From www.atf.gov. Brady Permit Chart, the use of "firearm" to me includes both handgun and long gun in the exception to a NICS check with proper state issued permit.


The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act (18 U.S.C. § 922(t)) requires federal firearms licensees (FFLs) to initiate a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) background check prior to transferring a firearm to an unlicensed person. However, the Brady law includes an exception to the NICS requirement when the transferee presents to a licensee certain state permits to possess, carry, or acquire firearms. A permit may be used as an alternative to a NICS background check provided the permit complies with 18 U.S.C. § 922(t)(3)(A

It is is still not 100% correct as it lists Nebraska's Certificate to Purchase a Handgun when it is now a Firearm Purchase Certificate


Language matters, but evidently not to everybody. And I have no answer as to why everyone can't get on the same page

Wonder how many ATF directors there have been in the 44 years I have held my license and how many more there will be before I give it up.

Love the adapter so far. I used to use a Novagrade and it was good but not quite as “easy” to use.

You've got an awful lot of decimal places going on there... what are you measuring with that you think you're actually reading to the tenths or below?

I have a BC Micron F/L bushing die (.308 Win)... and I had a 419 Zero press. Mine fit in the regular tool head well enough; at the time the primary concern seemed to be the fit/finish of the threads on both resulting in things being a bit too tight, or at least that was my understanding. Didn't have any problems with that. I did have a fair amount of issues with getting consistent headspace using the 419 shell holder system. Eventually ended up selling the Zero press and going back to my Co-Ax and 550 a year or so ago. For that matter, I'm considering selling my Micron die also. Like the Zero, it's *very* nice... but the ammo I loaded with it doesn't shoot noticeably better than what comes out of my LE Wilson sizers on the Co-Ax - or the 550. The hard-contact between shell holder and die body approach is over-rated, IMO.

Figure out what your primary use case is and go from there. A WMLRF is useless for PRS but great for certain kinds of field matches (albeit as an ancillary, not primary, means of ranging).

If it were me, I'd upgrade your rifle optic first, even the HDMR2 was a big step up from the HDMR, both in terms of features (10 mil locking turrets) and glass quality and they are onto HDMR3 now, or Pro... Pretty much any recent scope in the $1500-2000 range will vastly outperform your HDMR.

Then I'd upgrade my LRF to a good set of LRF binos.

The last LRF purchase would be the WMLRF. I have an Impact 4000 and it's been great but by all accounts so are the Fire 4k and the new Maztech unit looks pretty impressive as well.

Saw it today. It was intense. I thought it had a lot of great cinematographic tricks and some very good use of sound… or lack of it.

I need to watch it again to catch details… but it as very worth watching.

I may have missed the very beginning but I was having a hard time figuring exactly where/when. I need to look that up. I figured some place like Ramadi or Sunni Triangle before the surge…. So 2006 or so. But that’s a guess.

The ending was moving as hell!

Ok, so then it's both, apparently. I never put anywhere near 100 shots in a string, but it began to overwrite old strings with new ones when you hit 100 strings.
Correction: Now that I think about it, I don't think the LR would overwrite strings. Instead, I think it stopped at 99 or 100 strings, and then required you to delete some if you wanted to free up space for continued operation? Can't remember for sure - I haven't touched it since the Garmin came out. The Garmin, when full (100 strings?) asks for permission to overwrite the oldest strings in order to continue.
