SOLD Nighthawk Custom Vice President Doublestack 9mm w/upgrades

SOLD

For sale is a lightly used Nighthawk Custom 9mm Vice President. 4.25" bushing barrel, IOS optic system, two NH mags.

I had the factory install ambi safeties and a .19 gold bead front sight, but the original parts are included. Also included is an SRO IOS plate.

The gun is great, but I'm realizing I'm not into metal grips, and this gun is too nice to be a safe queen.

Asking $4000 shipped. (Insurance extra) Open to reasonable cash offers, but no trades please.

For sale only where unambiguously legal. I can take cashier's check, regular check (clears before shipping), or money order. Unfortunately I can't do electronic payments for this.

Cross-posted.

A work in progress

I bought this Remington 581 a little over 2 years ago. At the time, the trigger was frozen. It was also missing the magazine and rear sight. Annnnd....the buttplate was missing a chunk.

Loooooong soaks in acetone, followed by liberal spraying with WD40, followed by applications of RemOil freed the trigger. An aftermarket mag was found, as was a reproduction buttplate. I just installed a Bushnell Rimfire 3-9x scope, instead of an ungainly 4-12x I originally had for it.

Rimfire Anschutz 54 Magazine Loader, Protective Caps, and Biathlon Extended Magazine Baseplate

I have 3D-printed magazine accessories available for the curved 10-shot magazines (factory part number 1420-U13) for Anschutz rifles. This includes models 54, 64, 1710, 1712, 1416, 1417. These are things that I made for myself and use them with my Anschutz 1710 competition rifle, but then other Anschutz shooters at local matches wanted some too, and I'm also now making them available here. I already have a listing here of items for the Vudoo V22.

Most items are made to order, so you can pick your colors and/or options. If you're like me and color doesn't really matter (or you don't specify as a comment with your order), I'll just pick it out for you based on what I have already made or the filament I've got loaded in the 3D printer. On the shelf I usually have them pre-made in red or yellow (easy to find in your range bag), but they can also be made in white, black, gray, or blue. Check with me on other colors if you need something else, like to coordinate with your custom stock.

I combine shipping... add $4 shipping on your first item and then there is no additional shipping cost for more items.

If you see "ANSCHUTZ" or "ANSCHÜTZ"on an item, it is merely to identify what gun it goes with... this is not in any way trying to infringe on Anschütz's excellent rifles and their trademarks.

NOTE THAT THE PHOTOS MAY SHOW A COMBINATION OF ITEMS AND HOW THEY'RE USED TOGETHER. EACH SELECTION IS FOR A SINGLE TYPE ITEM ONLY.

1. A thumb-assist magazine loader for Anschutz 1420-series repeater magazines (used in models 54, 64, 1710, 1712, 1416, and 1417). I found that it was difficult to load the last several rounds into my 10-round magazines as they started to get fuller. This thumb-assist loader makes it A LOT easier! I specifically designed it to work well with the curvature of these magazines. Also, if you have trouble pushing the previous round "just right" to avoid rim-lock, then this tool helps with that too, giving you just the right depth before you push in the next cartridge. $15. Only ONE is included, though some of the photos show multiple ones together.

1A. A thumb-assist magazine loader that's just slightly different than #1 so that it works for the same Anschutz magazines *AND* Savage MKII magazines that have been modified to fit the Anschutz 54/64 guns. It fits perfectly on the modified Savage mags, but has a little slop when used on factory Anschutz mags... but you can use it on both if you prefer to purchase only one loader. $15.

2. Magazine Caps -- if you like to pre-load your 1420-series magazines before going to the range (like I do, especially on competition days), these slip-on/snap-in caps protect that exposed top cartridge from bullet damage. $7 for five, $12 for ten. This item is only the red cap (in your selected quantity and color) shown in the photo, not the magazines nor loaders also shown in some photos.

3. Biathlon style magazine base -- For you 5-round mag folks that want a better grip -- especially if you have a narrow magwell gun like the 54.18 MSR -- I made these biathlon-ish replacement bases in Nordic style. They slide-fit just like the factory mag bases, and have the same spring-nub notch. These take about an hour each to produce, so I'm not stocking them but will make them on request, in red, orange, black or gray. $12 each, or $10 each for 3 or more. This item is only the base piece... you'll need to use your own magazine and spring.

