So, another question; given what's been available, what has worked the best for you guys? Where do you see the greater challenges related to feeding (based on how you use your rifles)?
My response may be a little weird, but it's a data point: I have zero gripes about my 10-round polymer and 15-round aluminum mags in my gen-1 V22 mounted in MPA BA Comp chassis (with adjustable mag latch).

Once the adjustable latch was in place and I learned to load the mags correctly, feeding issues disappeared. I have no had a feed malfunction in literally years, shooting ~1000-1500 rounds per year, with maybe 1/3-1/2 of that in timed events.

What works best: Follower button that lets me easily load all those slippery rounds in summer heat.

It's hard for me to conceive of a .22 I like and trust as much as mine but, Mike, if you come up with a new design, I'm in.

EDIT: regarding misfeeds if a magazine is pushed into a prop: maybe - almost certainly - my lack of problems with this is a result of just keeping the mag clear. I use a "schmedium" Game Changer attached to a gamer plate (Area 419) which helps a lot with that... also, I'm old and slower than cold molasses.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Nur na Nur. I'm an idiot. This proves you are a Russian employee!
Hey everyone else. Did you miss the manual update version 7.3.2 from the ugpx? I think we need it to deal with these retards. They are on to us and our handlers. Army Jerry is mad at us for not following his orders. We need to like each other's posts more. It messes up their interpretation of our intentions.

Can't wait to see you all at the annual meeting at Tucker's place.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

Your enemy is in your country not mine.

Well, we don't fight based on your personal enemies, Komrade.

How is the war on diabeetus going, anyway? Did Trump ever do anything about Insulin prices or did he chicken out when the pharmaceutical companies threatened him? Why would you even frame that EO around attacking "freeloader countries" instead of attacking the problem head on?

Anyway- you are a Commie Shithole useful-idiot fellow-traveller.

Your support for Trump's global surrender doctrine reveals that you can't think two steps ahead to realize that it will only INCREASE entropy in the international order... so get ready for more-of-this typah-thang...

I hope you keep a box of kleenex by the keyboard.

Folks that think Ukraine will end with some rebuilding bonanaza where out of the ashes rises some kind of Taiwan or Singapore are sorely mistaken...

I've never heard anyone say that Ukraine was going to turn into Singapore (WTF?), but it will certainly be rebuilt.

How the tree falls (Russia) will determine whether Ukraine becomes a folk vacation spot or a militarized state, forever on the lookout for Commies like codraceps zombies.

We need to be thinking more about controlling the collapse of Putin's Neo-Soviet empire than anything else right now. Russia is poor on the floor begging for bodies and artillery shells- and they just lost their inheritance of weapons from Glorious Soviet-Past.

A leaderless, comatose, ungovernable "Russia" with mass human suffering is more dangerous to our national security and foreign policy goals than a dozen or so states that at least try to serve their people.

The question is- after fragmentation, will the dumb Rooskie Animals line up for bondage under the Oligarchs (former Soviet Siloviki and their Commie Dynasties) or will they form a BRAND NEW CULTURE and join the human race.

Most likely the former, UNLESS they are shown-the-way... the legacy of the Golden Horde is that to them, Civilization and Society are bad, and the key to a less miserable life is to be lucky enough to find the right tyrant to enslave you.

This is ingrained in their very DNA.

How do you think Russia is going to respond?

Probably cry more about the "deeply unfair" and "western dominated" rules based international order that pushes back on the Hammer and Sickle just because we don't like them or something.

Bandera, frog boiling, downplaying casualties, positive spinning military corruption... Looks like a puccian man has entered the chat.

These guys study this stuff harder than they ever did in school.

