Well... not "scare..." per se. All the active participants in this forum can't be all that "scared" or they wouldn't be here very long.

But let's put it this way. Which of our Fed. Govt. agencies (and their heads) do you think represents the greatest potential negative impact on gun owners? DOJ? FBI? ATF? I was watching a YouTube video by Washington Gun Law Channel owner William Kirk. He was discussing whether or not the negative response from the 2A community over the nomination of Pam Bondi is really justified. Yes, she did do all those things as FL AG ( laws, raise the age to 21, and lobby against OC). But he proffers the argument that this was what she was supposed to do in her capacity as FL AG and may not be her personal preference. It was the law of the land (via the FL legislature at the time) and she had to support it. I'm not so sure I agree, but...

What Kirk says we should be more concerned about is who becomes the Dir. of ATF. Assuming that the DOJ will let it run as autonomously as it has been previously (I guess because ATF and DOJ were "aligned" to this point, but...). So, if Brandon Herrera becomes ATF Director, will we be better off even though Pam Bondi is AG? Or, will Bondi just override him? Don't know.

I think for me, the people/agency that have the greatest negative impact on me, personally, would be those that want to impose a national law. If Bondi has that on her agenda, then she's a really bad choice. Or, if it's on the agenda of the other agencies, as well. Now I also saw "Lehto's Law" video that stated the "Institute for Justice" was able to get the DEA to suspend Civil Asset Forfeitures at the airports, etc. So that's a good thing. We'll see how that goes.

Most of us have seen some pretty horrible things and met some seriously evil people.

My wife and I walk a few miles together each day. For some reason, in the rural Deep South, many people have absolutely no natural sympathy for animals. It is shocking how often we run across dead or dying puppies and kittens dumped on the road just a mile from our house — like at least a dozen times or more per year.

We’ve rescued, conservatively, 30-40 cats and dogs that survived and 2-3 times that number we found dead, often tied inside Hefty bags or just tossed out while moving.

We were walking and spotted a large contractor garbage bag about 6-10 feet off the side of our road. As we got closer we saw the bag move, which is not uncommon. These two puppies were inside — one boy, one girl. I’m surprised they hadn’t suffocated, which means they were probably dumped a few minutes before we got there, as the bag was tied shut and there were no holes.



They were super shy and afraid at first and hid under the stairs.

I can’t help but wonder what kind of human would do something like that to such docile, innocent animals. It’s no coincidence that most twisted serial killers start by abusing animals first.

What’s that old expression about knowing a man by how he treats animals?

I am used to lapping my rings, but I thought smarter people here might have something to teach me: is there any point in lapping rings for a .22 that will not be used at distances longer than 100 yards?

I know I'll end up lapping them no matter what. It will bother me if I don't.

I'm working on reloading 6.5 Creedmoor. After looking at saami specs and hornady book... Numbers don't seem to match up.

All my factory ammo when using the hornady compactor headspace tool seems to measure the headspace using the .400 D gauge at 1.531 - 1.533 - knowing Saami isn't that.. I'm guessing the gauge is more of a reference vs an exact measurement?! Just making sure I'm not going insane or something is off.. My calipers are zeroed with with the comparator on. Any info or encouragement is much appreciated!

For the BL550 press, it does not come with shell plate, correct? Just confirming as they didn't mention this in the "at minimum you need these things also" list.

Which means, I need to get a shell plate or a conversion kit. The kit includes the (metal) powder and the pins. Do I absolutely need those as it mentions that this powder funnel is to "activate the automatic powder dispenser", and I am manually measuring and pouring the powder in. Perhaps I need this so the powder doesn't pour everywhere and out the case? For the pins, I watched a couple guys on YT and they didn't had any pins attached to the plate.

Looking for loading 6mm Dasher with either as a single stage or manually index the press. That's the only caliber I am loading ATM.