Sidearms & Scatterguns P229 Legion Frame Question ...

Years ago, from SIG, I purchased a slide with a Romeo 1 red dot on it for my non-optics P229 Legion (9mm). I've since decided I wanted a Legion frame/lower to put that nearly new original slide to good use. Should be no problem, right? Wrong. I can't find a frame-only, Legion or otherwise, anywhere. An inquiry to SIG told me to go to GunBroker (none there), or to a local dealer (none of whom have nor can get one).

Looking for advice from the "collective" here on where I can locate a P229 Legion (or non-Legion) frame/lower to give my lonely slide a fulfilling purpose in life.

Anybody got any ideas? What am I missing here? I'd hate to think this Legion slide is now just a door-stop.

Rough Rust-like finish inside alpha brass necks

Does anyone get this rough, rust-like finish and color inside their brass neck after firing/cleaning/resizing? I loaded up some 6.5cm rounds after one firing. Dry media cleaned. Resized with sac die (.003" neck tension). and they were extremely heavy seating force and inconsistent seating depths with my l.e. wilson so i looked inside the necks and saw this. Any way to avoid this? I ended up having to use some dry neck lube (graphite) to help with lowering the seating force to feel normal and get my seating depth consistent. Didn't have any issues with the new brass (alpha munitions ocd LRP). This was after one firing. Any one deal with this or have a solution to prevent this?
Thanks,

Help ID post 64 M70 trigger guard for m40a1

Having some issues tracking down a genuine m70 post 64 trigger guard. This one in particular has a series of round hole/dimples on the top but I haven’t seen that in other post 64 guards I’ve referenced. I’ve included a photo from a page of one round war with a m70 before and after it’s been trimmed to fit a m40a1 and there are none of these dimples present.

Any help would be appreciated

NEW 2A ALERT for WA State 2025: HB1504 mandatory liability insurance for gun owners, range operators, and dealers introduced by WA Democrats.

67914b8566722.image.jpg

JANUARY 22, 2025

A panel of Washington State Democrats have just introduced House Bill 1504 which would effectively price gun owners out of firearms ownership, eliminate legitimate defensive firearms use through predatory financial burden, and put lawful dealers and shooting range operators out of business.

HB1504 would mandate that gun owners would have to put down a deposit of $25,000, with the receipt of the transaction to be displayed whenever they seek to purchase a firearm. It also requires shooting range operators to have minimum $1,000,000 coverage per "incident" on their premises.

Once again disguised under the veil of "public safety", HB1504's real intent is to discourage and gradually completely eliminate ALL lawful gun ownership and use in the State of Washington through a tactic employed by most modern totalitarian regimes like Communist China, as well as historical organized crime: by hitting their targets in their checkbooks and making it too expensive for them to thrive within their area of operations.

NOTICE: This is a NEW antigun bill which just had been introduced and was picked up by eagle eyed Youtube 2A podcasters. Once it starts moving and other parties become involved, updates will be posted with chronological bullet points in the OP.

HB1504 SUMMARY AND TEXT:

DISCOURSE FROM MR. WILLIAM KIRK OF WASHINGTON GUN LAW:

Q Boombox In Subsonic 8.6 Blackout - Anyone With Accuracy Data?

Does anyone have direct experience with or a reliable source for Boombox subsonic accuracy in 8.6 Blackout at a range of 300 yards +/-?

Subsonic accuracy of 1.5 MOA at 300 yards is my desired spec for reliable subsonic kills on coyote and hogs. I've been waiting for a few years for a subsonic AR 8.6/338 option that will repeatably meet this performance level with high quality factory ammo, preferably with a reasonably high BC bullet to buck wind. I was encouraged when Q announced that the Boombox would be 1 MOA or better with factory subsonic ammo, but I can't find any trusted range test results on the boombox with subsonic ammo.

Also, anyone have experience or reliable accuracy data on an AR that achieves this level of performance with factory 338 ARC 307 Sub-X?
