa scopes on a varmint plinker 223 bolt gun and an M1a. I hate the thouht of goin on a nice hunt out west or something and screwin the pooch w MOA. the matching turrets and reticle may help. i dunno, its a pretty screamin deal but im not surprised it hasnt sold. ill probably offer 2k for it and get shot down initially, but im good at long sieges, and they will give eventually i bet

Liberty / Satern barrels have been solid performers for me in 6.5 Grendel and they are not much more costly than the BA's for a more consistent barrel.
I have had really expensive AR barrels that didn't shoot as well as the 18" Liberty barrel.
