Hey folks. Shot my first PRS a couple weeks ago and i'm looking forward to doing some more. Just started reloading. Was shooting 6.5 creedmoor but i'm transitioning to 6 GT. Looks kind of like i'll be going against the grain by loading 6 GT with H4350, but I have 8.5 lbs of it, so varget will have to take a back seat until i burn through most of this powder.

If anyone else is in the Northern Virginia area or shoots at peacemaker or quantico, or XCAL, HMU.

I’m new to the forum and wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’ve recently gotten interested in precision shooting and I'm looking forward to learning from the community here. My primary interests are precision rifle shooting and improving both my marksmanship out to 600 yards and gear knowledge.


In the process of building a .308 and working to be as proficient at possible out to 600 yards. I've hunted my whole life, but most of the shooting I've done is 250 yards or less, never needed to shoot further outside of the range. For shits and giggles I've shot out to 800, not very successfully. I was more trying to see what the rifle is capable of. I'm also learning to reload from my neighbor but I don't have anything for myself in that regard.


I’ve already picked up a lot of useful info just browsing through the threads and I’m excited to be a part of the discussions going forward.

What equipment would be best for me to dial in on precision shooting? I'm looking for recs on anything regarding data collection.

Hello from North Georgia (more Atlanta metro area).

I finally have the time (and lets face it, money) to experiment with some longer range shooting I have been wanting to do for ages. It also helps a new range opened up near me that has steel out to 900 yards. I am currently building up an AR-10 in .308 to this end, and already have a bolt gun in the same caliber.

Been lurking while waiting on my account to be approved, but there is a lot of knowledge and information available here for someone new. I look forward to expanding my shooting skills into this new envelope.

I have a Winchester model 70 with CRF that bug holes installed a bartlien 3b barrel on.

I just got through fire forming all the lapua brass I had on hand and I went through and measured each case. This was brand new brass. I loaded the rounds where the bullet was touching the lands using close to max loads for 243 Winchester.

My case length are from 2.010 - 2.030. Some brass has 2 firings on it.

The saami trim length is 2.035. Is it a mistake to trim everything to 2.010 or just keep shooting the brass until it grows more.

posted similar before. interested in a lighter weight AR10. what is seen on here and elsewhere is about 20% + on SFAR. not a good gamble. looked at the PSA sabre 308 16". no weight listed. called PSA. after getting a "product specialist" i was told weight empty is 6.8 #s. does anybody have one or know from experience if that is correct?
seems iffy. IMHO if they had a gun that light,seems they would advertise that fact.

Anyone using Varget for reloading .260? If so what bullet weight is good with that powder? Advice and resource pointers appreciated.
