Leica PRS vs Vortex Gen 3 Razor 6-36x

So I went to check out the Gen3 Vortex 6-36 and buy it with a 30% off cert, but I wanted to check out the Leica PRS 5-30x and side by side them.
I expected to like them both about equally, and leave with the Vortex, which I did, but I really liked the Leica glass, more than I thought I would.

Everything I read comparing the two, gave the nod to the Razor as being better glass. The Leica was quite a bit brighter, and I liked the thickness of the Leica reticle a bit more. I think the Leica was useable down to 12x, whereas the Razor needed to be at about 25x to see the little sub tensions. I like the Razor turrets a bit more, though I love tool-less turrets.

I had a Gen 2 4.5-27 Razor, and my memory thinks that one was brighter than the Gen 3. I must be crazy lol.

The Leica reminded me a lot of my Kahles 6-24i, but maybe with a bit more resolution in the Leica. the Leica was very bright and crisp, whereas the Vortex was very good, but didn't exactly wow me.

What are your thoughts on these two? They are basically the same price. I have a TT 5-25, Schmidt Bender 5-25 with the DTII+ turrets, and I love them, but I wanted something less expensive for a 22LR build.

Looks like the Leica has quite a bit bigger FOV, being that it's 30x on the top end.

I need to get the Vortex to the range and check it out more thoroughly, but I'm feeling like I made a mistake.

SOLD Tangent Theta 5-25 Gen 3 XR

Sadly my match days are slowing down due to new life commitments as a dad. Don’t need this scope sitting around collecting dust.

I’ll start with the bad, the object cap doesn’t spring open but once it’s flipped all the way open, it will stay open. How I got it from the previous owner. The windage knob has a little brass rash on it as well. Past that, it’s everything you’d expect a Tangent to be. Asking 3650 shipped, or trade for a kahles dlr 5-25 lsw with cash on top.

Mount is not for sale.

SOLD Leupold mk6 1-6 5.56 cmr-w

My favorite LPVO. Took this to a couple courses and used it as my truck gun optic for several years. As such it’s got some exterior salt but the glass and function is 100% 1600$ to your door or 1700 with the mount. I know these are rare but I don’t need to gouge, just need to move it along without dealing with tire kickers and low ballers without the class to negotiate. No trades, Venmo, ppal, Zelle.

A discussion about "problems"

<added to say that I apologize in advance for this likely coming across as a George Carlin type of 'bit, it wasn't my original intention>

I want to talk about "problems" or at least the concept of "problems".

I've got my own "problems" (and I do), you've got your "problems" (and you do), our neighborhoods/county's/ states/ federal government have "problems" (and they do).

There's all kinds of "problems" out there in the world- in no particular order, there's financial/emotional/governmental/mental/sexual/work/familial/etc type of "problems". We've made great big strides in identifying all the sorts of "problems" we all exist amongst over the years. I really doubt that anything in that particular comment is all that controversial or something worth squabbling about. I'd even 'double down' and say that over the past few decades we've become a nation that's hyper aware of our "problems".

But, and this is a 'Sir Mix-a-Lot' emphasis on butts level, I'd humbly suggest that we've become a nation that has chosen (or was engineered) to accept these "problems". We not only accept them as being "problems" but we have entire groups that use these as their personal identities. And we stand in a circle holding our proverbial dicks in our hands because we're only talking about "problems" and somewhere down the line seemed to gave up on talking about solutions and continue to make our "problems" an identity/ a protected "class" (and honestly there's more 'value' in aligning with that mentality than has ever been in existence before in our country). Everybody is "special" & everyone has "problems" but over the past 20 years we stopped asking "why" and instead categorized everyone into these social buckets and accepted that as our reality.

Stepping off of my soap box- I just want to leave you with this... I'd argue we need to collectively reevaluate our perceptions (and be open to our reality being a social construct designed by 'somebody' else). Why is it contrary to point out problems while using them as an identity? Why are independent thoughts questioning this societal construct silenced and why does the conversation never switch to how the perceived "problems" could ultimately be addressed?

