Anyone loaded any 65gr ARX for 9mm.

Tried 4.8gr Tite Group in once fired Blazer brass and Ginex SPP at 1.150 coal with no joy for use in a G19 (1447 fps) and a G19MOS with factory threaded barrel and an RMR (1495fps). Stovepipe and FTF galore at that charge weight.
Going to 5.0 grains next, 5.1 is max published load on the +P chart.

With the ARX at $57/1k and the Ginex SPP at $76/1k they should end up under $7/50.

Next option is to try some HP38 if they don't run at 5.0. Not really wanting to change out the recoil spring if I don't have to.

After many years of wanting one, I finally got the chance to own a Badger M2013. I purchased one from the PX here recently, and there isn’t a whole lot out there regarding these actions compared to pretty much any other custom-level action. From what I have read however, is that the M2013 isn’t worth the trouble and just to go for an AI instead. Well now that I own one, I feel like I should speak up and make my opinions known so that others can maybe know what to expect if they are considering one in the future.

From what I know, the action I have is an early model serialed A0066. Prior to me owning it, it’s seen 5000+ rounds and a number of different barrels and calibers. The barrel currently is a 20 inch Bartlein in 6 Creedmoor, 1-7.7 twist with roughly 100 rounds through it. The stock is a 1 of 1 Manners that has no serial code, and they have no record of it even being made. After receiving the rifle, I sent it to them to refurbish. It wasn’t in terrible shape but could definitely use a tune-up. I also had them refinish it in Olive Drab, where it was previously rattle-canned tan. I really like the stock, and would say it’s closest to an EH1-A. Manners did a fantastic job with a surprisingly quick turnaround.

Since getting the stock back I have spent some time behind the rifle, and can say that it’s been a real pleasure to run so far. The action is hilariously smooth, and it runs AW mags like a dream. The bolt lift isn’t the lightest in the world, but when properly ran it is not noticeable whatsoever. No hitches or hangups with binding, it’s just nice. Very little bolt play when brought to the rear, stays tight and true the whole way. I’ve owned many 700 clone custom actions in all bolt lifts, and this one is up there with the best of them. I will be looking into timing the trigger, or getting one with an adjustable sear engagement. It currently has a TT Special single stage.

Very happy with this purchase, and looking forward to getting it out and stretching its legs once I get it setup the way I want for varmint hunting. Thinking about going for a nice clip-on thermal to place on that EFR up front. Also pondering on what optic to roll with that works well with the thermal clip-ons, (that’s not a LPVO) as well as what height everything should be. ...are all moving towards one thing. Setting aside all terminal ballistics, and only focusing on flight:
Bullet designs have gotten incrementally better since I started shooting in the 1970s. New bullets come out with a slightly higher BC. Yet...

The physics is the physics. We have known, both theoretically/mathematically on paper and through testing, what shape has the lowest drag coefficient and therefore the highest BC since 1947. The Sears-Haack body is the shape of an object with the lowest possible fluid drag.

The more a bullet looks like that the higher BC it's going to have and the slower the delta of speed as drag acts on it as it moves through air. There simply AREN'T "advancements" in bullet design when the most efficient shape possible has been around for 75+ years. Yea, there are materials, bonding, etc., but none of that is going to make it fly any better. Why isn't there a VLD that is literally a Sears-Haack body? Why isn't every competition bullet a Sears-Haack body? Is the symmetrical ogive at the rear some manufacturing or reloading problem? Am I missing something obvious? Really, as I look at the progression of bullets I've used I can literally see them getting more and more like a Sears-Haack. Is there something stopping us from just going directly to it? Is it too costly, or is it not possible to point both ends? I mean, there must be some valid reason I'm missing, because it's not like the best possible shape is a secret. Hell, if it is some manufacturing process problem then why not just weld two flat back bullets together? There is always going to be a market for the best, and we have always known exactly what that is.

Is someone somewhere crafting these for their own use? People are turning monolithic bullets, but I haven't seen one that was literally a Sears-Haack. Why, or are they out there?

Maybe this whole line of thinking is dumb, I don't know, but I've seen a thousand posts about a new bullet design, when there's really only a single one, and every bullet that doesn't care about terminal ballistics wants to be that one design.
