  • Poll
Are ALL navy veterans SEALs or just the ones I meet?

Are all veterans now SEALs? 🦭 🤔

  • Yes and thank them for their service and buy their book

  • lol. Yeah, sure they are.

Results are only viewable after voting.

Holy Phuck balls. Maybe it’s me but it seems the last 5 guys I’ve met have all claimed to be NAVY SEALs. I’m not even asking, I’m not displaying ANY military stuff. They just come right up to me and it starts off.

Oh blah blah blah told me you were in the service. I just wanted to come over and tell you how I was a SEAL and I got blowed up so that’s why I’m 260lbs of man flab.

I’m like “yeah man, I served as a nothing, doing nothing, I just needed money for college”

Then I let them talk, oh how they talk. They talk about EVERYTHING name dropping names like I even know these people. Idk anyone. Like I said I didn’t do anything, anywhere for anyone.

I just tell them I pushed a muffin cart at the Naval Hospital 😏

I usually thank them for their cervix then laugh about it with guys I know who were on the teams.

Here’s the rub, they guys I know who were 100% on the teams never talk to ME about anything and they don’t need to. I’ve heard a few stories about the training. Enough to know how to spot a fake.

I used to think it was a horrendous crime against our brothers who stood up, raised their hand and willingly sought that life. Turns out they are VP material not criminals.

If you are a stolen valor Phuck like VP hopeful Tim I hope you stub your pinky toe today, tomorrow and the next day.

Next SeAL I meet telling me silly stories I’m posting your pic online.

Rifle Scopes Bubble level for ZCO

What are people using for a bubble level on a ZCO. Making a chassis change and will need to add a bubble level. Not sure if I want to stomach the cost of the electronic SendIt but have seen how great they are, also not sure if I can get away with a rail mounted option like a HopticUSA that is low profile and can be adaptable on different rifles and different tube sizes.
Been out of the bubble level game for a few years and not sure what to be looking at!

6ar turbo 40 fire forming issue

I’m having a problem with fire forming cases in my 6ar turbo 40. I fireformed 50 hornady cases with zero issues using the false shoulder method to keep the base against the bolt face. I then loaded 100 virgin lapua cases using the same method. Shot 15 and had split shoulders on half of them. I have several wild cats and a few of those are ackley or other forms of improved cases and have never had anything close to a 50% failure. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

I have the gas block shut off so it is acting as a bolt action during fire forming. I will say the cases are difficult to extract but no signs of overpressure.

Upper Receiver to Barrel Nut Thread Tightness - Does it matter at all?

Sometimes you get a barrel nut that has a pretty tight fit with the upper receiver threads (no play, you need to use a bit of force to thread the barrel nut all the way) and other times you get a barrel nut that threads on super easy and wiggles around on the receiver threads until it tightens up against the barrel extension lip.

Does the tightness of the thread fit between the upper receiver and barrel nut matter at all if you are trying to squeeze the most accuracy out of your AR?

I’m curious if barrel nut with loose threads (but is properly torqued) is more likely to cause rail deflection or barrel harmonics issues?

Does the presence of Aeroshell grease on the threads make this whole topic irrelevant?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen this topic discussed.

Georgetown Students Offered Post-Election Legos and Cocoa in ‘Self-Care Suite’

Legoland Windsor Resort unveils its tributes to British Athletes including Max Whitlock, K

John Nolte5 Nov 2024257

Students at Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy will have access to Legos, cocoa, and coloring books in a post-Election Day “Self-Care Suite.”
“In an email to McCourt students,” reports the Free Press, “Jaclyn Clevenger, the school’s director of student engagement, introduced the school’s post-election ‘Self-Care Suite.’”
“In recognition of these stressful times,” she adds, “all McCourt community members are welcome to gather. . . in the 3rd floor Commons to take a much-needed break, joining us for mindfulness activities and snacks throughout the day.”
Here’s the list of activities, and the Free Press assures us this is not made up:
  • 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.: Tea, Cocoa, and Self-Care
  • 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Legos Station
  • 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.: Healthy Treats and Healthy Habits
  • 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.: Coloring and Mindfulness Exercises
  • 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.: Milk and Cookies
  • 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.: Legos and Coloring
  • 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.: Snacks and Self-Guided Meditation
As a proud member of Generation X, this blows my mind. If someone tried to treat my generation like babies in middle school we would have laughed them off the planet. This is college. This is not just college, this is Georgetown. What have we done to raise a generation that would not only stand for this, but welcome, demand, and participate in it?
I can see getting drunk. I can see lifting weights, going out for a run, or eating an entire birthday cake in front of a Married with Children marathon. We all process our disappointments in our own way. But this is beyond coddling. It’s actually sinister.
Georgetown understands that keeping young people spoiled, coddled, entitled, and psychologically incapable of dealing with anything that does not go their way ensures one thing: the forever-infantilized will forever vote Democrat.
Sure, you ruin the lives of these kids… yes, you turn them into neurotic babies with thin skins, no sense of humor, and no way to cope with setbacks, which ensures a lifetime of misery… But they will vote the way you want, and that’s all that matters.
One of the key secrets to a happy life is the ability to laugh at yourself, to shrug it off, and move on. If you can’t do that, you will live a life of misery swathed in unearned smugness. What a terrible thing that must be.

What are you using?

So I competed in the MLSC this year for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it and want to compete in more matches like this or NRL Hunter style matches. My question to yall is what calibers are you shooting when competing in these. I am trying to finalize a build plan for a new rifle. I have been thinking about 6.5 PRC, 7 PRC or even 280 A.I.

Thanks in advance

Description

The HALO-LR

The HALO-LR by N-Vision Optics is one of the most advanced thermal scopes available on the market. The HALO-LR features a compact design that is lightweight and durable with a shock resistant body and IP67 waterproof rating. It provides a wide field of view and is well suited for nighttime medium to long range shooting.

Observe and Engage in Complete Darkness

Unlike night-vision that requires a small degree of light, the HALO-LR is completely thermal based, allowing the user to observe targets in complete darkness. It utilizes 4 polarity options: Black Hot, White Hot, White Edge Detect, and Black Edge Detect. Black Hot displays heat signatures as a black silhouette cast over a predominantly white backdrop, while White Hot shows a white silhouette cast over a predominantly black backdrop. Black and White Edge Detect casts either a black or white outline along the edges of heat signatures for a more defined image.

High-Tech Shooting

The core of the HALO-LR’s system is its 640x480, 12 micron sensor with a rapid 60Hz refresh rate. This highly advanced system is supported by a 1x/2x/4x/8x digital zoom function with a base magnification of 3.5x. The HALO-LR also come equipped with a Region of Interest Optimization function that enhances the clarity of your point of aim. This function is preset to your point of interest’s size of either ¼ or ½ of your screen. In addition, the HALO-LR is photo and video compatible, with photos being captured by enabling the photo function and quickly pressing and releasing the power button, with video being achieved via external DVR and analog video-out cable.

Features of the HALO-LR Thermal Scope:

  • Germanium coated optics
  • Digital Zoom: 1x/2x/4x/8x
  • White Hot, Black Hot, Black Edge Detection, and White Edge Detection polarity modes
  • Uses 4 CR123 Batteries
