SOLD Manners EH1

Selling my manners eh1 for a rem 700 sa. It has been fully pillar bedded for a thick recoil lug but any good smith can open it up for any 700 short just about. Contoured for a proof sendero and comes with flush cups, a 419 mini arca, a front pic rail, and a savage threadworks stock pack. Also coming with full hawkins dbm. It is elite tac camo but is spray painted pretty badass if I do say so myself. Nothing some acetone wouldn't fix though. Shoot me a message if you'd like pictures or have questions. Asking 750.

Load Development for 1k yard supersonic 308 - 168GR TMK - 20 inch barrel

Hello,

I thought I would document my journey of developing a supersonic to 1k+ load for my B14 HMR. A key consideration was the limited barrel length of 20". Limiting at least in the context of meeting my goal with some of the lower BC bullets I had on hand. I initially started target shooting about 4 years ago. My first target rifle was a savage 10T-SR with a 24x DBT I barely shot it. I then got a fantastic deal on a B14 HMR in 308. which in the past year I have really enjoyed.

My initial shooting was with a batch of 100x Hornady 178GR BTHP match factory ammo. It was around 1.5 MOA (5 shot groups unless noted otherwise).

I loaded some 168 GR A-max's after that which were accurate at 0.6MOA at 2628 FPS on 43.7GR of Varget. However the commonality between most of the 308 factory ammo and bullets I found was they were not supersonic out to 1k. So I began load development based on the 168gr TMK. I have shot the 77gr TMK before in my 223 bolt gun and was pleasantly surprised. Further to this the BC's were very high.

Rifle: Bergara B14 HMR in 308 20"
Optic: 24x DBT

I was not feeling particularly stable. Below were my initial results.

1706626454008.png
1706626518849.png

0.75 MOA is good enough for me. My goal is to hit a 10inch gong at 1k yards. So that gets me in the ballpark. My velocity goal was 2600 and was hoping for near single digit SD's. So both of those goals were met. SD of 7 is great by my standards.

I have started doing larger increments with my initial load development than in the past and it has become a preference. I also do not believe there is much reason to go below 0.2GR increments with the sample size of 5 shot groups. I would expect a 10 shot group minimum to yield repeatable results.

With a ballpark figure of 44.2 GR and COAL of 2.870 feel I have a great starting point. I am beyond fortunate having access to a farm to shoot on 50% of the year when the corn isn't too high, I probably shoot 20 weekends per year, or more. hopefully within a couple weeks I can get out and do this load dev. Below is my next loading table.

1706627091025.png

I usually am unable to hit the rifling using the standard magazine since I primarily reload 223 and 308 for AR length mags. However in the case of this bullet at 2.887 I am still a long way from the rifling. I like fabricating unnecessary problems for myself, and worrying about things that don't actually matter. so the change in COAL is probably not needed. They will fit in a steel MDT magazine, but not a standard plastic magazine. but that was the primary change this time around. seating the bullets out 0.015 longer.

Within my next update I intend to include; testing results of the second table, a measured distance of jump, And hopefully a final selection on what to load for my 1000 yards goal. Also note I am using nickel plated brass because it makes me feel fancy.

RL TS 15.5 in .308

Howdy all. Been a while since I was here.

I'm looking for any info on RL TS 15.5 in .308. And yes, I did do a search with only a couple of hits. Apologies if I missed the info. So I'll give it a try, and see what turns up. Your knowledge will be appreciated!

I recently got an 8# jug of this powder - mostly 'cause I wasn't paying close enough attention. So, now I'm trying to find data. This will be using 168 - 175 grain SMK's & TMK's, along with Hor and NCC bullets, and new Norma brass. Primers on hand are std CCI & Win LRP's - no Mag or BR primers. Rifle has a 20", mid weight, 10 twist, SS fluted barrel, in an AR style rifle. I really don't want this powder to go to waste, and I don't do the heavies.

TIA,
Mike.

Government monitoring bank transactions and immigration check point.??

The other day I had some Zelle money transferred to my bank from my friend’s sister living in florida. She asked me to give this money to her sister in Colombia when I fly there.

In Cartagena, I made multiple ATM transactions to collect pesos for my friend.

Upon my return entry into USA , ICE agent asked me if I had any food items to declare. I replied none. Then he saw something on his computer screen and asked me how much money I was carrying.

This caught me totally off guard because in my 30 plus years of international travels for both work and pleasure I have NEVER been asked about money.

I replied with the amount I was carrying (under $10K) and he handed me my passport and I proceeded through customs and into airport for my next flight to DFW.

Strange coincidence indeed

Precision Rifle Gear 3D Printing a Better Ammo Box

So I've wanted an excuse to buy a 3D printer for a while simply to make this. Finally took the plunge and picked one up. Coming into this, I knew zero about CAD design or 3D printing...so it's been alot of YouTube but I finally made a thing. Be gentle...I had no idea what I was doing and had to teach myself.

This is a replacement for the black insert that comes with the MTM H50-XL Deluxe Ammo Box ( https://mtmcase-gard.com/products/deluxe-ammo-box-50-round-handle-300-wsm-300-rem-ultra-mag ).

It is designed to more securely hold loaded 300 PRC ammo for transport. The insert that comes with the box holds the ammo near the bullet tip. I've never liked this design...especially as someone who often flies with loaded reloads. Ammo often arrives having banged around in the case. I've even seen this change my COAL and (I would assume) concentricity of loaded rounds. So this was designed to hold the body tighter and index off the shoulder and not the bullet. The bullet floats freely with the only "pressure" being on the shoulder of the case. In addition, I also increased the height of the insert to securely hold more of the body of the case. In theory, I feel this should be a better solution.

The cartridge cuts for the case were made from SAAMI spec 300 PRC dimensions. The COAL should be plenty long for 99.9% of 300 PRC reloads, even those that go beyond standard mag length. Of course this will also work for similar cartridges beyond the 300 PRC, but YMMV depending on what you use.

So why not design a whole new ammo box with this integrated? Well that was my original intent, but I like this solution better. I don't think you're going to print a more secure or better box than the injection molded plastic that MTM makes. I think this is the best of both worlds.

Next step will be making more insert for my other cartridges I commonly travel with.

You can download it here if you want to give it a try: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5810858

Update: I added a 300 Norma flavor here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6912191

Gavin Newsom Asks Social Media Users to Help Design New California Coin and it Blows Up in His Face.

newsom.jpg

California Governor Gavin Newsom asked social media users to help design a new $1 coin to honor the state’s innovations on Thursday, and it unsurprisingly blew up in his face.
As Gateway Pundit readers know, the Golden State is suffering from various maladies under Newsom’s watch. These include a severe homelessness epidemic, skyrocketing crime, unaffordable taxes, and high electricity costs.
This has led to a mass exodus of businesses and residents. But Newsom, for some reason, thought social media users would lavish California with praise instead.

Calling all members of the Tortured Coin Designers Department…
CA is getting its own $1 coin to honor innovation, slated to be issued in 2026 – and we need your help!
What is a CA innovation you’d like to see featured on the coin? Send ideas to: [email protected] pic.twitter.com/oOdw4qICtZ
— California Governor (@CAgovernor) April 25, 2024
Newsom probably wishes he never clicked “publish” because the replies he received were universally negative. Many of these focused on the filthy streets, Californians leaving for greener pastures, and even Newsom’s tyrannical COVID-19 pandemic policies.
