Light- short 6GT

I recently evaluated the 6BR, 6 Dasher, 6GT, 6x47 and the 6CM for a short, handy rifle for my wife and kids.

I went 6CM because I could burn a little more powder and regain some velocity (useful for bullet expansion). I also had way more powders in the medium burn rates. I only have N140 and H4895 for the BR size cases.

Here is some data I analyzed across all the powders I have for 6CM, 16" and 18". As others have said, the 2740 is optimistic from a 16, but not an issue in the 18. This is with 108 Bergers and a few lighter bullets for lighter recoil loads.

These are not max loads, but align with the highest OBT node I could get to with out going over 62k psi.

18"

Looking at the average across all powders the 16" barrel only has 0.5" more wind drift and 1.5" more drop at 300 yards. I can't shoot the difference so I went as short and maneuverable as I could.

Hey ... it's $200

No cans worth buying are offering a free stamp or the free stamp is baked into the cost where you can get it $200 cheaper elsewhere. Mostly overpriced and unwanted shit that's been sitting around because no one wants it.

When jan comes around and it's a 2 year wait you going to regret not spending $200 ( which is nothing) to have it now.

If you want something buy it now. It's really that simple.

Sure there are. There are plenty of new cans out there with free stamps and at the same price you can buy them most places. Take a look at the Silencer Shop specials. Nothing is $200 more than you can find it somewhere else.

Let's talk budget optics..

It's been a long ass time since I have touched a budget optics last one was in the 90s with a ss10×42m i currently run Nightforce leupold, trijicon and the likes.

I plan on picking up the savage 10 fcp in hs precision stock in 308 when I get back home next week. The rifle will be because nostalgia . My daughter says she wants a ling range rig, but I dint feel like spending 1k-3k on an optic for her for this rifle while I teach her

So please educate me on budget optics currently on the market. I see Arken, dnt, lower end vortex and more out there. All so much going on in the market.

I'd like a 5-25 ffp or similar with illuminated reticle if possible. Prefer a full christmas tree illuminated reticle if possible

Something kicking off in Israel

Remember Hamas was partially funded by Israel and the USA...
The more this goes on the more this looks like it was a "coincidence" that Hamas was able to stage a "surprise attack" which was just the thing needed to give Israel the reason to do what they always wanted to do, get rid of all the "refugees" and get started on "greater Israel".

Realistically had this been worked out sooner it probably could have been done a lot more peacefully, but folks always wait until the end to do what everybody knows eventually has to be done.

I still say ship all the "Palestinians" to whatever is left of the Ukraine to replace the population lost in the war, then they will make a nice buffer of crazy between Russia and NATO
Maybe.... but most will die from going to 100+* and sand everyday of their lives, to unimaginable cold.... we'll see how many live through that and a Russian offensive. I say let's do it and pass out popcorn.

I will laugh at them going from reading and speaking squiggly to having to deal with Cyrillic.
