Origins are great actions. I own 3. i would look at SA vs medium just for more stock options.

Unless you really want the HS, I would look at other classic style stocks for better durability. That said, I still have 2 HS stocked rifles in the safe. One a 700p that shoots lights out with, gasp, a Timney, and a cleaned up AAC variant 16.5” to keep it cheaper, light, and handy. Both work fine. Never has an issue, and caution with heat (cars, trucks, etc in the heat of summer)

IF I was going to the cost of the other components, I would get a higher end shouldered barrel. PVA one I had was easy to load for and shot well.
Premium blank Bartlein/Kreiger,Brux etc Prefit from Ern or Fritz would be my top choice.

I have both TT and Timney triggers and they are both good.
People who whine about them probably complain about having 5 slices of bacon at breakfast instead of 4.

There is a personal reason I have a 700p with a 3.5-10x on it.

I genuinely didn't know Birkenstocks were still around. Nobody around here wears them due to the nature of what happens when you accidentally step in a giant cow flop with sandals.

I have an LMT MWS 6.5 CM, I've noticed very very little barrel deflection regardless of where the bipod placement is, or using a bag versus bipod in general. I'm not saying it's the best AR-10 on the market, but it really excels in this area

I think what Gunfighter is alluding to is the fact that having none of your future work’s effort pleased to someone allows you more choices, primarily the ability to say no. Indentured servitude typically doesn’t allow that range of choices without serious consequences.

Probably time for another update.

Managed to get some Eley Match down in NZ. Tested 3 different batches, one shot horrible (not accurate and terrible ES) but the other two shot great.
Seeing around 28-32fps ES over 50-100 shots and accuracy is good.

Decided I would try running a suppressor for added weight out front.
I was a bit apprehensive as previous experiences with suppressors in 22lr didn't go great, however I found a locally manufactured suppressor that has been designed to not lockup with fouling (so easy to clean) and with stainless baffles meant it added a reasonable but of weight.

With about 1500 rounds though the suppressor now I think I'm happy to say it's going well. Accuracy doesn't appear to have suffered, and if I clean it every 500 rounds or so I don't get fliers/increased ES (the problem I found previously).
The added weight makes the rifle far better balanced, and the added length seems to make the rifle generally handle better.

I've spent a reasonable bit of time tuning the chassis adjustments, and have to say I'm pretty happy with the chassis.
I've switched around scopes and mounts and ended up in a pretty good spot now.
I can comfortably and quickly shoot my Delta Stryker on 25-30x and not be hunting for a good sight picture, the rifle didn't feel great with a 1.2" (ish) height mount, but with a 1.5" tall mount everything feels great.

I have approximately 3500 rounds through the rifle now and have to say I'm pretty happy in general.
The rifle has has given virtually no feeding or ejection issues, and generally just shoots.
I did find 2 of my older t1x magazines don't play well with the Eley EPS projectile, but my other two (I'm guessing newer mags) work 99% of the time. The issue is the flat nose hits the back of the barrel tenon as the magazine feed lips must be worn out on the older mags, I'm guessing this means non-EPS projectiles were scraping a bit as they went onto the chamber so these older mags might need retiring.
I've bought a new magazine to see how that goes, and so far have had no feeding issues.

I've hot quite a few matches with the rifle now and again am happy with the rifle. I'm yet to podium with the rifle this year but am usually close, if the rifle had a tonne more weight added it may help but usually I ended up messing up a stage and dropping a few to many points, so it's hard to blame the rifle.

My general thoughts about the rifle still stand. I'm not sure it's worth buying vs a standard t1x MTR + chassis of your choice, but at the same time if you did buy the rifle you won't be disadvantage either.
I do think that the CZ457 is generally a better option if you want to build a race gun, but as an out of the box option the T1x ACE is not a bad option.

It still 100% needs a heavier barrel, but more importantly needs the longer forend IMO. Adding a bipod for balance helps a lot but the shorter forend means things are a little cramped. A few more inches of space would both help with getting weight further forward, and with making sure there was plenty of space for a game changer.

I remain annoyed that Tikka cheaper out on the barrel on this model, I should've been able to recommend this rifle to our Swiss friend above, but alas I have to add caveats if I'm to recommend this rifle.

That extra 15% tipped the scales for me. I can burn the 160 in the 6.5x55.

It’s not hard to take “slop” out. I shoot my ckyepod the same way I do my Harris. People think loading is pushing the rifle and I laugh at people who need wood or some sort of stop to hold their rifle from sliding during “loading”. If you need something to stop it then you are not loading, you are pushing. Loading, which was never even a term when I started shooting matches, is just a very slight lean into the rifle to not have any wobble and something most do without thinking. None of the bipods mentioned will have any issues and a ckyepod is no harder to shoot than a Harris.

Looks Messican. Only thing it should be charged with is the cost of bullet to cull the herd .

Depending on the power range you need, if you can find a Athlon Aeres ETR 3-18, they punch above their price level which is around $550. I have one and a Cronus and can hardly tell the difference.
