It’s not like there’s any traffic there. When this place went Scout is when they did that forum, as you know. It wasn’t much of anything from the start but certainly didn’t gain enough traction. Their Beard and hair forum probably has more traffic and that’s really sad.

When mountaineering in the winter you have to ask yourself where all the snow will end up when it goes downhill in an avalanche and then spend as little time as possible in these areas. We need to think in a similar way about heavy, unexpected rainfall.

The latent threat to Kerrville is obvious on the topo map - once you know what to look for.

There are roughly 250 square miles of land draining into one relatively small river. Every drop that is not absorbed by the ground will at some point pass the red marker that google assigned to the flooding.

Let's just assume that after ground saturation only 1/8 inch is running off into the tributaries. That is still over 5 Trillion Gallons through a choke point constrained on both shores by rising slope.

A prudent person would make camp in such a situation only with a clear evacuation plan that is triggered by certain conditions like the percentage of the area inundated by rain (i.e the size of the cell), the amount of precipitation (represented by the color of the cell) and the duration of continuous rain.

No argeuement there. Most people who find themselves face down on the ground in cuffs for more than a couple of seconds are due to their arrest resisting behavior. It's easier to control a non-compliant person that way while they settle into the realization that they aren't wresting out of their predicament. If you watched the Floyd video, he ended up in that position because 3 of them couldn't get his big crackhead ass into the car. He stayed that way as long as he did because a mob surrounded the cops and they were very concerned about being rushed. Their own safety became a priority over the crackhead's comfort, as it should..

I provided some recip cows for embryo transplant so I could raise some Angus/Wagyu calves for a friend of mine.
After he finished and processed them, they went to Japan

He did give me a big styrofoam cooler of other Wagyu beef he had and it was pretty darn good

This has been discussed a million times, but our feelings about suppressors is based on the fact that once you buy one, youre stuck with it forever, so they need to last forever. In countries where they are readily available, they are seen as essentially disposable. If they lasted 1,500-2,000 rounds but cost $300, that's what I'm doing, and so are most people.