It's fucking wild right? We're all experiencing problems, likely the same type of problems, being 'adminstered' by elected official with far greater "problems" than we have in our inner circles (and I'd also argue that exists by design because it makes "us" feel "better" because while our personal life may be a daily battle , at least our perceived household is still "better off" than our elected officials/ local/state/federal government.

And we beat our chest saying that everything is fucked, meanwhile everything in our lives (family & career) is fucked but "we" seem to feel better because by everything else being fucked it gives us some sort of weird Stockholm Syndrome.

SOLD Carbon Fiber barrel, Impact 737R take off, 6.5 Creedmoor

Impact 747R take off, 6.5 Creedmoor, 24 in.

This is a take off from a complete rifle I purchased locally. The barrel, action, and stock were immaculate, leading to the conclusion this barrel has seen very few rounds, but I have no way to know. The family member who sold this rifle (the owner died) said the was a Bartlein barrel but no marks to indicate manufacturer.

Only trade would be for an Impact Precision 737R action with .223 bolt face, with extra cash on my end.

Zelle or Venmo preferred payment.

$700 includes shipping. Full insurance extra if you choose to purchase that.

Thanks

I want to take my hand loading up a notch, help me pick a new press please.

I got into hand loading loading .45acp, 9x19 and 5.56x45. Just making decent but plinking ammo, long story short I went for mostly LEE products and grabbed one of their Challenger presses which was a new thing at the time I believe that had the locking bushing to quick swap dies so I didn’t have to redo setup every time I changed a die….

Was still annoying and I hate single stage for doing a lot of ammo, BUT that press was good enough to get me going, learn and make some ammo.

Now I have shifted focus less on volume (thank goodness as that was the wrong tool for that job) and more on precision.

I have my doubts with the bushing system of that press…. And so I’m wondering where to start looking to make match quality top shelf ammunition. I have a set of Lyman .308 dies i inherited, I recently bought a .308 bolt action that’s heavily focused on long range accuracy.

Would I be wasting my time with that press? And if so, what’s an upper end of the bell curve value press that’s not going to break my wallet but I can rely on? I don’t have Dillon compound press money….and since this will be low volume, I’m absolutely more focused on accuracy and repeatability, so single stage is what I’m after here.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Red dot on Glock without slide cut?

Hey guys,
milling a slide is just a pita over here, so I´m looking for a good alternative.

Are there bulletproofed solutions to mount a red dot on a Glock without a slide cut?

I want to add a Steiner MPS on a Glock 31.

I´ve found this on youtube, beginning at 2:55 min.:

But no Steiner MPS (Aimpoint Acro footprint) there.

SOLD Atlas Titan

BLUF: Lots of parts and backstory, $5100 shipped

I’ve had this for about 2 years and I initially got it as a Gen 1 Titan chambered in .40 without an optic cut. I sent it out to DSC gunworks to get the following done:

-Recoat entire gun
-Bronze 9mm barrel
-Cut for Atlas optic plates
-Trigger job
-Cut for flashlight rail (if you have a good eye you’ll notice that the recoil lug slot isn’t as far back as it should be and you’d be right, the manufacturer info is on the bottom and he cut it as far back as possible without disrupting that. You can still run a X300-B if you remove the lug and just clamp it on the sides super tight. Lame, I know imagine my discontent when it was done without knowing that upfront)

Since then it’s got at least 4,000 rounds on it if I had to guess. None of the wear you see is from being negligent, I just used this gun a lot in dry fire and to be a USPSA gamer.

Includes:
-Gun
-Holosun 507Comp
-5x 23rd (as configured) 9mm mags 140mm
-3x 140mm MBX mags for .40cal
-3x various holsters, 2 have QLS forks
-Atlas Iron sight plate
-Dawson Ice magwell with 1 used and 1 brand new insert
-3x different extra triggers, one red dirt, one infinity, one that I cant remember
-KKM .40 cal barrel with appropriate spring
-Atlas recoil spring tuning pack
-Wilson shock buffs
-6x Staccato basepads and springs to return the modded tubes to factory
-4x Grams spring/follower with TTI basepads for Staccato tubes
-Atlas thumb ledge
-Standard slide stop
-MPA shielded safety
-EGW mag release paddle
-Case
-Additional small parts not pictured

Gun and case ships to your FFL, all else will go to you direct. Insurance not included.
