The way I am LS swapping I will be about 150lbs over a BP. Engine is ~100lb heavier give or take(dressed BP is ~300, dressed aluminum LS is ~400). BP motor is iron block/aluminum head vs. full aluminum LS. Trans is about 40lbs heavier(90lb Miata 6spd, 130lb T56 Magnum F). Rear end is +10 give or take(55lb miata vs. 65lb ford aluminum 8.8). Sub frames are heavier than factory pieces(unsure by what). Driveshaft slightly heavier. Axle shafts slightly heavier. Front to rear balance changes towards the front a bit. A buddy runs a 50lb steel plate in his trunk to balance out the car a bit. With 400+ whp it simply doesnt matter near as much if you add 150-200lbs onto a 2200lb car. Its going to be a violent ride regardless.

Rotary's have shit support in general and make what, 50hp over a BP at a bajilioin dollars cost. Would be a cool project, but just no... My buddies dad has one. Its fun, but he takes out his other cars far more often.

k24 swap costs damn near what an LS swap costs to do correctly and you end up with half the HP and a motor that vibrates itself to death, still dealing with the shit Miata transmission and rear end(unless you swap to a different trans and rear end, which just adds more cost)... I think they can make fine conversions on the street, but put them on the track and you are going to blow shit up.

Ozarks isnt nearly as bad as it seems IMO. Even the first time I went I was like "this isnt as bad as people make it out to be". MOST of the "haters" of Ozark that tell you how dangerous it is have never been... but thats the case with almost everything these days when somebody tells you how to do something and you say "how many times have you done it that way" and the answer is "well ive heard" or "I watched it on youtube" or "ive been elsewhere so that corelates to this also"... the answer is they have never been somewhere or done something that they want to give their opinion or expert advice on. None of my track buddies will tell you Ozark is dangerous. Does it require a bit more skill than other tracks, sure, but dangerous...no. Its an FIA rated track so its got runoff, armco, tire walls, sand traps, etc... where they need to be.

Dont know on the NC although we are building my buddies after we do mine. On an NB you gain about 100lbs up front.

As I laid out above its at least 150lbs and probably more like 200lbs. But going from 130whp to likely 400+ whp, 200lbs isnt going to affect anything that I will be able to tell. Likely about +100 on the front end. My BP is pretty stripped and so will the LS. No A/C, no Power steering, etc... Just an alternator, water pump, etc... LS accessories are far heavier than same on a BP so I expect to be under that 100lb weight difference by a bit(maybe 10lbs). I have no way to weight the motors unless I can get a friends 1000lb corner weight scale.

Here is an acquaintance LS Miata. He's been doing LS miata stuff for like 6 or 7 years. Has it pretty dialed in. 150mph in a Miata is NUTS...

Zogbots brings in APC and murder man over tall grass bylaw

And it will always be so, past the end of time. Long after the heat death of the expanding universe reaching a state of no motion, and in defiance of physics, there will be that unending, undyng hatred of cops.

You could rebut, as you did, stating the other factors in this case and, as you can see, it changes nothing.

You could counter with stories and videos of cops doing good things. Like bringing down a dog-fighting operation.

Nope, the ACAB tribe does not give a flying fuck about any of that. A cop pulls a guy from a burning car moments before it all goes up, even getting singed arm? No, hate the cop.

So, when I see these cop-hating threads, I am reminded of this.

the + things you mention cops doing is what they are SUPPOSED to be doing and what they are PAID to do and what they signed up to do. serve and protect? mostly harrass and abuse is what they seem to prefer. doing those things carries more risk than beating up old women and writing speeding tickets. i have heard the excuse that they are held back by city mayors. true.
just wonder how the heroes in blue would act if turned loose on TDA or MS13. cop recruitment would likely suffer.

Mag catch problem solved. I might just have a lemon, but if anyone else runs into this in the future, let me know and I can probably help you out.

Long story short, though the factory skins I have look fine, the molded hole for the left side mag release had tolerances about 1mm too large, which allowed the bolt catch to be slightly torqued rearward by the mag catch spring. This caused only a small portion of the mag catch to touch the magazine, which led to magazine retention issues as I move from position to position.

Before, note the angle that the mag catch gets torqued to, essentially only the rear corner holds the magazines in. Fine for prone shooting but not running around doing positional stuff.

After, note how the mag catch is much closer to square (when I went more than this, it required too much force to insert a mag). Sure I could file the bottom of the catch, but this allows for a non-permanent modification and solves the problem completely.

I wanted a non-intrusive and non-permanent solution, and simply 3d printed a variety of mag release buttons with the shaft offset at varying distances.

I played Goldilocks a bit, as 0.6mm was so much retention the mag insertion was troublesome, and 0.2mm was only slightly improved. 0.4mm was perfect, and the 3D printed PPA-CF should hold up as good as the original.

Doesn't look too bad.

If anyone ever runs into this issue I would be happy to send you a few mag catches for the cost of parts and shipping to see if it solves your issue, just reach out.

Final solution is a 3d printed bolt catch with an M6 stud to replace the original.

Can you share your step file ?

6mm vs 6.5mm, not quite beating a dead horse.

So on the discussion of velocity, what do you guys with experience (there’s a lot of it) find the set spot for velocity? The perfect balance of flat but dull see to see exactly where the shot landed?

Going to come down more to you, your eyes, how your rifle is set up and how you can shoot it.

I shoot 110 ATips in my 6ARC at 2725fps and in my 6 Creed at about 2910fps and can see both hit the target so I’d say in that area would be a good place to shoot for velocity.

Your PVA prefit experience

Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking to find out. PVA is fairly close to me as far as gunsmiths go, and even closer to my sister in law that lives in PA, that we go visit several times a year. Maybe I can even drop something off in person. I’m thinking that if I go with the Deviant action, I’ll definitely be giving PVA a try. Thank again for the information.

Yeah going from upstate NY down to PVA would be pretty easy. If you go with the deviant you can just ship it down and then they would ship it back to you all barreled up. Or you can drop it. Even if you go with another action give PVA a try. I am sure you will be happy with the end product.

I wasn’t going to chime in even though I wanted to say this 👆 30 post ago. I usually tell all my customers that are thinking a clipon to go with a dedicted. If their hearts are set on one then so be it but I do my best. The performance on the dedicated units is so much better and with AGM ours using the ADM mounts are just so easy to move around.

Review Walther PDP Pro 5" Polymer

I have been impressed with our PDP pro. Best striker trigger I have felt and has been extremely reliable so far.

For me personally, the gun does not point as naturally to me as my preferred cz p10’s, and the recoil impulse has more muzzle rise and “snap” but does settle back on target pretty quickly with my 130pf 125gn loads.

The cheap plastic sights I actually think is a smart move on their part. No matter what sight they put on the gun 1/2 the people wouldn’t like it so they out cheap plastic adjustable sights which work great for people that don’t know any better and let the people that care choose exactly the sight they like. My preference black serrated rear, fiber optic front.

My wife has claimed it and now wears a holosun comp. Can’t wait for the weather to cool down to try it in some local USPSA matches.
