I had heard that only 100 or so Quotas made it to the USA back in the day. In any case they are rare. Obviously a competitor to the BMW 1100-1200GS bikes, which dominated the ADV category then, as now.
It's a unicorn for sure. Probably also pretty much free of electronics and gee-gaws like ABS and FI....

Incredible machine!

Those are gorgeous!

One of the bikes I really regret 'not' buying was a California in sort of a low, long cafe style. What a gorgeous machine. It was at Motorcycles of Manchester in NH used and really cheap. Low miles. Almost brand new. I ended up with a 750SS Duc which I loved. But the Guzzi would have been a way better bike.

I didn't know Guzzi made an 'adventure' bike. That is stunning!!! What a cool machine!

Cheers,

Sirhr

Ok, the solution for springs is squared away and a good portion of the small parts solution is moving along well. I'm continuing to work through the remainder of small parts, but see that going just as smoothly. Ultimately, getting closer to an inventory of all small parts.

Question: are any of you guys interested in any of the bolt knobs that Vudoo supplied to screw on to the Vudoo bolt handle? How about the DBMs the Vudoo offered and I designed?

While I am thinking about it...

Any of you Colorado guys know when Rt 34 I think its called in Colorado opens? It runs between Ft. Collins and then sort of South towards Denver and Pikes Peak. It's a bucket list road for me and I am going to be out that way soon and want to ride it. But shows closed on my map apps. I have heard 'usually' by Memorial Day. But any first hand knowledge?

Cheers,

Sirhr
You are thinking of Trail Ridge Road, which heads west from the east entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park to the west entrance, at Grand Lake. Head out as early as possible to avoid the traffic - there are losts if gapers on the road. Also, if you hit the road after 0800 or 0900 you need a reservation. Definately a worthwhile ride and quite vertiginous, if that's a word. And yes, the opening target is Memorial Day weekend, but sometimes earlier or later depending on the snowpack depth.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like some company on your ride. I could also show you some other mountian roads around here - it's a true playground for riding.

Wow, you guys took this seriously and nothing mentioned is off-track at all. Although, based on conventional decorum, @lash would be correct, but I started it based on a few thoughts and you guys ran with it. This is how product development concepts are gathered in a focus group setting and you guys participated organically without any direct questions being asked. Pure awesomeness.

Yes @carbonbased, snnneeeeeaaakyyy :ROFLMAO: .

Reeeee!!! from DOD trannies imminent

Don't misunderstand me. All the trannies are indeed mentally ill and should certainly never be allowed in the military. I was simply saying that competent women and gays (no pms DEI included) are capable of serving in jobs that aren't frontline combat. They certainly have in past conflicts. We need get rid of the stupid DEI shit and recruit strictly on merit and we would weed out the morons of both sexes.
Understood and a very reasonable position.

Unfortunately Clinton's sop to Don't ask don't tell was still a signal for 'welcome aboard.' And a political move aimed at identity politics.

Much better with the old policy of "No. But if we don't find out, there ya go."

In other words... stay in the closet. Yes, people of lots of 'persuasions' served in all wars. But in our western country with its Puritan roots... it's not particularly fitting.

I don't care what consenting adults want to do in their own fucking closets they can cornhole each other all they want. It's when they are more vocal than vegans, Gluten Free morons and 10mm shooters that they are looking for attention... and especially when their 'identity' ibecomes a political thing that almost universally puts its energy to leftist, divisive politics... that it is severely disruptive.

As for women in the military, they have served since Bouddica (I have a cat named after her) and long before. And some can handle anything and everything. The Special Air Service recon/intel adjuncts have had women for years. The U.S. intel (including miltiary units) have had women since the 1990's (quietly). And there were plenty of OSS women who were tough as hell. So as long as there are not two standards, I have no issues. BUT the same standards are the same standards. Just like the SF PT test does not have an 'age' category where times and reps are adjusted for age. You want to serve in special units, you have to meet the standard. Not the 'old guy' standard and the young guy standard. Not the man standard and the chick standard.

But that's just me. And my opinion matters not one bit!

BTW, the riggers, as I recall, were not gay or women or trannys. They were, however, nuts. Missed by their chain of command, etc. Hard to weed them out... I'd have to dig to find the story. But I think it was in the 1990's.

Cheers!

A toast to the venerable Remington 700 5R mil-spec

Pretty close to a load ive been using lately. How long is your barrel and what is the velocity ?

Here lately I've just been loading 45gr of varget and a 175/178 in lapua or sig hybrid cases and burning up old win LR primers. Accuracy is always right around .5 moa and velocity is between 2720 and 2740 from a 20" 9 twist lilja.

The 175 Aeromatch did real well for me last week on 3" steel out to 600 yards at my local gun club. I didn't want to like the smk knockoff but it shot really well. Going to load 20 more and push it farther this weekend against the 178 eld-m.
2590 was a 11 shot avg 20” barrel. Load was I think 2610 memory serves me right. Was very little loss.
