Area 419 uses a taper, as you know. Thats going to locate the brake perfectly, regardless of how much you tighten the knurled ring. Use your ocd to index it properly, and forget about it.
Thats about tight. When I was living in a tent at the logging site in the Missions we had snow on the 28th. That when I knew this southern boy would not be wintering up there.
I ran into that problem while I was modifying an AR-15 pistol grip. Drilling some small pockets into the plastic gave some space for the epoxy to flow into and bite creating a mechanical lock, resolving the issue.
Interesting… though I disagree with the follow-on analysis. First, it’s based on sheer speculation. It could be just as easily interpreted as “I don’t want to A. Get smoked by the IDF. B. Get shot like Khadaffi in a ditch by angry Iranians. C. You Mullahs are finished and I’m just a puppet anyway. D. All of the above.”

I have a 16" Gen 1 in 5.56 which uses AR magazines. I bought it on the recommendation of a gun tester/writer with whom I conversed over a few social beverages years back (RIP Ed.) I swear that rifle punches so flipping far above its weight. Mind you, I've been feeding it a bit heavier bullets (closer to the 62, 69, 77 grain flavor) but that thing is an MOA rifle all day with ammo it likes. I didn't even put a great scope on it, just a 1-8 LPVO. I'm pleased as hell with that rifle and I'll never get rid of it. Light, handy, and accurate. Perfect knock-around bolt gun, especially for the price.

Important than dead. That said, I don’t waste hunting bullets on range pursuits. My 300 of choice loves 175 SMKs at about 3100 FPS, if I am shooting for precision hits at range, that is my go-to. But that means exactly nothing to you; since yours will like something else. The trick is to experiment. For graveyard dead, I do TTSX, other stuff works too, but those have been sledgehammers for me on multiple continents.