300 Norma Mag

I believe once you have a case that is giving you clickers you are not going to be able to get rid of it with a tighter fitting/resizing die, even a small die. Those will most likely prevent them but I don’t see it squeezing the web back enough. I don’t think a 7/8 die is thick enough for .585 cases also. Best to jump up to 1-1/4 dies. I’ve fought this same issue with the .338 Norma. Less die options for that too. The only thing that has cured clickers is the universal Rollsizer. F class John did a nice review on it. I saw it at shot show this year. Ended up buying one. And it’s legit. It works very well. It’s expensive but considering lapua 338 Norma brass is $400 a box now I justified it.

I appreciate the tons of feedback about preferred magazine capacity, and I'm not too surprised about the responses. I won't give too much away at this point, but I'll say now that I'm definitely doing a legit 10 round. I'm focused on modularizing a few things and I believe everyone will be pleased.

As I've worked through this, I've noted a few interesting things and I'm pretty excited about the path to the new magazines. So, another question; given what's been available, what has worked the best for you guys? Where do you see the greater challenges related to feeding (based on how you use your rifles)?

As I mentioned recently, a lot is happening in parallel to try and make everything available around the same timeframe. I'll continue to keep everyone posted and believe I can speak to timelines very soon.

MK 12 Picture & Discussion Thread

UPDATE: So my Leupold Mk3 shit the bed after about 220 rounds. It does not hold zero and does not track anymore. So it was sent back to the distributor and it was proptly replaced with something that should be a considerable upgrade, a Nightforce NX8 1-8x.
I have just had it to the range once but I like everything about it so far.

I have been running one on a RECCE and it does well. Eye placement is a little tight, but it’s a small scope so expected. Only issue I’ve had with the reticle (FC-DMX ) is getting lost in the aiming dots under stress. I think I can overcome that by turning the illumination on dimly so the aiming dot stands out a little. If I get another it will be the MOA reticle, which is much more in line with what I shoot traditionally.

Still playing with placement, but it’s nice.

Worth restoring?

My mom inherited this Mauser from her late father, none of the family wanted it so she took it. I looked into it a bit and found that it is a desirable one, but missing some parts such as front sight hood and cleaning rod. Are there any companies that sell replacement parts or manufacture new ones? I’d like it to be as close to 100% as possible. Thanks
All day long. I have the same rifle that I'm slowing starting to restore as well. My bore is JACKED, and still shot a 1.2" group WITH IRONS at the range the other day, and my eyes are toast. I love my old Mausers.

AB Quantum Major Update 3.3 + Calypso AB Mini

Why not use LRFs or wind sensors as peripherals? They can stream data to ABQ, with ABQ acting as the solver. This enables live wind dope and avoids Bluetooth compatibility issues—as long as they connect to ABQ, we’re good.
I am not sure I understand what you are getting at? You can use an LRF or Calypso AB Mini as a peripheral to AB Quantum. The question I was answering is that you do not need the app running to keep the Calypso AB Mini paired to an LRF (where compatible).

JB’s Bore Paste & ARs

I use it on my gas guns as well. Though I use cleaning pellets that thread on to a threaded jag, and i rub it in to the pellet so there's not a lot of excess all over the place. It works, but not totally necessary if you stay on your cleaning regimen. As soon as you get home from the range, hit that bore with a new bronze brush a few times (with bore guide of course) then some tough solvent then more bore brush then patches, and the tough carbon will be minimal enough so that you wont need to use that bore paste but maybe 1 time a year obviously depending on your shooting schedule.
But no, after you clean your bore after using the stuff, there's minimal residue left afterwards. No ill effects.

LPVO-second focal options

Nightforce and Leupold have/had quite a few MOA options. Oldschool Short Dot LE was a German #7 or #2 post with 1/2 MOA in 2nd FP

Is this crack in an ar lower a concern?

It will lay waste to your wallet, though. But it’s never really wasted, knowwhatimean?

If you want to really lay waste to your wallet, buy an Aero M5 or any other AR10 receiver. Then set your sights on making it perform like a quality bolt gun. 🤨

It gets expensive, but damn it’s fun! 😁
Doing that very thing right now. Your financial advisor will quit you, but hopefully you took notes when he was still talking and now you dont need him quite as much any more.
