Hello fellow Hide enablers, looking for advice on what to do with a USMC Unertl scope. Always liked the look of the target scopes but never thought I’d get my hands on one.

I have a 15x on a USMC Remington 40x that was scratching the itch… but now?

I kind of like the idea of putting it on a Pre-64 M70 for an early Vietnam clone or do I look for a 1903 to make a WWII clone? What would be your thoughts?

I’m interested in putting together a 6mm Max build. My question is this, since the 6mm Max uses the same Outside/Rim Diameter, and Case Head Size as the 5.56/.223; and 6mm max also uses the 5.56/.223 BCG, can I use a Surefire RC2 or dedicated 5.56/.223 Suppressor with 6mm Max?
The only factor I see that would potentially say no is the Cartridge Overall Length.
The 5.56/.223 being 2.24 OAL and 6mm Max being 2.29 OAL.
I’m very uneducated in the suppressor scene, so hopefully my question isn’t too simple.

This scope was mounted in the Vortex PMR Rings using the Short Action Customs Final Scope Level with a plumb bob at 50 yards. It has been torqued to 15 inch pounds using seekonk torque tools that are fixed at that value. This scope is ready to be torqued on to a rail and go!

The majority of my bolt actions are Howa’s. Most with aftermarket barrels. I’ve got a couple of older Remington 788’s. I grew up shooting a 788 so they have a sweet spot. I do have a Bergara HMR pro which I believe is a 700 clone. But no 700’s. But I have an itch for a 700. Will probably get sent to Beanland.

I am looking between these 2 chassis. There is a significant price difference with not so significant differences, like the cheek rest design, something about adding weights on the inside (what weights will fit etc, not too bothered about).
Are there any differences that I am missing?
Any opinions between the 2? Haven't handled them in person, concerned about the play in areas where the foreend attaches.
