Have you mounted your optic, and boresighted the rifle? With only one, short range trip available you don't want to be wasting time getting on paper. You should be able to boresight at your house to get the first shot on paper at 50 then immediately move out to 100 (assuming that's where you want your zero).

Yep, 7mm max. It's the newest best thing. Probably make all other cartridge obsolete within the next year or so. Might as well try to sell all your other stuff now while it's still worth something.

I’ve got a friend telling me that he’s got a buddy that has this New “do all end all” cartridge called a 7 max. He’s going on telling me that the 7 mm PRCW is old hat and it’s a piece of junk now everybody’s going to this new “7Max” he’s talking about and I think he’s FOS. The only information I can find on it is one of the Sherman cartridges. What is a 7max? I have googled it to death. I’ve looked on here. I can’t find anything other than a 7 Sherman Max.

You know how in the "Russia Russia Russia" thread we were talking about them nuking the cities of Europe? Honestly, there is too much art, history and beauty in many of them.

On the other hand... Portland, Seattle and most of Newsomeland... would be... well... just sort of urban renewal! And as a bonus, think of how many pedos they would turn into shadow paintings on the concrete!

In the mean time... Portland Police need a little visit from the DoJ Civil Rights Division. Who can tune them up with some good old fashioned jail time.

Until I purchased the ammo and built reloading dies after shooting the factory ammo for its cases.

So...Federal 7mm steel cased Ammo was surprisingly consistent and accurate.
First 3 shots of the 170 gr went into .166".
The 175 gr had a lot of .3" & .4," 3 shiot groups at 100 yds which I thought was good for a factory hunting rifle.
Plus velocities were a lot higher than stated on the box by 50 and 100 fps respectively for the 20" barrel!
With the 170 grs almost reaching 24" barrel velocities in a 20" barrel.

Is an alloy case the answer to better performance from factory ammo ?

Can you get a long bullet in your mag and seated out far enough to give decent powder space? I am all for anything that can be made with 223 brass. That stuff is practically free.

I feel your pain. Hitting a 4" gong at 500yds requires a good wind call as well as a decent cartridge. If you can see your bullet trace then it is possible to quickly adjust your point of aim to get a second shot hit even with an SD of 15-20.

My ASC grendel mags have been 100% in my grendle and arc, as has my 5 rd ASC 7.62x39 mag. I don't think I have ever put mire than 10 in them.
