Karma Shooter, Looking at our Body Position

To be fair, it’s for an entirely different discipline that anything the are discussing here. Iron sights were the primary sighting consideration, scopes on blocks were secondary which is why the butt to bore has such an offset.
Used to be you would hook the butt under one arm and shoot across/parallel to the body entirely under body support, now all the rage is for the shooter being square/perpendicular to the rifle and not supporting the rifle itself at all.
Aka, offhand vs prone.
Understood.

Thank you.

I will submit there is a middle ground between the Schuetzen and the straight-line we see now that is likely worthy of exploration (or returning to).

Best way to fix cracked bedding? (Model 70)

I’m sure I’ll come across these answers as I start doing more detailed research, but opinions seem to very on how tight the action screws should be (if installed at all) while the epoxy is drying. Is there a definitive answer? Also the barrel is currently floating, when I remove the previous bedding will I have to focus on floating the barrel or is the stock already recessed for the floating barrel?
I've found, that if you dont torque the action down super tight on the wet epoxy, and you have a blind magazine box, when you go to reassemble this set up, the action will now be quite a bit higher in the action, and now, your magazine box when fitted into the receiver, will have a few millimeters of free space at the bottom to allow it to drop out of the receiver. Now, the loaded rounds wont index correctly and it becomes a shitshow. Had this happen on three different rifles. All the same exact problem. Had it happen to 2 Rem 700's and a Howa 1500.
Before bedding they all fed like a tikka. After bedding, they would smash bullet tips into the bottom of the feed ramp at EVERY range outing. Took quite a while to figure out, but it was the little indentations or creases in the sides of the magazine box that indexed the shoulders of the rounds ever so slightly to the 10 o clock for the right round and 2 o clock for the left round, helping the bullet tips avoid that flat at the bottom of the feed ramps. Contrary to what people say, the mag boxes are not supposed to float in there.

Another way to look at it. Take your action out of the stock, then grab your bottom metal and bolt it to the action with no stock. Just snug up the bolts very slightly. THATS how your entire assembly is supposed to fit IN the stock. That's how every part in there was designed to function from the factory. If it's not that way mounted IN the stock, shits going to not function right 100% now, until it gets back to where it was originally.

Bushing or mandrel or both?

I started looking at what the BR and F Class lot were doing and then whittling it down to a process to that gave most of the benefits. I don't need to be neck turning, or weighing every component. If I can hit a 1 MOA target at distance reliably factoring in the wind I'll be very happy.

Most F-class shooters are *very* happy if they can consistently hit a 1 moa target in the wind at distance... as that's the size of the 10-ring. A 200 with a low X count trumps a 199 with a high X count, every time 👍

Question about potential throat issue on brand new Accuracy International replacement barrel, pic's attached

Yeah, sort of looks like when cutting the leade it tore a bit of the land but I have zero idea why that would be on all five. And I would sort of expect that more on the free bore end of the leade where it’s thinner but I’m in no way a gunsmith.

I do agree…shoot it and see and shooting it will erode the leade and should smooth that out.

Best chamber I have seen w my limited experience came from @AccuSol-ERN. Ends of leade looked like they were drawn w a straight edge and a drafting pencil. Of course, that lasts until the first rounds go down the barrel. lol.

But more seriously, I like to see attention to detail in work I pay for and Ern provided that in spades.
It’s going to be in all 5 as the reamer has to clean them off. Usually when it’s torn it means the reamer could be dull or undersized a little.

Here is a picture of our chambers with it cleaned out completely

I Wish

Out of aproximately 750,000 peace officers across the United States, one of them did something good or useful. I just don't see anyone willing to "report" on the good side.

It kinda pisses me off when a person bitches about a job they are unwilling or unfit for.

I am willing to bet it's not as much fun bitching about something properly done or anyone showing compassion. Goodness forbid the officer does his job without a shooting or beating someone.

My brother was a sheriff's deputy and a fed for awhile. He has awards for saving people from flash floods in Las Vegas and keeping a jumper from jumping. He took part in every community outreach program for young adults. He had the living shit knocked out of him for protecting a battered woman. He ended up in the hospital with a broken ankle and a severe concussion. He took the beating but the man wasn't able to hurt or kill the woman he was protecting. The man went to prison. I'd have prefered my brother killed the bastard.

Since birth, my children were instructed to be passive and respectful anytime they are dealing with law enforcement. If the officer is a complete dick, let him/her be and do everything told to them. They were taught to go to jail peacefully and don't resist in the least bit. Long story short, show respect. Prove to the officer you are no threat by making sure the officer can see inside the car or whatever and the officer can see the empty hands of all people. We will deal with the law side AFTER you are in jail, unbeaten and fully alive. It's just not asking much.

We know what happened to Saint Floyd but no one asks why the three other people caught with floyd didn't die or received a huge reparation.

People are just too stupid anymore. What does it take to control yourself knowing the cops are going to escalate agression to no less than pain, worse if needed.

I'm only sixty two but I still remember when the cops were the good guys.

Range time, 370, tricky winds here today. Even more difficult is down range due to the various different mountains surrounding the valley.

If you look in the last picture, you may be able to see my surveyors tape blowing where the shots were taken from.

Man, that’s a mighty fine group! Especially for being unsupported rear, off a bag, at 378 yards in field conditions. Makes me wonder why I’m selling this damn rifle.
