Customer Accuracy Expectations

What I’m saying is - instead of focusing on group size, why don’t we look at rifles that can deliver a first round that is within the SD of a string, versus 2-3x that SD? Just a ththought.
I would love to see some conclusive testing on whether rifles can reduce ES/SDs or of you are forever a slave to lot testing.

If a particular rifle/barrel combination was guaranteed to give a lower SD and be less sensitive to ammo I would 100% buy that over pure accuracy.

Dropping from .5" groups to .3" at 50yards, or 1" down to .8" might be a selling point for benchrest, but for PRS/NRL I don't think it's that important, considering guys happily give up pure accuracy for reliability.

Geissele Cut Rifled SPR Build and Barrel Evaluation. (Part 4 (Load Development 28MAY25) Update!!!

I’ve had really good luck with XBR8208 and the 73gr Bergers. 23.2-23.4 has always been the sweet spot for a load that shoots good across all my 5.56/223wylde rifles using the 73 Berger, 77SMK, and 77TMK.

I must always get lots of powder that run hot because I’ve never been able to get above 23.8gr with XBR without swipes and flat primers. Seeing these 24-24.5 gr loads that aren’t blowing primers makes me scratch my head. I’m glad it’s working for people though.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Many people take Russia's lack of response to date as weakness, that is an assumption that may come back and haunt them. Much like many times in real life, where everyone thought someone was a weak coward, until one day they had enough and shocked everyone with their ability. Even the weakest dog will bite, if you push it far enough.

Dramatic platitudes make for colorful cope, but it's still cope.

talk me outta a MOA scope….😳

i know, i know…im not a guy w a bunch of high end optics, have made due over a few decades(yea older guy w 4 grandkids approaching retirement) using mostly super snipers, first the original 10x MIL/MOA versions, then added a couple MIL/Mil ones. grabbed a PH 3-15 many years ago as my lone alpha scope. been doin rimfire comps, and some LR steel shooting w the same scopes ive had forever it seems. Im one scpoe short, for a 300WSM thats been on the back burner for ages, but ive finally been working with and getting some decent results.

anyways i walk into a shop today and see they still have a Tangent Theta 3-15 professional MOA thats been there for over a year, but theyve dropped the price to 2500, could probably get it out the door for closer to 2k cash….tempting, but i gotta admit i feel slightly disadvantaged when i pick up one of my rifles still topped off w a MOA super sniper.

thoughts? all appreciated

I like an moa scope for hunting, I run a couple. not sure why. i'd get it, but if you'd prefer a mil, i know a guy :)

Smarter Than You

You wouldn't believe the amount of power that goes into just running chillers. All those servers create massive amounts of heat that has to be dealt with...

If something happens to those pipes moving chilled water through the system... Things get dicey (and expensive) really quick.

Yep. You should see the massive "ponds" they've built around the site. They're currently still dry, but my first thought on seeing them was they're planning on having to do a LOT of cooling. Operational date is probably still a long way off, but it is a HUGE construction project, and running full-tilt every day.
