.243 8 twist load ideas please?

Don't sleep on slower powders, like H1000. I'm getting 2950fps out of a 24" barrel, with what is essentially the starting load, shooting a 105gr. Has great case fill, as you can't get enough in the case to reach pressure issues (IME). It's easier on barrel life as well.

I started at 46.0gr and worked up from there to a compressed load. A little more veocity would be nice, but 46gr shoot the best, so I ran with it.

Recoil impulse of H1000 compared to h4350 seems to be a fair amount more pleasant as a bonus.

I buy Eley Match for about $0.40 a shot in Canada. 223 blaster ammo starts at $1/shot. “Match” 223 runs $2-$4/shot. Even projectiles end up being close to $1/
$289 all in, including shipping. Hard to beat for live fire training. Also a gateway cartridge for non-shooters.

In my case - I like being able to load a bunch of 223 very fast and easy with a Dillon progressive versus my usual Dasher single stage process. I tend to use the 223 "trainer" at 300-600 yards. Also, all the components are so much cheaper.

Issue with 22LR trainers is "good" 22 ammo is so expensive and at times hard to find. I practice with my PRS22 rig also.

My Distressed Terminus Zeus Build is a GO !

Getting ready to start the 6 ARC build so I can play with the different bullet weights and speeds, I am gonna pair this build with a gas gun so I can look at the progression from gasser to bolt in the 6 arc space.

My Zeus build is on a Zermatt Matterhorn stock which is just crazy nice. View attachment 8655918
The barrels are being spun up by Bugholes as we speak for some Terminus PreFit Action

I have a 20" and 24" barrel coming so can I can experiment with the shorter barrels in the 6 arc space as they intended but also a longer barrel to get the speed, in the end it may require a 26" to get it right for comps, but I think with the factory bullets we have a potential to bridge the gap in cost to play, correctly.

With Hornady having a :

105gr at 2750, we know this is probably too slow, it repeats the Valkyrie numbers but with a 6mm so...

Then they have the 103 ELDX which is 2800, might be the right first try, the speed is correct.

Finally for factory loads i am lookin at, the 80gr Varmint load 3000fps, this might be the ticket considering the results we are seeing with the 100gr 65CM. The 100gr 65CM is bad on paper, great on steel, so at 3k, the 80gr load might be the ticket

Anyway, this is my start, more to come
Saw a Matterhorn in person for the first time a few weekends ago. Was very impressed. Something about that dark gray and walnut blend. Seemed like less tool and more art. Was thinking of doing something similar but going with a 6 BR variant.

Interested to see what performance you get out of the 6 ARC in the bolt gun.

Tariffs and ammo prices?

More like a prelude to something like
the Plaza Accord (1985)

The United States missed the moment when the post-industrial economy ceased to produce tangible results and advantages over other, less developed countries.
At that time, which didn't last that long IT sector services were very expensive and everything else was very cheap. Except for weapons, oil and drugs.
The US, as a generator of technological innovations, did not see the point in doing low-productivity things
Therefore, production was moved abroad to further reduce the cost of production.
But now all these technological innovations are commonplace. Even in developing countries and are relatively inexpensive.
This has led to a growing trade imbalance, which was suppressed by printing dollars. The miracle did not happen and the imbalance increased.
There were hopes for AI that it would give 40 percent of productivity, but everything is still postponed.

Those of you who are in favor of reducing the trade deficit in a shocking way, do you even realize that after this, instead of Irish butter, you will eat margarine at best, and save six months' salary for a new refrigerator? And if you also reduce the budget deficit (and this will have to be done, because who will cover it after the devaluation of the dollar), then you will have to plant carrots near your house instead of a lawn.

Because people without proper education do this under the influence of propaganda and conspiracy theories.
This is the only thing that the informational post-industrial society can boast of so far. Ease of influence on the uneducated masses of people.
ps. These people are present in this thread too.
pps. Unfortunately, eugenics experiments have long been suspended in the United States; they could have saved the situation
Wow, you seem nice…

New Zealand’s Lesbian Navy Captain Loses $100M Naval Ship in Peacetime Disaster – Ship Runs Aground, Catches Fire, and Sinks, Unleashing Oil Spill.

NZ is a small island nation at the bottom of the world, who’s entire defence strategy is:
-be too far away to easily attack
-be to small to be worth attacking
-hope that Australia will come to the rescue should an attack ever occur

It logically follows that the entire military is a joke as they don’t take their role in the world seriously.
Outside of disaster relief in the panic islands (which is increasing difficult as their planes are never serviceable) and the SAS, the military in general is beyond a joke.
Sounds like a baby brother for Canada.

Trainers are indeed a frequent excuse to get another rifle. However, they can certainly serve enough of a purpose to justify their purchase (besides "I just wanted it").

My .223 trainer is what got my in-laws out shooting rifles. Take a 65 year old woman (or 8 year old kid) and stick them behind something with recoil and/or concussion and see how much (more) time you spend reinforcing proper fundamentals. My F-I-L went from never shooting past 200 yards in his entire life, to shooting a 3" group at 400 yards on his first attempt...he came up from behind the rifle with a smile and new hobby.

Bonus that I'm using bullets and powder that cost 2/3 (or less). Extra bonus that I use the same setup as my crow shooting rig during the season to practice my hunting fundamentals.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Anyone own a Korth?

There was some really good vids from “life size potato” I think (dude is heavy into shooting euro stuff) on how the Korth and the manurhin kick the shit out of American guns and would last 5-10x longer in service when I went down this rabbit hole.

Now with newer imports I have no idea if this still holds true as some people have toasted newer mr73s. Theres a NHC Korth user over on 1911addicts that’s super pissed that his Korth is not up to snuff.
