Maximum distance you can reliably first-shot impact 1MOA, 1/2MOA target?

I think this is good information as far as hunting is concerned, you dont choose the conditions to get the perfect results, you are not prone waiting 20 minutes for things to line up, likely have a wobbly barricade or imperfect position, and have some time pressure.
I think 2 MOA hunting accuracy is very solid. Asking shooters to hit 4”@200 unsupported is a big ask. 8” is not easy. That’s why most hunters don’t actually need an FFP or dial capable optic.

Let's look at this from a data collection side.
The PRS Barricade Skills Stage is a staple in PRS matches.
It does put some time pressure on the shooter, as it is a timed tiebreaker stage.
By 2025 rules, the targets are at a distance of between 400 and 500 yards, depending on which option is used.
Short story is that the smallest target is 6" at 400 yards (1.5 MOA).
Going through match scores, less than 25% of shooters on average will get all 10 hits.

BR/Prone without time constraints is a lot simpler for the average shooter that the skills stage.

KRG Bravo Fitment Issue.

So I have had an Origin with a Medium Palma 223 Wylde for a bit.

Just recently realized the bolt handle was hitting the chassis and did some dremel work... no problem....

Come to notice marks on my barrel where the forearm screws protruding.
Are there shorter screws I can use? Washers?
Or just dremel again (I don't care about much about altering the stock)
I see now KRG says 1.25 is OK for about 4" from the action, so a palma is not really recommended, but these screws are only 1.25" from the recoil lug....

Any suggestions?

Someone murdered Charlie Kirk

Welp.. here it is.

It's all a fucking facre -- once agian. Very good breakdown of autopsy.... all leads to the conclusion Charlie Kirk died from the same kind of magic Kennedy bullet!

Ooo-eee. What are the odds?

The autopsy is NOT public. Anybody claiming to have some insider knowledge about the autopsy details is a LIAR. And nobody from the Utah Medical Examiner's Office has divulged info to crackpot YT or Twitter personalities. They are prohibited from sharing that information under Utah law and due to a judge-ordered embargo under threat of literal jail time.

In what world would someone from the ME's office get on a phone and share autopsy details to social media influencers and risk their career, heavy fines, and possible incarceration?

AI Data Centers Are Causing ‘Distortions’ in the Power Grid from Coast to Coast

Got a ( Hyperscale ) data center that is Now to be in my small community and town of just 27.000 people . on 35 Acres . phase 1 is 180.000 sq. ft and 40+ foot tall . starting out @ 47 Megawatt running full capacity . A second phase @ 363,000 Fq. Ft. and 75 ' tall . when finished ' estimated ' phase 1 and 2 eating at least 100+ MagaWatt @ full capacity .

The city and developer both swears there will be No impact on it's residents .... LOL

Accuracy International AXSR ARCA rail and scratched cerakote

I'm coming from the investment industry which is filled with "Gatekeeper" types, football and basketball players, sufers, Ivy League etc. so I learned a long time ago to just do my own thing. I let my performance speak for itself.

Just a comment about the RRS Anvil-30 ARC Lever-Lock Ball Head, it has a user adjustable screw on the newer models that allow you to adjust the tension of the clamp.

I get that some shooting events like PRS or some of the field events competitors have well worn guns. If you talk with Matt Yore of Sawtooth Rifles, his new ARCA rail also has the benefit of stops that would prevent the rifle from sliding out of the ARCA mount if the clamp were to become loose, possibly a concern only to posers?

I might speculate that there are those that have well worn rifles that could be considered posers as well. The mere attribute of a well worn rifle therefore is not conclusive to anything, rather suggestive at best.

I have a Honda 450X dirt bike that is well worn along with riding gear. Having such doesn't make me a better rider, rather I simply choose not to maintain my dirt bike or gear to like new condition. Nothing I say here will likely change the attitude of many, but that's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors of ice cream.
The problem with adjusting the Anvil (which I also own), is now your other non-worn ARCA plates won't lock into place. They're adjustable to account for all the (then) cheap Chinese ARCA bases that were not all the same spec (there basically wasn't a true spec until RRS published theirs).

As to posers...that's a whole other can of worms not even worth getting into.

BLUF: You're worrying too much about appearance. Just go out and shoot your rifle.

Does anyone make a 1:8.5 twist 30 cal barrel?

Thanks all. Clearly I am a dummy, but I had no idea temperature and humidity played such a role in whether a bullet was stabilized. I knew they mattered, but going from summer in VA to winter in MT is the difference from stable to either spinning apart or keyholing.

Someone needs to create variable barrel twist tech where you can change the twist rate on the fly.
Gain twist....
