ARC -- "AIR"-Brace mount ... any experience with these ?

I am considering the the ARC Air Brace mount for an AR-10 rifle.

I have the M-Brace mount and it is awesome (and very heavy) -- But I have not seen or heard very much regarding the 4-ounce Air brace.

Anyone have any experience with the Air-Brace mount? ... Considering it is ARC, I expect the build quality is good. Any thoughts of strength/durability?

Older weatherby vanguard issue

I've been doing some work on an older Weatherby Vanguard in a .270 WSM. The issue it's having is that the bolt drags at the end of its throw when closing and again when opening. It's to the point where it has to be forced closed then forced back open. I've concluded that the lug and cam on the bolt act oversized when entering their slots in the action I tested this by coloring the parts with a sharpie then running the bolt. The drag marks on the parts seem to indicate that only the half toward the bolt handle is dragging. There's also dragging on the sides but I assume that's to be expected. Now I'm tasked with finding out what's out of spec, the cam and lugs? Or their slots in the action? What is a good way to conclude these things without a micrometer? I haven't checked headspace yet because I don't have a set of gauges for the caliber (because i wasnt sure it was applicable but probably yet another good reason to own a micrometer) but I have checked torque on the action screws. Any feedback would be helpful thanks in advance!

Springfield 1922 M1 & M2

I just bought this Springfield 1922 M2 and realized that magazines were tough to come by. And I have read that the M1 and M2 magazines
are NOT interchangeable. I took a chance and bought a M1 magazine to see If It was something that I could alter in the mag to make it work.
I found it to work flawlessly as purchased. My SN is 2259B and the B indicates that it has been through all of the arsenal modifications.
My magazine was a repro and from comparing to the photos from the seller, I was nearly certain that it would work prior to ordering it.
The are sold on eBay and Gun Broker thru Joes Pawn. So you may be able to get more mags for your M2 that work.
My next project is to manufacture a scope rail that doesn't drill into the receiver but uses the rear sight screws and the barrel diameter
as a place for some sort of saddle to rest. The saddle area will most likely have N50 magnets in it to hold it to the bbl. securely.
The rear screws should keeps it's location locked in place.

Is Europe waking up?

Polish surprise upset, the conservative candidate beat out the leftist on a Trump-like platform.

Wilders in Netherlands just collapsed the government after the leftist coalition kept screwing him over and delaying immigration and economic reforms. He has the biggest party in parliament, but not a majority. This time he may get a majority.

Farage would win a majority if the commie Cokehead Keir could be forced into an election.

LePen is only 'not' in power because the communists screwed her over with parliamentary maneuvering and then have convicted her of campaign finance fraud in a total BS kangaroo court.

Italy is doing well. Eastern Europe is on the train.

If it were not for the useless commies and their parliamentary systems, the EU would be in the same toilet as the European Common Market in the 1970's when DeGaulle tried the same shit that turned into the EU in the 1990's. This 'global government shit' needs to go. The people don't want it. It's only the monsters who want control and a back door to communism.

We as a planet have a window of opportunity right now... Let's hope it stays open long enough!

Oh and Iran has enough material for about 10 nukes... get ready for them to test one before Labor day. Would not be surprised if it's tested before July 4th. Or maybe 'on' July 4th. Because they may be 9th century camel-shagging mullah pieces of shit. But they do understand irony!

Cheers!

ibi Carbon fiber barrel sales gimmick?

Hello, there is a custom high end rifle builder (don’t want to mention any names thanks) that is advertising last of an inventory of ibi barrels that were made by the original founder of ibi before the partnership as he explains it on his website and that if you wanted to get one of these last barrels, it would be a rare opportunity.
I was considering a new barrel for my rifle.
But is there any truth to this barrel being unique or better in any way over just ordering a new one, they only have certain lengths also, I would rather have a different length, but if there is truly a uniqueness and a quality factor in these older barrels, I would overlook the length and just get one that he has in stock or is this a complete marketing scheme?
Thanks

Firearms New Custom Tikka Packages From Straight Jacket!

We have released two new products at Straight Jacket in April of 2025. Both built off the Tikka T3X action we now offer the Tikka competition package and the Tikka hunter package. Some of our rifles seem a little harder to get into with pricing keeping people wanting the accuracy we provide in our builds. We feel the Tikka T3X action is a great option to help reduce costs but still be reliable and meet our standards. We offer in house financing with zero interest, with 50% needed to start the build, and paid in full before shipping. Call LaWayne at 435-462-1607 for any questions or help you may need. Click these links to see the product, Tikka Competition, Tikka Hunter.
