Since this thread is about props and cut outs I will hijack it a little and mention a prop I made for our club I thought was fun.

So I bought a sheet of composite fake brick board that looked like this and attached it to a plywood backer on a stand:

I cut a loophole in it that looked like a few missing bricks and shooters stayed behind a line a few feet back from the board. Target acquisition and transitions were challenging but it seemed like a realistic and fairly practical stage. I personally hadn't seen it before although I'm sure it's been done.

It's strange that we get polar opposite results on jump settings for most Hornady bullets .

Lee will make a seating stem for any bullet you send them, which I only became aware of recently. I believe that was part of my problem all this time. (Duh)


Better yet they make a whole new redisighned seating die now that properly fits secant ogive and hybrid ogive bullets.

I got my hands on some and they fit the Aeromatch 105 well it seems.

It appears the Aeromatch series very closely aligns with a couple of top brands.

I made a dummy load for 6mm arc wth a fire formed case and the Hornady 105 Aeromatch.
It's 0.020 off the ars magazine (2.300) and 0.050 off the case mouth at 1.540 bto, 2.280 coal.

It chambers with thumb pressure on the back of the bcg. It's not hitting lands but may be touching the forcing cone?

I'm not sure how to deal with that, I don't want to build pressure.

Nearly zero successful experience with hybrid or (compound) ogive bullets .

125s and 135s peaked at 2700fps IIRC with no change in pressure signs, I kept adding powder but never got increased speed. It was blowing all the excess out of the suppressor and it was loud as hell with a can. Every charge was. The projectile wasn’t heavy enough to support great burn %.

As soon as I switched to a 155 hybrid, sound significantly decreased, speed barely decreased, transonic range dramatically increased, energy increased. Overall, the longer bearing and heavier projectile was the catalyst to a more efficient burn rate with the exact same powder.

I’m transonic with a 155 to 787y at 400ft ASL and 80F. Same load with a 125-135, eve tho faster, was transonic to like 650y.

The 155 has much better killing energy. The 125-135 wasn’t great on fur. Lots of runners at 300y+.

Happened when I had a low battery and continued after a battery change. Still gives a range so it isn't useless but I can not figure out how to get a solution to show up.

I'm sure it's a minor issue that just needs something adjusted or reset, probably because of something I did.

***Problem fixed. Resynced to AB Boss and then with AB Quantum again and it's back to normal.
