Maggie’s Funny & awesome pics, vids and memes thread (work safe, no nudity)

True story: I spent 5 days in a military hospital back in the 70s. We were allowed to smoke in bed till lights out at 2100. The doctors and nurses were also allowed to smoke but they weren't allowed in the bed with us.

Silencer Central, if true Phuck them!

Why is the 2A community filled with so many ignorant bandwagoning retards?

Back in 2023 Silencer Central was open about supporting said bill H.R. 6352. Their blog post about it is still available and up and explains the bill and what it does.

“WHAT IS THE TAX STAMP REVENUE TRANSFER BILL?The Tax Stamp Revenue Transfer for Wildlife and Recreation Act is a significant milestone for wildlife, hunters, and shooting enthusiasts. Supported by Silencer Central, America’s largest silencer dealer, along with 12 other companies & organizations the bill proposes redirecting 15% of tax stamp revenue to expedite the processing of suppressor applications, addressing the current lengthy waiting periods. The remaining 85% would fund the Pittman Robertson Wildlife Restoration Trust Fund, supporting wildlife conservation, law enforcement, hunter recruitment, and the development of recreational shooting ranges. For more details, check out the bill here.”

But hey, it's not like Guns & Gadgets has a long history of posting complete bullshit to increase views or anything. Oh, wait....
I’m not sure what your point is, but HR6352 -Tax Stamp Revenue Transfer bill is not the same as the Constitutional Hearing Protection Act, formerly HPA.

HR6352 just looked to reduce the tax stamp cost to the consumer. So of course all suppressor companies would support it as it would increase sales. Yet it still made them remain fully on the NFA. A good thing for current manufacturers.

The Constitutional Hearing Protection Act as introduced would have removed them completely from NFA. Making them essentially another firearm commodity.

Not a good thing for current manufacturers.

If you cannot see the difference…

ETA: the revisions to CHPA coming out of committee amount to essentially the same thing as your referenced HR6352. It looks to reduce the cost to consumers. Thus satisfying those that want to keep them on the NFA, like say SC. And also satisfying those congressmen that would just like to get the pressure off of them from their constituents.

This compromise would likely accomplish both those things while pretty much keeping the status quo in DC and satisfying the huge lobbying groups from both sides.

Who loses? John Q. Public, that’s who.

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

I have a 1.85” sico harvester big bore that it clears, but with less than 1mm. Not sure if it would contact under recoil. My 1.65” Diligent enticer S clears with like 4mm at the closest part. I’d say 1.75” cans and smaller will be no issue. The top rail is 0moa. No way to can’t or i would run out of clearence by the end of the rifle for the pic rail
Cool! I’ve got an OCL Hydrogen, so it sounds like that setup should work just fine.

It makes sense that with the larger diameter forend, 0 MOA would be easier to manage—you’d need the buttstock end of the top rail to be sky-high to accommodate 30 MOA. I could always swap back to the regular M2 if I want to shoot longer range and take advantage of the extra inclination.

Thanks again for the info!

Rifle Competition Events NRL Hunter Dust Devil Dual AAR

Was the Dust Devil Dual anywhere out along the Palo Duro canyon? The entire Llano Estacado is such a cool area. My schedule wouldn't allow getting out to Steel Safari in May so the next best option was the NRL Hunter at Clovis in June. Always fun when the match you're shooting has a really cool, historic backdrop.

Ukraine war Bullshit.

You do realize this is not beauty contest as your western “friends” have blown their wad and it went into a toilet. People you type here with are not your ordinary kind of gullible idiot woke moron you’ll milk or convince to support you. Unfortunately for your kind some of their ancestors were fucking world over for years before you tried and in the end it will be you who will pay the butcher’s bill. I understand you think everyone is as dumb as you’d like them to be but the facts are that at least in US there is a silent majority that are decent folks at its core and simply wont allow shit to float like EU does. Adn even EU is fast approaching breaking point…

Spotters Case for Swarovski STR 80 spotting scope?

Haven't tried it, but probably not. The front likely would fit, but the eyepiece on the STR is low rather than high. Not sure if the eyepiece cover could be rotated and still snapped on. If I rotated the entire case, the opening for the tripod mount would be on top, not bottom. The STR also has a much larger section between the eyepiece and the lens that contains the reticle.

Would like for it to work, as it would solve my problem. Anybody tried the STS case on the STR?

MPA Rifle rings or one peice scope mount?

That's a great write up on how to help reverse what so many of us have been conditioned to do over the years/decades which is force ourselves to fit the rifle. Shotgun shooters and archers for decades have known that the best performance comes from adjusting the system to fit you, not the other way around, and that a gun properly fit for one shooter probably doesn't fit anyone else perfectly.

That said it's hard to do for the inexperienced, it's almost a chicken and egg thing, you need experience and knowledge/training to help recognize what a good, stable, comfortable position is for the context of your shooting and then mold the rifle system to that if possible. Mostly because there's a balance between having good form (strait behind the rifle, good trigger reach etc.) and being relaxed/comfortable. For newer shooters though (and even those trying to unlearn bad habits) asking them to get into a comfortable, stable position prone where their shooting position is also good form, is hard to do. Learning that, and getting help setting up you and your rifle really well to your body/position makes the cost of a good rifle course worth it alone.

However, you can get a lot closer on your own with posts like the above and there's been some good videos over the years on how to set up positions, tips etc. One thing I see a lot of is guys tend to run their bipods too low, because they think it's more stable, especially true of bigger guys.
2 things
1st I completely agree with you about the bipods, too many movies and too many bad techniques taughts through generations of hunters

2nd thing........Most intsructors agree with this........... I would rather have a "I never shot before" student than one who "grew up shooting"

For the newbie, We have a clean slate and most times they are open to ideas and will try anything

Seasoned shooters, They need to concentrate to break years or decades of habits and it takes many dry sessions to learn new techniques to and unlearn old muscle memory bad habits. You'll get adult males with tactical backgrounds hate admitting they need help and instruction in something they consider themselves as SMEs. It's not talking bad, but adults, especially males have fragile egos someties when it comes to doing predominately "man things" like shooting
