Suppressors Mk11/13 and M110 Gas Block Gate Latch Adapter run

Hi there, SH.
So I started designing a gate latch mechanism that is the portion of the Mk11/13/M110 suppressors that affixes the can to the gas block. The overall plan was, and still is, to find a manufacturer to produce full suppressors. I have designs/models/drawings done up for the entire can itself, aside from some final cup/baffle design choices and yes, that guide pin notch will be present in the latch assembly itself. I'm an impatient bastard and would like to see something come to fruition in the next 4-6 months. This isn't a 100% promise but more of a goal so please note that I'll keep trying, even if I don't have an update here. Plan is to complete the run of Mk11/13-applicable cans and then I would go to M110-applicable cans, but this is only if/when I can get the cans done themselves.

Nothing about these suppressors would be an attempt to be clone correct or to be called anything similar to a "Knights"/KAC product. The only relevance here to KAC is that it would be a gate latch assembly and/or suppressor that can attach to/work on Mk11, Mk13, and M110 rifles. I'm a fellow autist myself who enjoys the ole cloner-boner and building, but availability and cost of these cans has plagued quite a few of us from being able to shoot our sticks suppressed so I wanted to try and provide a solution for the dudes who are always on the search for a Knights can but want to shoot quietly in the mean time. Please don't ask about cost of the suppressor as I have not a single clue or idea yet.

I have a final proof of concept I'm finishing up the machining on currently. With that being said, since getting an 07/02 set up and not wanting to make a promise on full cans timeline just yet, I'll be soon taking orders for a singular run of the gate latch assemblies themselves. These will fit mk11, mk13 and m110 gas blocks. Currently trying to decipher demand to hopefully accommodate custom thread patterns for each customer as they see fit. The unit itself would be assembled fully upon delivery to you. I'm still waiting on a few things to determine cost but I'm hoping to be around, or under, $370 for each unit assembled and delivered. If you'd legitimately like to be added to the list of individuals who are for sure interested in grabbing one, please let me know in the comments and I'll follow-up with each of you.

Thank you and Happy Holidays.

Rifle Scopes Another “I want a new scope” thread

Looking at more than a few.
Gen 3 razor
Atacr
Nx8
Xtr pro
T6xi
Tract 4.5-30
Mk5HD

I’ve had good luck wjth bushnell but not sure they compete with some of these?

So far, the tract and mk5 are standing out for price. After .mil, the tract coming in under $1500 and the fde 5-25 mk5 coming in under $1700… makes me wonder what the g3 razor is bringing to the table for $1100 more.

Looking to stay around $2000 or under but could do $2500 max if it’s justified

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The 3-Day Pistol & Carbine Course is an intensive, performance-driven program designed to enhance marksmanship, weapons handling, and tactical decision-making skills. This course is built on battle-proven methodologies developed from over 20 years of elite military and law enforcement instruction, ensuring students receive the most effective, real-world applicable training.

Course Overview

On Day 1, students will develop pistol mastery, refining their draw speed, target acquisition, recoil management, and shooting efficiency. This training focuses on economy of motion, allowing students to execute every action with precision and speed. The drills and techniques taught will instill instinctive combat behaviors critical in high-stress, close-quarters engagements.

On Day 2, students will integrate pistol and carbine operations, learning to present the carbine from high and low ready, transition seamlessly between weapon systems, perform combat reloading procedures, recoil management, trigger management, and sight management drills while maintaining control in high-risk scenarios. This phase includes shooting while moving, immediate action drills, advanced threat engagement techniques, and communication under fire, ensuring that students are prepared for fluid, rapidly evolving situations.

On Day 3, students will advance to dynamic engagement techniques and extended-range shooting, training to engage threats at distances from 25 to 100 yards. Instruction includes positional and barricaded shooting, bilateral shooting, fire-and-maneuver principles, and stress-based dynamic exercises, all designed to improve survivability and adaptability in real-world operations.

Newbie from the PNW

Recently got my feet wet in long range shooting on a class with a knifemaker that pulled me in. Got some hits at 975 and 1100 yards and was absolutely smitten with the whole process! Starting the research process to zero in on where I want to start with acquiring my own long range build and start making a habit out of reaching out to distance as much as I can with like minded individuals.

So much to learn.

Reloading Equipment Modular Reloading Powder Funnel Kit

New Modular Reloading Powder Funnel Kit - $45 + Shipping

Static resistant and designed with powder flow in mind, our Powder Funnel was very much a labor of love and we are excited to finally get it in your hands. The funnel inserts are a unique twist lock and were made with tapered engagement based on case head size and shoulder instead of caliber. This gives you more versatility with fewer inserts, and a solid resting point without causing the funnel to bind when you move from case to case.

In addition everything twist locks in the tray too, so you won‘t lose them and you can even hang the set up above your bench when not in use.

See below for all compatible Rifle Cartridges.

Rifle Scopes Ring Height Info - How to Measure Correctly

Guys,

Lately, on average of about 1 per day, I have seen quite a few posts (mostly from newbies) regarding questions about what ring height should be used. They usually request pics for comparison. For all new guys, there is a systematic way of calculating ring height that doesn't require more than a simple elementary school ruler. You measure 3 things:
1. the height of the front of your base/rail from the barrel
2. the height of your rings from the top of the rail to centerline
3. the outside diameter of the bell of the scope (not the size of the objective lens)

Here is the equation:

[rail height + ring height] - [bell diameter x 0.5]

If the value is positive, then your bell will clear the barrel. Ideally, you want that bell to be about 1/4" or less over the barrel. This will give you a tight cheek weld. Be sure to account for Butler Creek caps if you intend on using them.

If you are using a 40mm objective, then you can use the lowest rings and bases available, as the bell will certainly clear the barrel with no problem. i.e. don't worry if the bell ends up being higher than 1/4" over the barrel.

Hope this helps.

mike

Just another note. If you are using a scope base and/or mount/rings that have built in elevation, that may have to be accounted for in the case of very small clearance. To calculate this, we need to know the amount of elevation built into the mount/rings and/ or base, and the length from the end of the scope base to the end of the scope bell. Convert MOA into degrees, and then the equation is:

Tan (theta) x length

For example, if you are using a 20 MOA base, and the distance from the edge of the scope base to the end of the bell is 5". 20 MOA = 0.333 degrees, so:

Tan 0.333 x 5 = 0.029"

This means that you need an extra 0.029" of clearance in addition to the calculation above
