Tikka 260 Rem - First 9 Shots With Different Charge Weights Have Flyers

Issue: All three shot groups have a flyer (3rd shot). The first two shots from all groups are always right next to each other. One group in particular had the first two shots in the same hole. Each group consists of 3 shots. I'll be using the rifle mainly for long-range hunting (100-600 yds) and sometimes target shooting to 1K. All cases were NOT trimmed as it is still under the maximum chamber length (2.0655"). No pressure signs on all of the groups shot. The reloading recipe I'm using is from Nosler. The maximum power grains is 46.0 but I'm still way below that. Their recommended powder charge is 44.0 for the most accurate load. The case length in their recipe is 2.036". I'm using my chamber length as a guide vs their recipe.

Group 1: The first two shots (B1 & B2) were the same hole. 3rd (B3) shot was 0.47" center to center.
G1.jpg

Powder Grains: 42.0

Group 2: 1st and 2nd (B1 & B2)shot are 0.20" center to center. 3rd (B3) shot was 1.49" away.

Powder Grains: 42.5

Group 3: 1st 7 2nd shot was the same hole (B1 & B2). 3rd shot was 1.3" away.

I shot 9 rounds which is the first load I created for my Tikka 260 Rem on a Manners Stock EH1TK (with mini-chassis) and Benchmark barrel. I'm using Forster Coax Press and RCBS dies. Here are the details of my components.

Rifle has a bipod and I load it when shooting. I use an ear bag for vertical adjustments.

Used Magnetospeed with bayo firmly attached to the barrel.

Criterion barrels - Accuracy

A while back, I decided that I wanted to go with barrels that would stand up to hard use a bit better than the run of the mill Ballistic Advantage or Roscoe type barrels and decided to go with Criterion.

I went with a 14.5 Core to run with a 10x scope, a 13.9 Core to run with an ACOG and a 12.5 Hybrid to run with a red dot and suppressed. The 12.5 gets the hardest use.

I don't handload anymore and when hunting for ammo, I look for a bang for the buck. I've run 77gr Razor Core, AAC 77gr and some other upper quality heavy rounds. I've also run 55gr V-Max from Black Dot Ammo, AAC 55gr V-Max, ADI 55gr Blitzking, etc.

The best all three barrels will do for me when running the heavier stuff is about 2 MOA. When running the lighter stuff, shooting MOA or better is easy. I can get 2.5 MOA with good M193 and M855.

Is this a characteristic of Criterion barrels or did I just manage to get three barrels that act the same way?

Teacher & Dem Co Chair Arrested For Masturbating in Front of His Students

Hands on instruction, I guess.

A 14-year-old girl who witnessed the incident told law enforcement Bowers “would not get out of his seat and didn’t tell us to do anything.”

“There was white stuff on his pants and he would not get up for anything. He had his hand down there and was sweating but it was cold in his room,” she explained.

Why the Little Things Matter

I've spent the better part of six months gathering data and putting together a video about why the small things matter. It included two small things I do in my reloading process that have tangible results, and also included data on the nearly 200 rounds worth of testing I did to support. However, it was way too freaking long, so I split it in two. I just published the first part of the video, and augmented it with some additional content. Sorry, the two small things will have to wait for the second "half" to get edited and augmented :)

Rifle Scopes S&B DTII+ turret does not zero

I have a 3-20x50 PMII Ultra Short LP from Schmidt and Bender.

The windage turret is the ST II ZC LT.

I have issues zeroing it. The cross hair still moves after having loosened both screws and I wonder what I did wrong.

Zeroing the elevation turret was no problem.

Any ideas or tricks you know I could try?
Otherwise I will ship it in for service.

SOLD Aero 308 build and large frame parts stash, mags, tactical brass, etc

What to say about this . . .

When I first got into guns, ARs, and silencers, I was determined to make a large frame run as well as a suppressed small frame. Just go shoot, no drama. Don't have to clean it after 100 rounds or stop and adjust the gas block or destroy brass and eat gas. Just runs.

It took a long time and many iterations of parts but I finally found a winner- criterion rifle length 308, oss can/muzzle device, a5 tube and standard a2 buffer with a springco spring, sentry gas block.

This gun just runs. No drama. Once I found the winning combo though I realized I don't even really like large frames. More of a bolt guy. Just couldn't give up the challenge.

Anyhow I'm getting out of large frames.
Comes with my tactical brass catcher, 6 mags, extra barrels, silent capture spring if you ever want to play with that (I wouldn't) extra BCG, fancy single stage trigger tech green trigger (these are like $300) and anything else I might find.

Kinda sad to watch this thing go but I'm trying to focus on the things I actually shoot and enjoy, which is basically 9mm pistols and bolt action rifles. Everything else is going.

