2025 Scout Sniper Association M40A5 rifle raffle!

e993f623-96e3-485a-89fb-d177bb566a1a.png

Well, gentlemen, it's that time of the year again! We're about a month out from drawing the winner for an epic M40A5 clone build, the rifle raffle ends on May 5th.

I donated this rifle to the Scout Sniper Association (SSA) in order to help raise money for the Marine Scout Sniper community through the SSA. The SSA is a 501(C)(3) charitable organization and 100% of the funds raised from this rifle raffle will be used to fulfill the SSA's mission. This includes supporting active duty and reserve Scout Sniper units, as well as helping out gold star families who have tragically lost their Scout Sniper family member. The SSA is a phenomenal organization and they do incredible things for the Scout Sniper community, and any support for the SSA is greatly appreciated.

This year's raffle rifle is an M40A5 clone build, and it was assembled by 2 amazing Marine 2112 armors - Jake Meyers and Deven Huffman. Both of these Marines donated their time and efforts to build this M40A5 sniper rifle. These 2112 armorers have personally built dozens of sniper rifles for Marine Scout Snipers to use in combat. This first-hand experience ensures that this M40A5 was meticulously built to the original USMC M40A5 specifications, with no detail being overlooked.

This is truly an extraordinary clone rifle, and since it's not a vintage gun, its modern features make it a very versatile rifle. You can take it to the shooting range, take it into the field hunting, shoot competition matches with it, etc. Whomever wins this rifle is getting an amazing gun that isn't just historical, it's also very usable! This isn't a wall hanger, it's a rifle that's built to take on many years of hard use. The M40A5 kit also includes many of the SL3 accessories, so it's a complete package.

You can purchase raffle tickets for this epic M40A5 sniper rifle at this link:

https://rafflecreator.com/pages/90636/2025-m40a5-rifle-raffle

Please let me know if anyone has any questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you very much for your support and I wish everyone luck with their raffle tickets!

Here is the actual prize M40A5 sniper rifle being test fired by members of the USMC shooting team. They easily achieved sub-MOA performance with standard M118LR ammunition, and they really enjoyed shooting this rifle. It's high praise all-round for this M40A5:

Why is the 6mm Dasher so popular?

So, I've been happily shooting my "old-school" 6.5 Creedmoor PRS style rifle but I'm starting to think about jumping on the lower-recoiling 6mm bandwagon. The question is, which one?

My usual crowd-sourcing method for making these decisions is to look at what other people are using for the same task. According to the latest "What the Pro's Use", the 6mm Dasher makes up 41% of the top shooters in PRS.

What confuses me though is the average velocity numbers:
  • 105 gr. = 2,847 fps (based on 21 shooters)
  • 109-110 gr. = 2,825 fps (based on 18 shooters)
Just looking at the velocities, it appears that a straight 6mm BR (the smallest case capacity of the common 6mm cartridges) with a modest charge of Varget would accomplish the same speeds.

Is there something I'm missing as to why so many are running the Dasher if its case capacity isn't really needed?

Tranny FAFO

Trans inmate who killed baby blames Trump admin for alleged assaults in prison: Lawsuit
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/tr...s-trump-admin-alleged-assaults-prison-lawsuit

Use this thread for all the outrageous Tranny stories out there. This particular story has to be the funniest I’ve read yet.

The tranny is in prison for killing a baby and the prisoners heard about it so they roughed up and beat up the tranny.

The tranny is now suing Trump and prison officials claiming that Trumps rhetoric against the trans community led to him getting attached in prison by multiply prisoners.

In the legal filing, the Tranny stated: “Jonathan C. Richardson, who goes by Autumn Cordellioné, claims in the handwritten complaint that, due to Trump's "extremist rhetoric and transphobic hate speech," he has "emboldened the Defendants and the assailants that brutally assaulted and raped plaintiff, not once, but multiple times, to act on their hate and prejudices, constituting the cause in action and his liability in this case. Therefore, President Trump was negligent due to his alleged knowledge that others may act on his words."

“The inmate is seeking $3.5 million in compensatory damages from Trump, alongside the other defendants, including prison employees and 12 other "gang affiliated inmates," who allegedly "stabbed" and sexually assaulted the inmate over a four-day period in January.”

The funniest part of the story…the comments below are what the prisoners told the tranny in prison.

"Trump's president now, and we won’t even get in trouble for f-----g you trannies up, we’re patriots and even if you tell on us, Trump will pardon us and probably give us a medal," Cordellioné claimed one of the offenders said, according to the complaint.

That’s classic…hey tranny don’t worry Trump is president now and he will pardon us and give us a medal for kicking your ass!

Pistol ar....lvpo vs red dot

Pistol build ive been working on for a little while is finally finished up and im just in the throws of debating red dot (well green is preferable) over an lvpo

Looked at mro and aems

But I currently run a psa special price strike eagle 1-8 on my rifle and just having a hard time not just going that route again on the Pistol other than weight

Now not like its a work rifle or anything other than range and shtf stuff but hard time making the choice

So let's hear some thoughts

.223 Rifle Build

Hello,
Need some ideas and input on .223 rifle build. As far as the action I'm pretty open, but would like a recommendation on something with short throw like 70 degree or so so don't have to worry about scope clearance. Barrels are a plethora and would like to possibly try a CF wrapped, but planning to run a can on it and not sure about the whole chunk of weight on the end and effect on accuracy. So input on that from ppl with experience would be great. As far as stocks.... i have a few rifle with KRG chassis of different flavors and i really like them, but wanted to try something different. Is it worth exploring Manners with DBM or just stick with what I already know. Also, I know mags are also a concern, want to not have to fiddle with mags and mag catches and such to run reliably. planning to shoot mostly 77 grain OTMS, but would probably try 80s, and 90s at some point so that leaves me to twist rate to cover those bullet weights 1/7, 1/8 and such, info for that would be nice.
And yes, i did my research on the subject before someone tells me to use search function. I just want opinions on what ppl built or use and what i might have missed from my research to compare notes or update my findings.
Thank you guys in advance.

Firearms Springfield Waypoint 22LR like new - $350 shipped

Just bought this at the end of last year but went back to a semi auto. I’ve maybe put 75 rounds through it with no issues at all. Loved SK standard ammo.

This one came with a Viridian 3-9 scope that will be included. I’ll try to get photos up later but looks exactly like the one in the link.

Where does Leupold source their glass ?

I know all these optic companies that assemble imported components in America may be able to maintain current pricing but I don’t know if those imported components will be more expensive in the coming months and I am trying to decide what MPVO that I’ll be getting before the potential price increases.
I would prefer to not support certain countries so does anyone absolutely know where Leupold sources their glass ( crystals ?? ) or where any of the other stateside optics assemblers ( Nightforce ? ) source their glass ?
TY
