Do you drink anything while shooting?

It has in fact happened to me….. in Central America during a training in the jungle def drank too much water… needed IV for potassium due to nutrients being purged…. Major PVC! Not fun
Well if you were humpin a ruck in the jungle, you were already dehydrated I'm assuming due to the humidity. I'm guessing half of your electrolyes were already gone. Though, the water you drank; it had no minerals in it? And where were you getting all the water from on a jungle training op? That's crazy.

Had to completely refab the rear chain guard. Luckily, a friend has a complete metal fab shop and a good size sheet metal break. Friends like that come in handy on projects like this.

I have no idea why my Garmin is on there.

Do I need a 700 in my arsenal.

The only reason I can see for a R700 with all the options available today is if you are building an M40 or M24 clone. That's what I did and its the only reason I own one. Even kept the OEM trigger. I thought the M700 was the pinnacle of bolt action rifles because of the venerable old M40A1. Then I shot an FN SPR and thought: this is what the M40 should have be built on.

Or unless you have nostalgia for a classic deer rifle like a Remington 700 BDL. I love it's classic looks, but I'll never buy one unless it's a vintage make, a deal that I cannot pass up and just falls into my lap. I will not go shop for or pursue one.

As a basis for a modern, custom build, no.

Yep. I grew up fantasizing bout the 700. Bought my first at 19, and thought it was tits. I grew up, and finally realized why allllll the gunsmiths kept telling me the same thing when asking for quotes on building the action up; buy something else. They were right. The 700 SUCKS. I have 2 because they were builds built on old rifles that I loved, but that's the only reason. After owning tikkas, howas and other guns I would never ever do anything on another 700 again. My M40A1's actually going to be built on a howa because I just cant stand screwing with all the idiosyncrasies of the 700 any longer. I actually prefer my old 721 over my 700's to be honest.

Uh, if you’re getting ill by drinking too much water…you gotta chill. No joke. You can die doing that.

No one here is getting hyponatremia. You'd have to drink a fuck load of distilled or bottled water that's not spring or mineral all day long without eating to do that lol.

Do you drink anything while shooting?

While at Camp Perry I used to drink lots of Gatorade, that is until I drank too much and it made me rather unpleasantly ill. Then I drank nothing but water..... until I drank too much and it made me ill. The combo, for me was to water down the Gatorade to about 50-50. That seemed to be what kept me hydrated but didn't have side affects of too much of a good thing.
Water makes you ill? Are you sure it was the water?

Carl Zeiss Sports Optics to close shop

It was interesting that they pointed out digital optics be a major competitior.
I imagine a lot of people who would've bought a high end day time scope have instead spent the money on a thermal scope, which Zeiss obviously can't compete with.
For many years NV and IR optic use in European hunting was mostly illegal , now its not and relatively affordable options cut into zeiss briliant optics that were meant to excel in dusk and dawn conditions , specific light conditions that last literally minutes.

Chinese Acrobatics By a DA To Not Bring Charges

I think it’s a reflection of the dog is basically an innocent animal who’s life is put in the hands of the human (a human that it would do anything for) and the human treated it with contempt. The human put so little value on the life of “man’s best friend” that he let it slowly die of heat and dehydration.

You have to be a callous person to do that, regardless of the rantings of the Hide members who see it as a “tool” like a hammer or a wrench.

It’s not that I put more value on the life of the dog than I do humans. It doesn’t have to be a black and white, pick one or the other contest to be disgusted with the behavior of the officer.

If I saw a dog attacking someone, I would try to help that person. If I saw a person attacking a dog, I’d try to help the dog. Those aren’t absolutes, because situations like that rarely are.

But to mock/insult someone who is outraged at a human’s callousness towards an animal who’s been left in their care?

That doesn’t make you sound cool or tough. And pretending that every human life is irrefutably more valuable than every dog’s life is just ridiculous. And if you genuinely believe that, I feel sorry for you.

I It's not about cool or tough for him. It's his superiority complex needs to be stroked.

easing of legislation permiting NV & IR optic use in Hunting make the twilight factor less important.