It's no show piece - vice mar on the top from clamping it like an idiot while I mounted a muzzle device. A bit of extra loctite dripping out from securing the handguard fasteners.

Basically this is a good head start for folks wanting to DIY and blast pigs or eat up some milsurp or whatever you're into with a 308 gas gun. Shoots great, it could do anything.

I'm not really sure if I want to ship or not, would prefer face to face in TN but might ship individual to FFL or even FFL to FFL if you pay for it.

I also don't need to give it away so I'm going to price it low and hang tight. If nobody wants it there's room to keep it around. Won't split anything.

Thanks for looking.

$800 plus shipping.

Newly Released Infiray Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2—Huge Upgrades over the V1

Introducing the InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2: The Ultimate Thermal Tool

The InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2 is an absolute game changer in the thermal optics world. This new V2 model cranks up everything you loved about the original RH25 and makes it even better. Whether you’re running it handheld, helmet-mounted, or strapped to your rifle, the RH25 V2 delivers the versatility and performance you need, all in a compact, badass package.

What’s New with the RH25 V2?

The V2 isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a full-on evolution of what a thermal monocular should be:

Enhanced Image Quality: The RH25 V2 features an upgraded <15mK sensor, which means better detection, greater clarity, and sharper images, even when conditions get tough. Fog, rain, heat? No problem. This unit punches through it all.

Superior Clip-On Capability: Thanks to the massive 1440x1080 AMOLED display that’s 80% bigger than the V1, this thing holds up on scopes with up to 6x base magnification. Translation: crisp thermal imaging, even at long range. Perfect for those long-distance shots where every detail counts.

F1.0 Manual Focus Lens: With the new f/1.0 lens, you get total control over your focus. Whether you’re scanning wide or zooming in on a target, the V2 delivers sharp, clear visuals every time.

Mounting Options for Any Mission: Handheld, helmet-mounted, or rifle-mounted, the RH25 V2 can do it all. It’s compatible with the AC53 Obverse mount, Pictail adapter, and MQD mount, so you’re covered for whatever setup you need. Just keep in mind, the included picatinny mount isn’t QD, so grab some aftermarket gear if you want that fast-swap action.

Built Tough for the Field: The magnesium alloy housing keeps it lightweight but durable. This unit is built to survive long missions and harsh conditions, with USB-C for power and extended battery life that won’t let you down when things get intense.

Why You Need the Upgrade
If you ran the original RH25, you’re going to feel the difference right away. The improved thermal sensitivity and higher-resolution display mean sharper, more detailed images and better target identification, even in the worst conditions. Add in the bigger AMOLED screen and the improved sensor, and you’ve got a tool that doesn’t just perform—it dominates.
The RH25 V2 isn’t just a thermal monocular—it’s your go-to for detection, pursuit, and evasion, all in a package that fits in your hand or on your helmet.

If you need cutting-edge gear for hunting, tactical missions, or any adventure that demands top-tier thermal tech, the InfiRay Outdoor RICO Micro RH25 V2 delivers.

308 with accuracy/consistency issues

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can help me decide my next move. I have a home built ar10 that is very inconsistent. Major parts are:

Aero m5e1 builder kit
Aero BCG
Rainier Ultramatch mod2 18" 1:10 308 barrel
Superlative arms gas block
Geissele ssae
Jp buffer system

When trying to work up a load for it I noticed it is wildly inconsistent. A few different times I found loads that shot really well on the initial test groups, but then would open up like crazy for no apparent reason. The most extreme example was a load that shot multiple .25 moa groups, and the next day when I set up to chrono it the same recipe measured over 3 inches on the first group, and never dropped below an inch again on further testing. I lapped the receiver and bedded the barrel. I double checked all torque values. I also used go/no go gauges to check headspace. I tried shooting it dirty as well as after a deep clean. After switching powders and projectiles multiple times, I never have found a way to make it consistent, whether good or bad. I tried shooting a box of berger 175s to see what it would do with factory ammo, and it shot an average over 10 rounds of almost 4 inches.

So the spot I'm in now is I'm wondering how to fix this rifle. Maybe Rainier barrels just suck, and I need to rebarrel it. I'm more inclined to think something else is contributing to this though. I've had several people tell me I'm lucky if I get an ar10 under 2 inches, but I've seen enough examples to the contrary to think this isn't the maximum potential of the rifle.

One thing that may or may not be related is a weird symptom I'm seeing on the base of some of my cases. I see what looks like a smear of brass near the primer. Something is gouging into it and pushing the brass into a little bump that I can flake off with my fingernail. The fact that it only happens to some of the brass and not all tells me something inconsistent is happening that may be related in some way to my accuracy issues. So do I just need to get in line for a high end custom barrel or is there something else to look at? Thanks!
