The video of Byrd shooting and killing unarmed Ashli Babbitt

What's her skin color have to do with this? Did you mention her color to shape the story a certain way? Any video I've seen did not include any officers in view until after she was shot. I know they were there, and that they let this happen.

I know that the door was barricaded. They didn't use unarmed protest to breach it.

I'd like to see any of you just allow a crowd of people to breach a barricade you've built and just allow them to wash over you hoping everything will be fine

I mean, I have days like this every year. However, angling a few t-posts between the panel and outside frame might have helped guide this young, stupid, motherf#@%ing, worthless piece of s#!t steer with 5 f#@%ing brain cells out a lot easier than chasing it around in circles.

One must be smarter than the cattle. However after helping others manage their herds... one is often - not - smarter than the cattle.
One thing I know: if you let livestock get under your skin they will 100% drag you down to their level and you will share the 5.5 brain cells. Money is usually spent on repairs after the event, either at the doctor or on the crap that gets broken. Maybe both. But when it happens to someone else its hilarious, because I've been there.

The single most USMC story ever told!!!

If the story is true. It's on the pilot to ignore an order that is not in the protocols. Once all the protocols for resolving the issue are done by the book and they didn't resolve the issue then it's onto trying something on the fly. The pilots health and life are on the line. Not some desk jockey in the tower. Standing in front of the Old Man for disobedience because you were told to ignore proven tactics? I'd like to see that write-up.

The video of Byrd shooting and killing unarmed Ashli Babbitt

This will get me flamed. What ever. I think it was a clean shoot.

She wasn't an individual. She was the first body of a horde that broke down a barricaded door with a cop on the other side pointing a gun saying do not enter. She was the first one to breach the hole and the first to catch a bullet. It's a fucking shame what happened. I wish she didn't hop through that window. I think everyone was caught up in the fervor.

What pisses me off is how quickly the police were there to help her. They had to have been right there... letting this escalate... letting this stew until someone got hurt. It's the cops that did nothing when people were breaching the door that are to blame for this.

If I was barricaded behind a door I'd have done the same thing. She was not a threat herself, but 100 of her can tear your arms off or just kick you to death. You can't reasonable expect a person to fall upon the mercy of a mob of hostile people

Advice needed for 2017 Buick Enclave repairs

That seems steep lol... vibes could be from something as simple as tire balance or bad tire.

A ball joint, tie rod end etc could cause the same thing. I wouldn't pay anyone who couldn't show me a likely cause....

Put the front tires on the back... see if anything changes.

Dont just replace everything and hope you get the issue... not a fan of the shotgun approach. This is the hide after all lol... ask em for a little precision on the diagnosis

Your PVA prefit experience

The way I understand it (which may be completely wrong) is there are almost no conditions where my 100 yard zero should change. I've played with it in a ballistic calculator before and I couldn't manage to change the conditions enough to get a measurable 100 yard zero change. I'd set the zero to 25 yards, screw around with the variables, and see if I could make the drop at 100 yards change. Being 0.3 MRAD low just doesn't seem like an environmental thing to me, especially going from sea level to 4,000 ft elevation.

I get that it definitely has an effect on my external ballistics the longer the range is. But a 100 yard zero is a 100 yard zero.

Not really. I have flown all over the country to shoot matches and always check my zero and there have been changes at 100. Environmental changes do effect the ballistics as temp can effect powder, even good stable powders. That’s driving to a match with care on handling the rifle. Air travel can effect the rifle as a whole with being banged around and honestly .3 mils is not a lot.

Snug your barrels on to 100 but I think you are fixated on and worrying about a non issue in the barrel torque to action interface. Check when you get there and rock on. What I always did for matches going from sea level to 4000 feet and also working up a load in the teens in February in CT and then traveling to south TX and it being in the 80-90s.

And not being a wise ass. Just trying to help.

16-18 inch shorty rifles

What’s the ideal contour for a short barrel? REM Varmint/light Palma?
I always liked a Light Palma measuring between .730" and .750" for short rifles, and I've had several custom rifles in the past with those barrel contours . There's guys making continuous contour barrels now that look quite good in the .750 range.

I currently have a 20" 6.5 Creedmoor with a factory barrel that measure .748" (19mm) and a .308 Win with a factory 18" barrel that measures .728 (18.5mm). Those are good analogues to a Light Palma class for man portable rifles used for getting around and over stuff.

Truck axel barrels have utility for gun games and the like, but they are usually longer, for the young and stronger.

IMHO and YMMV

Question for Rim X Pre-fit customers:

I have had many rimx actions and the lasering has lined up perfect on all of them but one! The first one I bought back in 2020 s/n 36 always is about an 1/8th turn too much!
I have a bunch of barrels, various brands here that I am going to do prefits with, I know there have been some discrepancies before. Just trying to see when it was a problem. I have serial number 901 here as my shop action to use.

Do I need a small base die to save my brass? 6.5CM

The rings on the brass above the case head (just above the rim and the ones higher up) lead me to believe there is something going on with the chamber. While it sounds like you are potentially having issues reusing the old brass but I would suggest buying bow of factory ammunition (quality) and see if you have issues with it on first firing and then reloaded.
