I don't want to get off topic here, so I'll make it quick.

In a single sentence, please write an explanation for our involvement in each of these situations:

1. The Korean war
2. The Vietnam War
3. Desert storm
4. OIF
5. OEF

It's the cold war, the red scare, nuclear proliferation, the spread of communism, the threat of chemical warfare, the scary Muslims, now the Chinese standing army, the Iranian threat, bla bla bla. It's all bullshit, every single one of them. We ran out of credible enemies after WW2, but the war supply economy made us the foremost superpower in the world, so in absence of a credible threat, agents within the government combined with private sector agitators have continually fed the American people paper tigers as credible threats to keep the trillions flowing to the mic companies. This is a fact. A short study of history will quickly prove that the number one perpetrator of attacks that launch America into wars are carried out by America, or facilitated by in some cases, or allowed to happen at a minimum. Money is the driving factor for everything, and nothing makes more money than war.

Edited to add: our military should absolutely be ready and capable of defeating the might of the Chinese military, and we are, but they should stay domestic, and stop meddling in everyone else's business, and it won't happen. People start starving to death in China within a month of developed nations refusing to continue to buy their cheap bullshit products. They can't afford to wage war, and their citizens would be next to useless in a large scale conflict.

There's nothing wrong with the nx8, other than a really tight eyebox, but nightforce glass just isn't that great at any level. I've never looked through a beast, so they might be great, but the rest of them..... not great glass comparatively in their price range. They prioritize durability, not glass quality, and they are very successful. It's not a criticism of their products, just a very common opinion that I also happen to have.

On another note, I prioritize a small floating center dot for centerfire rifles. The ranges are short and the targets are often small. The smaller illuminated dot is key to making precise shots at close range. If I was building a rifle for rabbit hunting, I'd mount a 1-10x lpvo.

When you get it come back on here and relay your opinions. I think a lot of people are gun shy to make the purchase or just Scope Snobs, but everyone I know who has purchased one has been extremely satisfied.

Take it from a person who has a boat, and I live on it quite a bit through the summer (literally and littorally), it is a lifestyle in itself. But my suggestion to you would be to go the less expensive route, and :

Build your own single-seat helicopter. That way you can save money and do all the maintenance on your own, for yourself. See, saves you money and look at the fun you'll have.

Well I have no dog in the fight between Vortex and AB. With AB no longer supporting Vortex products except this. When I received my Vortex products with AB in them they were legally licensed through AB. Now that Vortex has purchased Geo Ballistics AB has decided to not support the previously purchased AB licensed Vortex products. I believe AB should support every product they licensed period.

That screws the consumer who purchased the AB licensed products not Vortex. Vortex still supports their part of the product but AB won’t. AB was paid then decided not to support anything they licensed through Vortex

So guess what I won’t purchase another AB product. I will get something else. That’s not a big deal to AB but I am sure others feel the same as I do. Money put out with promise to keep up to date but AB decided to stop.

I have been using an Impact 4000 with Geo Ballistics in it. It works well enough that it consistently gives first round hits up to a mile with the 300WM and 6.5 Creedmoor I use it on

Plus Geo Ballistics will continue to update as new bullets come out

Pros: Easy to acquire by rolling the rifle over.
Inline with the bore and basically at a co-witness height so I can use whatever zero scheme I want.

Cons: It's awkward to use from the support side.
Mounts take up rail space.
I have to take extra shit with me to support the gun while it's canted at an angle to zero.
My situational awareness sucks with larger optics because when the gun is rolled over the optic blocks my field of view.
What ends up happening is that my brain then sends all the signals to my right eye so I end up seeing through a tube with a dot in the
middle surrounded by black. That sucks transitioning from target to target, but hey sweet cheek weld.

Pros: Easy to zero, I can just stay in position with the same bipod and rear bag and zero at 100 same as the optic.
The optic is no longer blocked by the scope so when in use I have increased SA going from target to target.
I can use the optic from the dominant or support side without much issue.
I can see the dot just over the elevation turret so it's not really a chin weld with the cheek riser, I basically lift my head and there's the dot.
Deconflicts rail space for accessories like dope card holders, brass catchers, levels, etc...

Cons: Taller profile. This can get in the way depending on the situation but so can the 45 offset.
Limited options for quality stand alone mounts unless going with a new mount that has the option to swap turrets.


Those are just some of my experiences in experimenting with the two set ups over the past year.

All this talk about transitions time. How much are you guys transitioning? I think the 2 gun matches with with Throoms (2 or 3” lollipops inside 20 yards) is probably the most I transition in a stage. Otherwise, AC zone reduced and larger targets 100 and in is red dot. Small targets and 100+ yards is LPVO (except throoms) . There’s not a ton of transition for me.

That said, when I start a stage with something close and I use LPVO for HOB holds I generally stay in the scope. This slows me WAY down when I have to find targets unless I’m shooting an ACOG. But me last two gun and I ended up starting in the middle of a 3 gong array. Had the scores not took pity on me after a 12 second magazine debacle I would have got a +30 for failure to engage.


Personally I like the 90*, mainly for VTAC lists and support side. Tried them both and went with what better for the type of shooting I do.
